Hey, in this video I've got about a 3 1⁄2 pound ball of clay in the bottom left and right hand corners that are videos of the bottom completed.
So I'm centering the clay here. Just working it a little bit. Making it nice and smooth.
Starting to spread it out a little bit here. Pressing it down and spreading it out.
Looks like it's centered.
I'm going to spread it out a little bit more.
This round bowl will have a little larger base on it than some of the others.
Now I'm starting to open it up.
Starting to form the base of the bowl.
The interior base.
I'm starting to spread that out to the start of the walls on the side of the bowl.
Spreading it out and getting it kind of level.
Now I'm pressing it down really nice and smooth.
Starting to form the base.
Starting to do a hole on it here and spreading it out at the same time.
Again, this is going to be a round decorative bowl.
Now I'm going to compress the top edge there.
Make sure the lid on it is a little bit thicker.
Doing another hole and spreading it on there.
Now it's a little bit more round.
Then you've got to be a little more careful in the first place getting thinner.
I'm just doing a soft pull on it.
I'm tilting the lid as I go up near the lid.
Keeping the same angle as I hit the bottom with the lid.
Here I'm just really, really softly pushing out on my left hand on the inside of the sponge.
Rounding this out.
Real soft.
I've got a lot of clay there.
A lot of wall thickness.
It's looking pretty round.
I'm going to have to work on the upper lid.
That will be the finishing part of the bowl.
Perhaps clean up the interior of the bowl.
Mop up any extra moisture in the bottom and slowly clean that up.
Then it should be smooth out the lid and the bottom of the bowl.
That's pretty much it for this bowl.
