REITAN / MAJOROV (SWE) | Ice Dance Rhythm Dance | 2025 – Beijing

We open the group with the Swedish team, Mila Reiten and Nikolaj Myrov. She is 19, he is 25. Mila, born in Norway, formerly competed for Germany. Nikolaj was a single skater, competed at the 2022 Olympics in singles. He teamed up in 2023, Swedish champions, 17th at Europeans, 25th at Worlds. She made you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain. She'll make you live a crazy life or she'll take away your pain. Like a bullet to your brain. Up inside out, I should push and pull you down. In the pockets of my thoughts for you. Look at everyone and don't look back. I bet my life and let myself win. I miss you. But what impressed me so much about Nikolaj is that he doesn't look like he's fresh off of singles. Stylistically, the work has been done. It's exactly what I was going to say. Like I'm going, did he really skate at the Olympics in singles? 2022? I know, because he looks completely comfortable in ice dance. And as we take a look at the scores, high levels of GOE, good grade of execution, the quality score added to the base value of these elements. Because of the speed and the quality presented by this team. And I think we'll see, if not new leaders, very close to it. We'll find out. And as Rostislav Zinic joins in their coach, Ringside. The skating skills component score is the same for singles and for dance. But there is an unspoken stylistic difference. And I think undoubtedly Mila Stael showcases more line and aesthetic than Nikolaj does. But they have worked together so well. By this compliment stylistically, you can see him spotting. Even the concept of spotting a partner as a single skater is unique. Yeah, to pay attention to someone else when you were the only one on the ice for so long, right? But then you beg the question, you know, triple axel or spotting somebody else? I suppose perhaps that gives him a context of relaxation. Triple axel or twizzle? Yeah. Both difficult. You can see Mila does have gorgeous line. Beautiful body control. And that is an aspect of skating skills too. There we see what is the significant conclusion point to the pack dance type set sequence. A little hint to Tango Romantica, one of the most popular dances. Well, they look pretty happy with that performance. So they should be looking clean from this point. As we see the scores, they look good. Now we're seeing people that want more than just representation here. They want representation in the games. They feel they can be in the game here. Challenging for those spots. These numbers will tell the story. 69.30. A high five and a hug. And that puts them in first place with a great score. That may very well catapult them into contention. We'll see if more teams to come, of course.
