WILDEST RUT ACTION (I’ve never had a day like this)

October 19th, good wind, good pressure, gonna be a good day in the woods, all the way to the woods. Up in the stand sitting buck nest spot. Caitlin and I sat here a couple days ago and just got absolutely blown out with wind it was just so windy we didn't see any deer but we got a slightly different wind than we sat the other night to kind of see it maybe if we if we get busted or kind of what the deer are doing. There's a couple good bucks in here there's a buck we call Mo, big old eight point probably gonna have to shoot him if he comes by a couple other deer kind of floating around that if they look at us look at us wrong we might shoot him but yeah kind of looking forward to tonight winds died down after about three days of just nasty winds so I have a feeling that deer are going to be moving. Here we're seeing why it felt really good but back up. It's November 5th here in Iowa we haven't been hunting the past week it's been 75 degrees and rainy and windy and just nasty I ripped down Ohio shot turkey foot which was awesome on Halloween came back just kind of been laying low we're hitting it hard it's raining hard this morning but we got a cold snap that rolled in and as soon as this rain quits we're running to the stand we actually are going to be hunting a new piece that I kind of just picked up no intel really very very very little intel on it I hung a couple stands and the nasty weather is a good buck right there. They're running man I wish I wish we had a situation where we weren't going to get soaked I really don't want to get soaked. It's 10 30 now we took a good little nap and it's just been pouring rain and very windy and cameras have been kind of dead we just been sitting here just kind of glass and we can see a good bit and not a whole lot it's moving on until right now whoa I'm not even kidding that just came in that's a big deer that is a cool deer wow they're moving we're gonna get in the stand guys I'm so excited new property and we're gonna bang the horns together see what comes up here we go heading in first sit on this farm I'm I'm pumped it feels good man banging the horns together 220 is gonna come running that'd be something up in the stand we're sitting just this big oak ridge just kind of plopped this stand here two days ago fresh grape bunch of rubs around so I think it's gonna be a great spot to rattle because we got a big open pasture behind us that our wind is is blowing on so but it's uh it's gonna be shouldn't be pretty bulletproof with the wind and kind of the setup so I think we're gonna rattle here in a second that was unreal what I thought I said we're gonna rattle something come up here and rattle something beautiful three-year-old that was a big that was a nice three-year-old midday cruiser that's why you stop right there we just got our winds to seven point he's mature though that's the one deer that I actually have a photo of if he came by and stood like right here that'd be tough to tough to pass him but he kind of skirted us and came downwind no that's our big one the big 10 is right there and we see um a really nice 10 point back in this thick bedding probably 150 yards but he's with the doe he's just like a clean 10 but has a big dagger it looks like coming out of his base but he's tied up with the doe I don't think he's leaving leaving but he rattled back in that that eight point that was in here earlier just a wild morning afternoon it's midday it's 2 30 right now just one of those magical days man 3 30 doe and he came by 40 yards it's good that there's a doe and he around because I guarantee other bucks are gonna run her same track all throughout the night but that was that same night point I came through earlier really pretty deer young two or three year old probably three year old but just an unbelievable day so far we've seen that deer three times what is he no he's broken no just came in behind us man I'm shaking dude he was two yards behind us I had no shot anywhere I'm shaking now yeah he's got that kicker out the bottom wow dude I didn't think today could get any better dude do you see him still dude so many he was literally directly below us that was cool man oh that just he just needed to go we got in a lot later than I wanted is he I underestimated our drive in just like the entire morning so it's probably 20-30 minutes past legal shooting light we got a little forky right here our wind is it's just this front came through and it's being swirly we got west southwest changing to north so this stands good for like a what oh I thought you saw something but as soon as this little buck leave he's probably gonna rattle because this is a good rattling spot and we stand today another deer on that ridge I'm gonna rattle to see if we can get him I don't know who he is this place is nuts man what do you think is he he's a good deer but still just barely man that's 150 inch deer that was a pretty deer it's probably been 20 minutes since we had that good one come in he's just I'm being really picky guys this is really the only place in the entire world I'd be picky like this really like five years ago I would have had a heart attack if I did that hopefully it's all worth it okay we just got down midday it's noon which is really one o'clock because we had our time change thing happen yesterday but I want to go hang a stand in preparation for some east winds that we got coming I got one spot but I really want to get a another spot so we're gonna do that midday maybe go grab some caffeine from the gas station and and then sit back up we just left everything in the stand I don't love it but we got a good easy access for east northeast north and just need another spot for some east so there's a lot of trees especially back up in closer to bedding even back in here so be able to sit later this week and see and maybe readjust
