Hi guys, WineTuber here and in today's video I'm going to talk about the most popular champagne
in the world, which is Moët & Chandon. So let's get started.
Moët was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay. In 1833 house took the name of Moët
& Chandon when Pierre-Gabriel Chandon joined the management team. Then Moët & Chandon house
quickly became the main supply of the Royal Court of France. But now let's move on to top 10
fun facts about Moët & Chandon champagne. Did you know that Moët & Chandon is the largest
champagne house in the champagne area and producing approximately 30 millions of wine
each year? Today Moët & Chandon owns more than 1200 hectares of the vineyard, which is approximately
600 hectares holds the Grand Cru status. Apart of producing Imperial, Ice Imperial,
Nectar Imperial and Grand Vintage, Moët & Chandon is also making luxury champagne called Dom Pérignon.
This champagne is only released to the market as a vintage champagne. It's also available as a rosé
and very rare version called P2. But the most expensive and the most rarest champagne producing
by Dom Pérignon it's called P3 and the current release it's 1993. As this champagne it's released
to the market after 30 to 40 years after the harvest. Speaking of luxury brands, did you know
that Moët & Chandon is a part of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy luxury group. This group is owned by
Berno Arnault and family, which are the richest people in the world. Did you know that Moët &
Chandon has royal warranty as their champagne Dom Pérignon 1961 vintage was served during Diana's
and Charles wedding in 1981. 1961 by the way is the date of birth of Diana and this super rare vintage
it's no longer available on the market. Did you know that in 1967 Don Gurney initiated a tradition
of spray the champagne after the win. He won 24-hour lemon race and spray the German bottle of
Moët & Chandon over the crowd. Did you know that the flagship champagne Moët & Chandon Imperial
it's a blend of three most planted grape varieties in the champagne area, which is 30 to 40 percent
Pinot Noir, 30 to 40 percent Pinot Meunier and 20 to 30 percent of Chardonnay. This champagne
it's a combination of 100 different wines and the dosage it's 7 grams of sugar per liter, which
makes this champagne dry in style. Moët Imperial take its name from the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte
and was created in 1869. Did you know that Napoleon visited the estate in Epernay a good
few times at the beginning of 19th century. Have you heard that in January 2023 Moët & Chandon
won the blight tasting of the five of the largest champagne houses. Link to this video can be found
here or in the description below. Moët compete with Je Ache Mame, Tétangé, Piper Heitzig and Veuve Clicquot.
In 2021 Atlantis De Palme in Dubai and Moët & Chandon rocked the Guinness World Record title
for the world's largest drinking glass pyramid. The giant over eight meter construction was made
of 54,700 champagne glasses, built within five days and over 55 hours to finish.
Finally, Moët & Chandon is the world's first company to use electric straddle tractors in
viticulture since 2013. Green transport is also used outside of the Moët & Chandon winery.
Moët & Chandon Imperial is absolutely delicious showing aromas of pear, quince, citrus, peach and also
baked apples. On the palate it's medium but it's really elegant with fantastic finish and I highly
recommend to serve the champagne in between 6 to 8 degrees celsius. By the way don't miss out my
