So here we are pulling up at Rex Putnam High School in Portland, Oregon, and I'm teaming
up with Tampax to give their girls' soccer team a huge surprise. I'm really excited for it because
there's some girls on the team that have, you know, overcome some obstacles and one girl in
particular who has an ACL injury, which I can definitely relate to having that in high school.
First time I tore my ACL was April of 2013. It's definitely a pain I still have, like,
nightmares about. You know, we were supposed to be first in state that year. I was really sad.
When I heard Rachel's story, it's not easy to come back. I really give her credit for being
confident enough to, like, keep going and just knowing that there's light at the end of the
tunnel, and I just really hope she has a great year, and I really can't wait to meet her and
just get to know her and kind of share our stories. All right, guys, actually, let's hold
the balls there. Let's come over here, please. You know, one thing we preach is confidence,
and that's kind of what, you know, this season is about from last year coming in a bunch of young,
you know, soccer players this year. We grow, and with that, we grow with confidence,
and, yeah, actually, we want to reward you guys for your hard work, and we have a special
guest to train with you guys today a little bit. Hi, you guys. You guys can say hi.
I think I'm just going to join in your practice, maybe. What do you guys think? Hang out, yeah.
That sound good? When I first saw her eyes, I, like, started tearing up. I was so surprised when
I saw her. I just got, like, this happy feeling. I couldn't stop smiling. I couldn't say anything
either. I was like, oh, my God, she's here. Like, she's at our school. It's kind of like
seeing your role model. I mean, it's like, oh, my goodness, she's here watching us.
So it was cool. Well, I'm playing with you, not just watching you guys. I think, like,
the important thing about sports is, like, it's 50% mental and 50% physical, like, in the way that
coming back from injury, you don't want to feel like, oh, is my knee feeling okay? Like,
it's, like, in the back of your mind, and then your confidence gets a little shot. So
it's all together, but just kind of, like, having that belief, I guess, is the most important thing.
Awesome, too, that she got to be in our practice, because I think that just made us all look up to
her that much more, to see, like, her skill and, like, just her talking about confidence and how
she brings up, like, our confidence. I just want to say thank you so much to Tampax for coming to
our school and our team and, like, giving us that confidence and that extra boost.
I want to do a selfie. All right. Ready? One, two, three. Tampax!
In partnership with Tampax Proactive, I want girls everywhere to have the confidence,
comfort, and protection to run, play, and give it their all any day of the month.
