Here is a REIKI ASMR Healing Session for Regulating Your Nervous System. I hope you find this session helpful :)
Thank you, as always, for your beautiful comments and requests. I created this Reiki ASMR channel for you, so please don't hesitate to share any requests for future video themes! I'd love to hear them!
Hello my friend. Welcome to your Reiki session. This is a really important Reiki session.
Regulating your nervous system is one of the most empowering practices you can engage in.
So it takes discipline, it takes awareness, it takes intentionality,
and it takes a willingness to support yourself. So if you've been maybe living in denial about the
way that the external world affects you, if you've been maybe living in denial about the way
that other people and their energies impact you, then this session is here to help you reconnect
and align with that sense of inner peace and calm. So we are going to help you regulate your nervous
system while you sleep. So you can have this session on in the background, maybe while you're
falling asleep or getting ready to go to bed. And my intention here is just simply
to help you to release some of the weight of fight and flight. When we shift into our sympathetic
nervous system, it's very useful. It's a useful state to be in. Fight flight is very very useful.
However, in our modern world, we often engage in that or activate that sympathetic nervous system
in times that don't call for it. And so what we do in those times is we're sort of splashing out,
kind of leeching out our energy, when in reality we could be far better served by being in our
parasympathetic nervous system of rest and digest. This can be particularly true if when you're
falling asleep or any moments of stillness, maybe when you're trying to meditate, your mind starts
racing and racing and racing and trying to find those external threats. Maybe in the form of
worrying, worrisome thoughts, anxious thoughts. So if any of this sounds familiar to you,
then you're in the right place. You're not alone. This is very very common. It's very common
for us to be in this state of kind of anxious and
worrisome and kind of fear-based thinking. The good news about that, I'm going to come
through this beautiful selenite wand. The good news about, you know, having the awareness that maybe
you tend to shift into a very activated and anxious state,
is that your nervous system really wants to protect you.
So we can see that part of this is very empowering.
My nervous system is here to protect me. It's just a little bit
off balance. You know, we just need to
calibrate it a bit. I think about this when I think about, I don't know if you're a camera person,
but I have to calibrate my drone when I'm using my drone camera. I have to calibrate that
and it takes a minute. You have to kind of flip it upside down to let it know this is upside down.
You have to turn it in different directions to let it know, you know, this is to the right,
this is to the left. You have to calibrate it so that it knows where it is and what direction to
turn in. All of that. So our nervous systems are the same. You just have been improperly
calibrated. You need to be recalibrated. Maybe you're left to someone else's right and you're
right to someone else's left. And so we just need to just recalibrate you so that you know
where your home base is. That's really what the calibration process is with a drone camera
is to say this is home. And so when you calibrate your drone to home, then if it's off,
I like to film the mountains at this time of year because the foliage is changing and the
mountains look misty and magical. I don't know when this will go up, but right now we're in autumn
and even going into winter, it's very magical with the snow to snow topped peaks.
But when my drone is off flying through the mountains, if the battery starts to die,
I have to hit home and then it needs to know where that home base is so that it can return home.
Because sometimes it'll just, if it's not calibrated properly, it could return
somewhere that's not home and then end up in a tree or in a lake. And that's not good.
So we just need to calibrate you to this sense of safety to your own home base.
And the way that we can do that is to start a daily practice of welcoming,
maybe even building, creating and developing your inner home, your inner home,
so that you know how to return here. And the way that I like to do this
is to develop this inner sanctuary in the heart space. The heart space is a wonderful place
to develop your little fortress. And so this selenite wand is wonderful.
What I'm doing as I come through here is combing through your energy body and helping to release
any blocked energy, helping to clear and cleanse, almost like an energetic vacuum,
clearing and cleansing. Because this process is really just about helping you to get out of your
own way, helping you to get out of your own way, helping you to release what's not serving you.
So we can start the process of developing this inner sanctuary in your heart space.
Here in the heart space, what does that look like for you? What does your inner sanctuary look like?
Is it a flame? Is it a cozy room filled with old books? Maybe a tired little puppy in the corner,
cozy and sleeping? Or is it a fresh, light, crisp walk in the woods?
Or is it the night sky sparkling with glimmering light, the cosmos?
What does that home feel like for you? Is it adventure? Is it coziness? Is it connection?
Is it solitude? Is it reverence? What is the space for you?
What is the space and place for you? So I want you to take a moment here to consider
what this space is, and you can begin with a flickering flame. If you don't have something
that you can immediately call upon that feels right, start with a flame. Start with a flickering
golden flame right in the center of your chest, right in your heart space. It's warm. It's
inviting. It's supportive and nurturing. Let's start with that flame, this golden flame.
So you might even put your hands around the flame, gathering warmth in your palms.
But let's set our intention here. I'll set my intention for this session, and you can just
continue to think about what this inner sanctuary is for you. What is your home base?
On behalf of your highest, wisest, most empowered, most high and self-above, I wish to conduct this
session to help you regulate your nervous system, to help you find your peace, safety, comfort, and
inspiration. So you might even set your own intention on this flame here, based on whatever
you're moving through. And as long as it's in service of your most peaceful self, your highest
self, we will honor that intention and see it through time and space, to learn whenever it's
off this burgundy. I feel so witchy, actually. Let's go ahead and light our lavender incense
on this candle, and we'll say the Reiki precepts together.
You can either repeat them to yourself or aloud, or simply allow the words to wash over you,
meeting you where you are, greeting you with the wisdom that they bear.
Just for today, I will not anger. I like to interpret this as, just for today, I will not act
from a place of anger. And by that, I mean, if I am feeling angry, that's the
starting point of this precept. If I am feeling angry, if something happens to me
that causes me to feel angry, and it doesn't have to be capital A angry, but if this is
something that is even slightly irritating or frustrating, anything that's under the umbrella
of anger, then I won't react. I will instead go inward. I will instead recognize,
ah, I'm feeling angry. I will not act from a place of anger. Therefore, I will not respond.
I will not react. I will not take action. I will not be proactive while I am still in this
emotional state. So now it's my responsibility to recognize why I feel this way and to go back
to a state of equilibrium before I respond. Okay? So just for today, I will not anger.
To say, I will not ever get angry, that to me feels very disempowering, because I think anger
is a very useful emotion. It teaches us when our boundaries have been broken. It teaches us where
our boundaries are. It teaches us how we're responding to the world around us. It teaches
us the impact that the world around us has on us. It teaches us the impact that our own actions
have on us. And so it's an important emotion to recognize and to be in conversation with.
But the vow that we take with the precepts, from my interpretation, is that I'm not going to act
from a place of anger. So before I react from this place of anger, I'm going to check myself,
regulate myself. I'm going to reconnect with my home base. I'm going to reconnect with myself
before I respond. Just for today, I will not anger. Now this one is very important. Just for today,
I will not worry, is the second one. Just for today, I will not worry.
And again, I have an interpretation of this, which is just for today, I will not act
from a place of fear. Just for today, I will not act from a place of fear.
So when I feel afraid, when I feel scared of something, I will take a pause. I will take a pause.
I will take a pause before I react from this place of worry is about future fearing. You know,
it's about kind of projecting yourself into the future. And instead of using our imaginations to
dream up a life that we want, we're using our imagination to dream up a life that we don't want.
That's just in essence what worry is, right? So we don't want to act from that place. It's
a very misaligned place. It's a very misaligned place to act from a place of worry.
And so we're just not going to do that. We're just going to take our time with things.
We're going to recalibrate, recalibrate and come back to homeostasis, return to our equilibrium,
recalibrate. Just for today, I will be honest. I will be honest. I will live and work honestly.
Just for today, I will be honest. This is our third Reiki preset. I will be honest. I will live
and work honestly. This is about integrity, honesty. I will express myself honestly.
My work and my words will be in alignment. I will live and I will work honestly.
It's a beautiful preset. Just for today, I will be honest. I will live and work honestly.
And then just for today, I will be grateful. Arguably our most important preset. It gives us
permission to enjoy the gifts that life has to offer. Gives ourselves permission to enjoy,
to appreciate, to lean into the felt sense of how wonderful the gifts are that we have in our lives.
Sometimes we don't even give ourselves permission to acknowledge or recognize them,
but here they are. Here they are, alas, here they are, all of these gifts.
And here's your vow to the universe has given you a gift. And just like if a friend or family
member or loved one were to bestow a gift upon you, you would say thank you. You would appreciate
it, right? Well, this moment here, this is a gift. Not everyone is afforded this moment.
Every part of life is a gift. Aging is a gift. It's a real blessing. It's a gift.
It's a gift. Appreciate the gifts. Appreciate, you know, we talk about,
all appreciate the sunrise and the sunset. And that's wonderful. We should. And appreciate
all of it. Gratitude is so empowering. And gratitude is a choice. We can choose this.
You can choose to be grateful. You can choose at this moment to be grateful.
And then the universe has a funny way of giving us more things to be grateful for
the moment we dedicate ourselves to finding them. I am going to be grateful. I'm going to choose to
see the silver lining on this cloud. Well, now that you have more things to be grateful for,
the universe produces more light for you to recognize. It's amazing. I've seen it transform
my life and the lives of my loved ones. So empowering. So just for today, I will be grateful.
And just for today, I will be kind. I will be kind. And I interpret this as just for today,
I will be kind. Kind to myself and to all living beings. Kind to myself and to all living beings.
My practice of veganism is very tied into this. I feel very passionately about veganism.
I donate to farm sanctuaries that help rescue animals.
It feels very much in alignment with my spiritual practice. I think kindness is
very empowering. It's so much more powerful than we think about it. Think about kindness
as this light airy thing, but I think kindness is so deep and profound and
it really is a practice. I think it's something that you choose.
Again, I think all of these things are things that you choose. You can choose these every day to be
kind. Start with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Start there. That's so powerful. Start there.
Start with that self-kindness and then extend it out as you can and practice it. We can't always
be kind to everybody or everything. Living on this planet, it's very difficult
just in living to not have a negative impact on somebody or something.
But if we can try, do our best, practice kindness, that's so empowering. It's a very powerful way to
connect to our humanness. It's beautiful kindness. It can change worlds. It can totally shape lives.
It's so powerful. It's incredible. Kindness is just a superpower. I'm sure you have felt that.
If you've experienced a very hard time and then someone said something kind to you,
did something kind for you, it can completely change your whole day, week, year, life.
It's amazing. Just for today, I'll be kind. These precepts aren't about being perfect,
but they're about recognizing what's important to you. It's more important to me to be kind
than to maybe have a moment of instant gratification where I'm speaking ill of
somebody for the validation of others. It's about having this backbone that you can look to
that says, these are the ways that I think it's important to conduct yourself in.
These are the rules and mechanisms that I've agreed are helpful and useful
in my life and society and friendships. I vow to live by these imperfectly if I need to.
But always trying, always moving towards that sense of wholeness, always moving towards that
sense of alignment. Coming into the room with this owl feather. So those are the Reiki precepts.
I say them every single morning and they really help me to regulate for the day.
They help me to recalibrate, to remember the things that matter to me.
So you don't have to follow the Reiki precepts, but maybe even develop your own.
What are your personal precepts? What are the precepts? What are the principles that guide you?
You can make this as personal as you want. What are the principles that shape you, that you believe
in, that you want to live your life by? You can turn to philosophers or spiritual teachers for
these. You can turn to religion. You can turn to, you know, you can go to different mantras,
Gayatri mantra is a lovely one, but connecting to some sense of wholeness and centering so that
you know where that home base is from which you can then act and respond. So I would be just,
I would suggest or I guess advise or encourage or inspire, invite I guess you to start to see what
those are for yourself, you know, start to write those down. That's nice. So you can write them
down. What are they? Love? Presence? We'll keep gratitude, yeah. Compassion? Yes. So you can write
those down. I encourage you to do that. I encourage you to develop your own principles.
They can be your North Star guiding you back home. I want to place a few stones. This is an Amazonite
and like the beautiful Amazons, Amazon, Amazonian women, this stone is a very powerful stone
and it's also deeply connected to emotional healing. I think this is a really empowering
stone when it comes to healing emotional blockages and finding your power even
through those challenges. So this could be about past healing, karmic healing.
I want to place this right here. It's this aquamarine beautiful stone and while you're
doing that, I also want to send you grounding and protected energy in the form of this beautiful
piece of petrified wood. It's one of my favorite stones. Very grounding as you would imagine.
It's helpful for self-belief. I'm gonna place this.
If you commit yourself to practicing emotional regulation,
practicing reminding yourself how safe you are, you are not being chased by a saber-toothed tiger.
Just because someone gave you a funny look at work, it doesn't mean that you are going to be
ostracized by the community and left out in the cold. Life isn't like that anymore.
You are safe. It makes sense why you don't feel safe but you are. You are safe. You are protected.
There are energies all around you that are supporting you and beyond that,
you can take care of yourself. You are supporting yourself. You are safe. You are safe. You are
deeply safe. You are taken care of. Everything is okay. We just need to recalibrate a system that
has been developed upon a foundation of stress, maybe trauma, and we just need to recalibrate,
okay? Gorgeous. I'm going to take this rattle and shake up your energy and then we'll close.
You are safe and protected, my dear. You are loved and cared for. It's time to just lean back into
trust. Start practicing trust. Anytime your mind starts drifting into worry, return to this present
moment and even if you have to do that over and over again, it's the practice of coming home.
It's the practice of returning home. That practice is what builds the muscle
of emotional regulation. It doesn't matter how long you stay at home-based. It doesn't matter
how often you have to bring yourself back or rather how often you get pulled into anxious
thoughts. That's okay. It's not your fault that you get pulled into these anxious thoughts
but if you want to grow and expand and shift, starting this practice of coming back to trusting
in your own safety, that practice like a muscle when you lift weights in the gym,
that repetition and what builds muscle at the gym is lifting heavier weights, right?
So in that same way, as you become comfortable and familiar with coming back into a regulated
state when things, small things are making you feel anxious, then you will be more tolerant,
more capable of coping with the more difficult challenges in life from a place of calm,
confidence and trust. So we just have to build that muscle, practice that calibration,
okay? Now come through, shake up your energy to provide this thick, healthy, buoyant aura.
You are divine. You are connected. You are expressive. You are loved. You are strong.
You are creative. You are safe. You are safe, okay? Thank you so much for joining me. You can
stay here as long as you want, okay? Take really good care of yourself. Take really good care of
each other and until we meet again, be so, so well, okay? Namaste.
And see if you can just maybe breathe it in, fill yourself up with that gorgeous, loving
energy. Imagine the aroma, just like precision to help you accomplish tasks and achieve objectives.
Cool. If this is too super-empowering a mission as you can,
close your eyes and it feels right for you. Then let's begin today with gratitude.
Whatever position you find yourself in, bring to heart something for which you are grateful.
