Good morning, Vienna. [gasps]
This is definitely an umbrella needing
rain
today. I only have a few hours before I
have to go catch a train. And I popped
into the local McDonald's yesterday just
to check out their menu. And Austria
McDonald's have a lot of cool stuff I've
never seen before. So, by the time I get
to McDonald's, it's going to be around
10:00. So, we'll try to do breakfast and
lunch at the local McDonald's. So, well,
so this is what a water fountain looks
like here in Austria.
This is a pretty nice looking, well, at
least a nice looking exterior for the
McDonald's.
Perfect. Still breakfast time. I'm
actually pretty excited [clears throat]
to eat here. There's avocado egg wraps.
Vianese breakfast. Huh. Okay, this is
the classic vianese [music] breakfast.
Bread roll, gluten-free, whole grain
roll. Let's do bread roll. Jam,
blueberry jam. Sure. Um, actually, if
you go to the mcafe area, there's stuff
that wasn't on the kiosk. [music]
There's bunch of cakes, pies. Also,
there's a donut croissant. And I wanted
to just try the regular croissant
to see what we're missing. So, for
breakfast, I got a chocolate mousse cake
that I saw was featured. This of course
is the croissant donut. Regular
croissant. This is the classic Vienna
breakfast.
This probably the the least good looking
thing here. This is like a like a little
toasty. And also I got to make wrap
drinkwise. This is pretty cool. Look at
this. This is a apple caramel drink. Hot
apple caramel drink. I thought I was
getting a chocolate. I might have not
selected chocolate. So
just milk and a cappuccino.
Cappuccino's really good.
Let's start off with our Mc Wrap. Oh,
this is pretty big actually. Inside,
scrambled eggs, tomatoes. I thought
there's supposed to be guacamole in
here. Maybe it's on the bottom. There's
definitely a lot of wasted real estate
here.
>> It's not bad. Oh, there's the guac. I'm
almost biting into it.
Correction. This is actually really
good. First of all, these are good eggs.
I've had scrambled eggs at McDonald's
before. They usually looks and tastes
pretty dry. These are actually fluffy
eggs. Also, I think they add a holiday
sauce in here, which is a really nice
touch. Plus, fresh tomatoes is actually
fresh tomatoes.
M. That's really good. And that's
without this thing having any bacon or
sausage. I mean, this is just eggs,
tomatoes, guacamole.
And it's already pretty darn good.
Imagine if I added some bacon or sausage
or something. Wow. Seriously fluffy.
Really, really tender. Eggs. [music] The
tomatoes a nice touch. The sauce is
good. Guacamole obviously really good as
well.
That a good breakfast wrap. This one I'm
not so sure about. Look at this. This
thing is just basically a flat bread
with a piece of cheese inside. Oh, look
at that.
I'm just gonna
That is horrible.
Just a really dense flatbread with one
slice of cheese and I think a slice of
ham. I can kind of see ham inside.
There's ham in there. The ham really not
making much of a difference.
Maybe if there was some sort of dipping
sauce because this is a lot of bread.
But just this is a huge mess. This is
the caramel apple hot drink.
Wow.
This is good.
It tastes like warm cinnamony apple
cider. I don't know what happened here.
I must have just [music] not ordered
chocolate in my chocolate milk
and now it's just sweet milk. I mean,
it's not bad. That was definitely my
mistake. The classic Austrian breakfast
is just bread and butter and jam. That's
it. Which has pretty much been the case
throughout Europe. The only time I
really had like a like a savory
breakfast has been in Florence. So, this
bread um I've seen all around Vienna.
It's definitely fresh bread. Toasty on
the outside, pretty airy inside.
It's a solid bread.
And this one is the wheat bread.
I mean, it's solid bread. It tastes
fine. I mean, I I really don't know what
I was expecting. I knew it was just
going to be bread and butter and jam.
Nothing wrong with it. Tastes good. I am
excited for this though. Since we are in
Europe, I just wanted to try the
different countries croissants. Oh, this
is not going to be a good croissant.
This is not going to be a good
croissant.
It's not a good croissant. This tastes
like a croissant that you will find in
McDonald's in the US. [music] I guess I
thought all European countries would
just have amazing croissants and Italy
definitely had super amazing croissants.
All right, that one's not great. The
inside not very flaky at all. Not really
airy. Kind of dense. The crust is all
right. Well, that's kind of
disappointing. This is the cronut
croissant donut. I still remember when
this thing first came out in New York
City at Dominic Ansils. And this must
have been like 20 years ago or
something. And the line was down the
block for years.
That's really dense. Really dense and
doughy.
I think this is the same problem they
have with the croissant. The outside is
all right, but inside just kind of
tastes like a dough ball. I think for
both of the pastries, the taste is fine,
but definitely a fail when it comes to
texture. Okay,
this got to be good. Oh, look at this
chocolate cake. Prediction. 10 out of
10. You can tell just by looking at it
how delicious [music]
is going to be. Oh, that's so soft. Oh,
wow. Oh, that is offering no resistance
at all. Wa.
>> Oh my gosh. Best thing at McDonald's so
far. It's a chocolate mousse cake that
is just so moist and [music] light.
The mousse,
>> hey baby.
>> Is incredibly
delicate.
Like so delicate. The cake is moist.
Wow, this is incredible. Yeah, this
definitely does not taste like it came
from McDonald's.
If you had this at like a fine dining
restaurant, you wouldn't even blink.
This is make redemption right here. All
right, I sat here for a bit and looks
like it is now lunchtime. I think lunch
is going to be awesome. I think it's
going to be way better than breakfast.
Check this out. Make crispy juicy
pineapple. Juicy pineapple premium wrap
1955 burger. Mcount. What? Let's make it
a meal. Oh, and check this out. Rustic
fries. Interesting. Let's go ahead
[music] and just get the 1955. Let's
take a junior just to try it out. Ooh,
camera bird donuts. Hot double sauce.
Please try some crispy chicken strips.
And let's check this out. Cranberry
sauce. Of course, got to get this
chocolate raspberry vanilla pie
signature sweet curry burger. Wa. All
right, this is my McDonald's lunch. I'm
actually super excited for [music] this.
So, um, I really wanted to try the beef
burger because just like a lot of other
European countries, Austria McDonald's
sources all their beef locally and they
have really high standards when it comes
to beef in this country. So, honestly, I
had pretty high expectations for this.
Also, this is my first time seeing this
rustic fries. Never even seen this fry
shape before. This is their signature
sweet curry burger and it is ginormous.
Wo! This thing is so big. It toppled
over in the box. I don't even know how
to pick this up now. I think this is
their sweet curry sauce. Oh my Whoa.
[music] Look at this. This is something
you don't see every day. A beautiful
almost perfect looking McDonald's bun.
Only time I've ever seen that was in
Japan. Yeah. Seriously, this thing is so
big. I've toppled over. Look at this
ginormous
beef patty. And just by kind of lifting
a little bit, you can already see that.
[music] Yeah, this thing's going to be
juicy. Oh, this is a beautiful looking
burger. Again, [music] probably the best
looking burger I've seen since Japan.
So, sweet curry sauce, giant patty,
bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce on the
bottom. Oh my gosh. Wo. Tell me this is
not an absolute gigantor of a burger.
This burger
heightwise, you know how you see a
picture for a burger, you get it like
squished to like a third of its size?
This might actually be the same height
as the ones you see in the ads.
This burger is so tall. I took what I
thought was a giant bite and I only
really just nicked it.
Wow.
It's a really awesome [music] burger.
Wow.
It's a messy burger, but it is an
awesome burger. The beef comes as
advertised. This thing is thick. It's
juicy. It definitely tastes a lot more
tender than your typical McDonald's
burger. You can even tell the difference
between this beef patty and what I had
back in Italy just a few days ago. Lot
more tender because here in Austria, the
cows just kind of roaming on grass. It's
all grass-fed cattle. So, the meat is
going to be more lean but more pristine
tasting. The only thing I don't like
about this burger is the buns. The
[snorts] bun is is kind of like it's not
much texture. It just breaks apart very
easily. I've never seen a McDonald bun
do this before. It just does not stick
together. It just kind of crumbly. I
almost have to eat this with a fork. I
might have to. This thing you can't even
pick it up anymore. But yeah, beef patty
though. Amazing. Amazing beef patty.
Probably one of the best I've had. Okay,
let's try this. This is the 1955 Junior.
Oh. Oh. Before that, sorry, sorry,
sorry. I meant to talk about this.
[music] This is the rustic fries. Again,
it's a fry shape I've never seen before.
Look at this. It's kind of like a like a
like a flat French fry that's that's
curled. Kind of looks like a curled up
potato wedge.
I love this so much. 10 out of 10. Way
better than any McDonald's fries [music]
ever. This is so good. Are you kidding
me? With this, I got some dipping sauce.
Let's dip it in the hot devil sauce.
Wow, these fries are amazing. You know
how like potato wedges, they taste
crispy on the outside, but inside it's
like super fluffy, thick potatoes. So,
for this thing, it's like they they
squished a potato wedge. So, now that
potato wedge is crispy everywhere.
Oh, wow. This sauce,
I think actually I had the sauce on a
burger in Italy. I told you guys this
sauce at least three times the heat
level of the Diablo sauce of Taco Bell.
At least three times,
maybe eight. If you're not into spicy,
if you can't take your heat, you won't
be able to handle this. This is really,
really spicy sauce.
I'm surprised they have this in Europe.
Not trying to say anything about the
European spice tolerance, but that's a
really spicy sauce. All I'm saying.
Okay, so this is a cam bear donut. It's
a little little cheesy doughnut.
Oh,
so good. Remember that um really dense
cheese nugget I had in Italy? This is
like the opposite of that. This thing is
crispy on the outside, inside a melty,
melty cam bear cheese.
This is the perfect cheese for this
crispy donut. I think this with a little
devil sauce.
This is so awesome. Okay, so [laughter]
[gasps] the 1955 Junior burger kind of
looks like a burger that's even smaller
than a McDonald's hamburger. Looks like
just a McDonald's hamburger patty with a
with a piece of cheese on here with a
piece of cheese and and some onions.
This does not look like a very
impressive
burger.
That's a McDonald's hamburger.
Again, I like the beef patty. This is
just a dressed up hamburger. Okay, let's
get to this before it gets too soggy.
[music]
This is the McDonald's crispy chicken
sandwich with a slice of pineapple.
Definitely adding some tropical flavors
to the sandwich. It's a good looking
sandwich. Piled high bacon cheese. Nice
thick slices of pineapple, onions
with curry sauce as well. That's good.
[snorts]
That's a good chicken sandwich. Really
crispy, juicy chicken. This is very,
very tender, juicy chicken here. Curry
sauce is very nice. The pineapple
definitely works here because you got
the you got the sweet curry sauce and
then you got a nice splash of sweet
citrus juice every time you bite into
the burger. The chicken is well done.
It's a solid sandwich. Good use of
pineapple. I think the first signature
burger I have, I'm going to knock off a
couple points for the bun. I'd say a
solid eight and a half. Chicken
sandwich. Chicken sandwich about a
borderline eight. The cheese donuts 10.
[music] 10. 10 all the way. Junior 1955
like a five. Yeah. 1955. Five. Okay.
[snorts] I got these chicken strips
because on the photos they looked very
very unique. Look at this. Oh. See? See
what I'm telling you? Look at this
breading. This thing looks really
[music] crispy inside. Doesn't quite
look like chicken.
The outside is way better than the
inside.
The inside tastes like what McNuggets
taste like,
but it's got kind of a funky texture.
I was right. I mean, it is very crispy
on the outside. Goes really well with
the devil sauce. I wish the US had the
sauce. [music] The sauce is so good. Of
all the countries that has this sauce,
I'm so shocked that I found this in
Europe. This is 100% something I would
expect to see in Asia, and I wish I
could see this in America. I would come
to McDonald's just so I can eat this
sauce. This sauce is amazing. 10 out of
10 on this sauce. So, chicken strips.
Say a six. [music]
I just keep going back to these fries.
So good. So what's left is the two
Mcountry and this is the Mcunch p. So I
got a Mcunchrey pork and a Mcunch beef.
So this is the Mcunch pork. I guess it
kind of looks like the McRib. I think
the McRib is definitely shaped like
this.
Yeah, it tastes like a McRib.
>> Onions, barbecue sauce. This bun is
delicious. Really soft and light and a
phenomenal chew. I give it a seven. Not
bad, huh? I think they gave me two of
the pork
pork, too. Oh, well, one last thing, and
I'm very, very excited for this.
This They do have a unique pie here.
This is the chocolate vanilla raspberry
pie.
Oh, heck yeah.
This tastes exactly how you would
expect.
Crispy, warm, chocolate, raspberry,
vanilla. That's obviously a winning
combo. Solid 10. I love it when I see
different pie flavors around the world
[music] at McDonald's. Yeah, that's an
absolute solid one. I can actually taste
the raspberry in the raspberry pie. Like
you can taste the raspberry seeds.
[music]
Raspberry jam right here. That's [music]
great. I think my favorite things today,
including breakfast, the chocolate cake
for sure. The signature beef burger,
amazing. The cheese donuts, the fries,
rustic fries. You got to try it. The
pie, of course. Oh, like I want to find
a bunch of these and just take it back
to the US. I think I might do that. This
is so so good. This hot devil sauce is
amazing. Any sandwich is absolutely
elevated by the sauce. I was adding
[music] this to everything. It's such
good sauce. Again, only if you like
spicy. Overall, I really love going to
McDonald's in in local countries cuz I'm
a beef person. I love it when their beef
burger tastes [music] really good. Like
I would actually come to McDonald's here
for a solid burger. And I'm glad I was
able to do this McDonald's review while
it's pouring rain outside. So least I
was able to get out of rank for a little
bit. Now I got to finish up and head to
the train station. Was pretty fun
spending a couple days here in Vienna.
Beautiful city. Like beautiful city. So
beautiful. The architecture is so sleek
and strong and clean. Glad I was able to
walk around, try a lot of the food.
People are super nice. Just a beautiful
place to visit. And as always, thank you
all so much for watching.
