Iconic Corsair: My Incredible First Flight

Nice Okay No, I gotta I I got I got those flaps are not not working very well What's up guys welcome back to the channel it's eli with eli rc planes and today look at this beauty man the f4u Corsair the 1600 now you've seen a plane like this similar to this one From bob that he has one. That's very nice. And I Love the way it flies now. I just picked up this from my friend q you remember q right? I crashed his a10 but he was getting rid of it and I said I wanted it. So here it is f4u corsair 1600 so i'm gonna put this in the air. This is gonna be my maiden flight. Um, I had to fix some stuff with it, but ah, hopefully, uh It'll still be good. So let's put it up in the air. All right, so here we go Hopefully everything's going on it It's gonna be a maiden flight for this baby and Oh, it's turning it's turning good. So that's good All right i'm gonna go with my Take off flaps Let's go Oh my god, that takes off really nice All right Wow All right. I do need some trim All right. Let's uh, let's trim this out real quick Let's see A little bit of that trim I need some down trim All right. Sorry guys. I uh I'm a one-man show here Okay, so let's see I need a lot of ailerons to that side. Well, this is this is really High rates, let me lower the rates okay, so All right, it seems pretty steady now Maybe more Aileron, there we go All right Well, I will say It's very responsive. Now. This is mid-ray that I have it on right now Here we go nice Okay All right No throttle All right Okay so far so good Let's bring it a little bit down Do a little bit of a low pass Now that back retractable gear Um, the servo is bad on it. So I gotta replace that All right, man Oh man, this this is so beautiful. I always wanted to have a corsair man. Let me put it back in high rates and do nice So nice So nice so nice. Let's see This is half flaps and full flaps No, I gotta I I got I got those flaps or not they're not working very well Um, I just remember one of the the servos because it's got four servos for the flaps and one of them is not on So that's probably why it's giving me such a hard time um But uh, but yeah But so far man. Oh my god. I love this plane. I love the way it looks All right. So what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna practice my approach Let's see And it's a little windy But let's practice this All right, well So much for practicing the approach Uh, but yeah, well at least I got it back down in one piece And I am gonna call it a day because I just realized I gotta fix fix that servo But uh, there it is the f4u corsair This is a 1600. It's running on a six cell battery um, and uh, yeah, I can't wait to uh, Put this back together the way it's supposed to And uh give you some more content on it, man. I i'm really excited about this I really wanted to have this plane and now I have one so there it is. What's up guys? Uh, so I promise you guys a good landing and uh, hopefully that's what we'll get so, uh this here it is again a second flight Bring it up. It's a step. It's a different day. But you know, and it is a little windy As you can see we've got a little bit of a crosswind, but I am confident enough in this plane. That's it's heavy. It's big Um, and it'll handle the wind pretty good. So, uh, let's put this baby in up in the air and let's see All right And i'm gonna be taking off with the flaps because the flaps seem to be working you first put them on but then Afterwards, I don't know what's going on. But if they don't work one of them doesn't work So, uh, here we go Look how fast I took off bro. Oh my god All right, you can see it's already getting tossed around by the wind but definitely man it's uh It's a majestic plane. Look at this And it uh, it seems to be pretty doing pretty good. That is a half throttle right now It seems to be handling the wind pretty good So I feel pretty confident let's uh, let's do some acrobatics let's uh Rolls Okay It does uh look pretty good to a full speed pass So the one bad thing about it is because it's all blue like this Sometimes you can lose orientation So you don't know if it's going if it's coming if it's upside down or what? The one thing that helps Is uh the wings? because the wind tips the wings are are Um bent like that then, you know, it kind of helps you know where the plane is Man, I love this plane bro a little pass over here um Let's uh, let's do this. Let's uh, let's fly it upside down. Let me let me put it up a little bit more See how it does Oh, it flies upside down really good I'm barely putting any input. Let's see if it gets out of it Yes, it does All right Love it. Love it man. Love it All right, let me give it some speed because I don't want to stall it Look at that Love love love love the way this looks man I mean it flies amazing It flies really good But it just it looks so incredible in the air man so scale Now if you know me, I you know that I love I love a good war Warbird And this is definitely one of the most iconic and one of my favorite warbirds of all time Let's see full throttle All right, here we go That's no throttle right now There you go throttle back on the throttle a knife edge It's a little tough because we got a crosswind but definitely man if um If you know anything about a corsair Um, you know when they first built them they they they had a lot of problems um when they were trying to land them on a on a On a on a carrier in the navy so they had to kind of Um do some changes to it and then the british got it and they did some changes And it was a lot easier to to land But you know because of the way of the wings The cockpit sits really far up and back so the the um the pilot didn't couldn't really uh Tell really good, uh their approach because they couldn't see But man all right guys, so sorry about that, but uh for some reason my Camera start stop recording. So I promise you a good landing. So, uh, let's go There you go one up gears up Yeah, I by the way, I love how scale the the gears are let's uh See if we can get a hold of Yeah There you go All right So let's bring her in is uh You know I missed the landing Let's see All right. Let's uh bring her in Let's see Oh, oh, no. No, I guess not Let's just abort Man I promise you guys a good landing So let's try that again one more time All right. All right. Let's see Well, I guess not man Not having any luck All right, oh let's try it one more time guys one more time Let's see Let's not hit that Oh, man that I have to redeem myself Let's do this. Let me go put it on a fresh battery and let's uh, put this back up in the air All right guys, so sorry about that but I promise you a good landing so Let's do this. Let's do a good landing And we still got a crosswind. So All right Let's go gears up all right, so Let's see. I'm gonna cycle the gears to see if we can catch it on camera There you go All right Okay, and then let's do the same thing. But the other way Cycle them down see if we can catch that There we go All right So let's set up for this landing um I got my flaps down Let's see if uh Got the landing flaps Yeah Okay At least that's working I think nope. It's not working my flaps down. Let me see Flaps down on one side. Okay. Oh, I guess no flaps then Yeah, I don't know All right. Let's see Let's try to bring her down nice and easy Let's see if we can do this All right, not too bad. Not too bad Not too shabby Okay. All right I mean there was a little bit of a bounce but You guys are not gonna judge me for that.
