Hi, I'm Brad. I'm John. That's Brad's phone.
It's probably picked up on the microphone. Maybe not. Anyway,
Band-Maid started the year out nicely by releasing
something new. It's not really new. Well, it's been a while since we reacted to
them, so. Yeah, it's something a bit different from
what we normally do. Because this was actually originally
released back in January of 2021 as a bonus track on
their album Unseen Worlds. Well, some versions of their album.
They then went ahead and released an official live video
somewhere between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Depends on where you are.
For us specifically, it was released
late New Year's Eve. But yeah, whichever. The live footage was taken from
their 2025 tour final that Tokyo Garden did.
Yeah, okay. Obviously. Last year, go figure.
Last year as in a couple days ago. Yeah, so it's an instrumental track
for once. So basically we get all the ladies playing instruments
without singing. All right. And it's cool without holding back. But they
I guess it's going to be different. For this one, we're done. So for once, we're
going to do an instrumental track. Well, sounds good. Before we check them
out, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out the description down below. You can find all the links to information and
stuff that we have down there, including our new channels.
Yeah, Replay in the Past and Gen X Music Rewind. Check them out.
Yes. Shop it. Yeah. I always hate, in a way,
music tracks, or music only tracks, I shouldn't say,
because I'm never quite sure where to break them.
Yeah. It's kind of like, people go, don't stop
doing it. Yeah, that's when you have no choice.
Yeah. I'd say if I was buying one, I truly doubt it.
No, I really don't. It's, I do like pieces like this.
And I don't think enough bands do it to, you know,
go out and put a purely instrumental piece out,
because it's like, well, one, it's a good way of showing off.
Let's be honest. Look, we can play. Well, yeah, that's what I'd say.
You knew they could play, but I guess really watching it like this, it's like,
they just really focus your attention on it.
They know what they're doing. Yeah, you're actually really
focusing on the fact that, hey, all of them,
you know, we don't have one being, you know, doing nothing but singing.
Yeah. They're all playing. Yeah, it's, they're all really, really good.
Yeah. Another thing, too, the piece is written in such a way
that they're actually, they each, in turn, as it goes along,
have a chance to, you know, take the spotlight, take the lead.
Right. Of the music as it goes along. So it's kind of like it's not just,
you know, I don't want to say, a lot of pieces end up being your,
you know, main guitar lead. Yeah. And then,
you know, the bass is off in the background doing bass things.
Which, let's be honest, most bands, when you see them live,
the bass guy's back there doing bass things the entire time.
And that's his or her job, just
stand back there, look somewhat imposing and do bass things.
In this, she's actually, you know, taking the lead a couple of times.
Right. So it's, yeah, it's, it's rotates through the four of them.
And, yeah. Yeah.
I like to say a drum off between her and, is it Al?
Yeah. Yeah, when I said the four of them, I actually did forget about the drummer,
of course, who, yeah, I guess she didn't really have
so good of a drum spot, did she? Yeah, I think that she did.
Maybe she did. I don't know. Okay, so I guess, I don't know, I guess all five of them.
For some reason, I could be wrong. For some reason,
yeah, I was, you know, I was counting, you know, the
I didn't know there was only a test afterwards. Bass guitar, guitar,
you know, keyboard, usually singer. I mean, they showed her all the time.
Yeah, they showed her all the time. I was just trying to think when, you know,
when, you know, the other, the other ones kind of like
stepped back and the drums came forward. And I don't think they actually did in
that piece, but I thought they did, but I don't know.
Yeah, they might have and I just might not have been paying attention at that point.
I may, I may have just been paying attention to the drummer and
yeah, locking the other one down. Because it was like,
because I, yeah, it's like, I knew she was good, but it's like, yeah, you really,
yeah, you really, you really, like, then that's what I was thinking. It's like,
man, I want to see her and Pal go head to head on that.
Yeah, that would actually be kind of fun. Yeah. Well, that was good. Yeah, that was
definitely different. I mean, yeah, you know, you, you miss the singing, but
I think they, they're just fine with that one as well. Yeah.
Yeah, you miss singing, but it is nice just to have just an acoustic piece as
well. Yeah. Yeah. So where you don't have to
concentrate and yeah, I don't really focus on the
instrument like me. I apparently I was focused on the drums thing. I mean,
they're going to be in a solo jump anyway.
Yeah. Especially since most, most, yeah, actually, I think pretty much
most of their songs they do in Japanese as well. So, you know,
you end up focusing a bit on the subtitles when they have them.
Yes. You end up trying to read along as well.
So yeah, that you don't have any of that distraction either. So it's kind of like,
yeah, it's just, it's just pure music. Sometimes it's like, yeah,
I just want to listen to music. Yeah. Well, it's been a while, but we're
definitely going to continue hitting them up. So make sure you get that
like and subscribe and remember that, you know, when you get down to the
description to check out our other two websites where you live in the,
I don't know, replay in the past, which is quizzes and
trivia challenges based on 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s stuff.
So if you're into that nostalgia stuff and then Gen X
Rewind, which is music rewind or Gen X Music Rewind,
which is music shorts of the same classic music.
In case you're into that type of stuff.
