Hi guys, welcome back to our channel. Home is where our heart is. Today we have been gathering
some beautiful dandelions. One man's weed is another lady's treasure. Yeah. We're going to
make some, we're going to make some dandelion honey today. So if you come with us we'll teach
you how to make it. It's really super easy. It's super easy. It's actually a syrup because today
we are going to play the part of the bees and turn it into a delicious honey. So the ingredients
you're going to need are really simple. Four ingredients today. You're going to need one big
bowl of dandelions, one or two lemons, however many you fancy, a litre of water and one kg of
brown sugar. And that's all you need to make this delicious alternative honey. Four ingredients.
Peace. Dandelion seeds are often carried as many as five miles away.
A dandelion is taken from the French word
lion's tooth, referring to the coarsely toothed leaves of the plant.
The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep.
We're home and we'll show you how to make it. All you do is get your
dandelions, give them a good rinse and then drop up one lemon and one litre of lovely water.
Then you add your dandelions all into the water and your lemons. Bring it to the boil
and then let it simmer for 30 minutes. Now it's time to strain our lovely dandelions.
And this juice. I wish we had a smell-o-vision because even without the sugar it already smells
like honey. After you've strained it you'll end up with a bowl of this delicious smelling juice.
Smells amazing. Smells like honey already and it's just lemons and
dandelions and water. So we're going to add the sugar right now.
Add your lovely dandelion and lemon juice into your big pan after you've simmered it out.
Now shall we pour it in? Add one kg of brown sugar. Yep, pour it in.
I did it all. All right. Simmer and stir for one hour. If you find that a lot of
foam builds up on the top then you just scoop it off because you want to keep it a bit clear.
Now we're going to pour it in the jar.
Wow. And we've just got to let it cool down so it thickens up.
With the extra bit we got fill up this jar too. Of dandelion honey. Amazing. So much.
Wowzers. A bit more. All made from what people call a weed.
There's more. What should we do with that? We need to find another jar don't we Bjorn?
Hi guys. So there you have it. Our beautiful dandelion honey syrup. It's so yummy and
delicious. Look how much we got. That only cost us a grand total of £2.50 to make all that honey.
Yeah we've got one big jar, medium and small jar that we're going to give away
to your mum tomorrow aren't we? Yeah and don't worry if when you finish it's runny
because as it cools that's when it gets thicker. It's been cooling for about nearly an hour now
so it's time for the taste test.
Ladies first. Thank you. Wow it's so gloopy now.
If you're wondering what we're going to do with it, most of the time we're just going to put it
in our tea instead of sugar. What does it taste like? It tastes amazing. It's so delicious and
even more so because we made it ourselves. From weeds. There's no such thing as a weed.
A weed is just a flower growing where someone doesn't want it to.
Tastes like dandelions and lemons. Yeah dandelions and lemons. It's so good. It's so yummy.
Please have a go at making this yourselves and let us know how it goes because I
personally am over the moon. We can now have honey on bread with the kids for a nice pudding,
honey in our tea and yeah £2.50 it's not bad. It's amazing. And from weeds.
Completely from weeds. A beautiful dandelion. She'll look at it in a completely new way now.
We'll see you all soon. Thanks for watching guys. Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
Peace. And fondly I watched her move here and move there and then she turned homeward with one star
like the swan in the evening moves over the lake
