That's a big forky. Oh yeah I didn't see that one to the right. That's
far right. Looked big a second ago. There we go. That's a good four by next to the fork.
I see him. I think that's our same buck from yesterday morning. Okay. Yeah I want to see
this far right deer because it looked big when I saw him skyline a second ago. It's not as big
as the other. No that four by is the biggest one. Oh that one bedded down. The two by did didn't he?
Yeah. So okay so there's a four by. Yeah. So just the right of him about three feet inline's gonna
pick his head up. He's semi stealth because the wind's not crazy. It weighs away until we get in
a row that we can go straight at him in. Walk to 200, crawl to 100. Well good morning everyone.
We have spotted some nice deer. We spotted the inline buck again and we're gonna try to get
Derek to kill one of these suckers. Correct. He's right. He's gonna die running in the milo.
We're gonna shoot him from the actually the edge of a cut where we're not even in the milo but he
still is. We have a beautiful little hide and they're starting and a couple of the first bucks
have already jumped into a cut. They're coming down so we know where he's gonna cross. Actually
yeah I completely changed my mind. He's gonna die in a cut. He's not gonna die in the milo.
So we're gonna watch where they're coming down into. We're gonna get
just downwind of it. Yeah I got it all figured out. Don't I got this figured out or you need
to need to watch the rest. That's just what's gonna happen. So for a pre-recap that's what
that's what happens in about an hour. Should I honk? Oh god. We do. To not honk. I just won't
shut my door. I won't shut my door all the way. No then that's gonna honk when you shut the door.
Yeah he figured it out yesterday. We're in position. We got the milo field up above us.
With the wind and everything though it's a good idea to be down here so
we're just gonna pop up. Hopefully they're uh hopefully they're within scene distance.
Oh I see a big one. Right on the fence line. I don't know. Yeah. Dubai's behind him.
Just watch behind them all for a big boy. We might be able to pop over and kill this
right now. Yeah right here. Yeah. Oh he's big though. This one? Yeah. So the second the second
one that passed. Yeah. All right watch real careful if he's in there but if he's not in
there I want to go right here. Oh he's right here. Right right. That's fine if he goes down.
He's so sweet. That's all right. That's I mean they're just going to the next cut.
All right so we found the bucks from the milo. We came up from the back of them through the cuts.
And got here at about the perfect time. We were just one cut back from where we needed to be for
a good shot. So we kind of let him get down in. Watched him go over into this next cut and the
smallest one is he took off. We kind of bumped him moving in on the bigger ones. But he's out
of the picture now which is good and all three of these bucks are shooters. So we're gonna sit
tight. We can see if they come out anywhere. So we know they're in this finger right now. So
we're just gonna let him chill out. Get comfortable. We'll have good wind all day. So
we're just gonna work it real slow. We've been sitting here for a while.
It was cloudy a second ago which would hide our shadow but now it's not. So
we're just gonna take it real slow. We think there's one deer in the first cut. Two deer in
the second cut. We're gonna peek up real slow. He's gonna be bedded right there. 34 yards dead.
Range, range, range.
We gotta go. Well this is pretty much our last cut to check at like eight yards. All I could
see was the left side of his head and his body was behind a big burb and he stood up kind of
randomly and it was like we're in the wide open and he got out of there pulled back thought he
might stop at like 30 or 40 and he didn't and we watched him lay across the milo. He also ran
through one of the cuts that we thought the other bucks were in. So if they're not in here we have
pretty much no idea past them. I see the two by Mickey. We gotta get back but our wind how did
they not smell us? I don't know what to do now whether we go back and blow our wind at him again
I just saw I was like that's the two by.
Come up under him. We gotta get lucky again. I think that was negative yardage. He's dead.
Yeah it's back but you see how much blood was coming out of that deer? Like like I think I
saw him do a freaking somersault right there. Oh man dude I've never shot that close in my life.
His left side was his entry. He's bedded up against the not against the other cliff not
against the other side he's bedded leaning against me. He was facing right downhill
shoved right up against the wall. He's leaning into the thing so I'm down on this side
and do his he's like he picture him like this you know and I hit him right here.
Negative two. I'll show you let's go look. Here I am you can see his bed right there.
That's probably why it was 5.5. Line of sight? I don't know. Or no that's compensated.
So 5.2. Yeah. What's that look at the degree on it 49 degree angle. I should have came up
tight with you right here. It's so risky dude. I could see I could see him blinking.
Probably died right by the truck. He might have died right by the truck yeah. I did that I wanted
him to get there for you guys. But what's he barreled out of here and the blood trail is
going to be like Armageddon when we get on it. He was bedded head this way laying like this
straight up dude and he was I mean he was tucked like I thought I was gonna hit this.
I see him dead. That's tough.
Yeah. I mean he probably would have bedded and died there. Probably. Makes your tummy hurt a
little bit. It's a bummer. It's not how you want it to work. Oh we got him. Ran up here well not
really ran up here but we followed blood all the way here came around the corner and he was
he was kind of he was standing up in here just got out of a bed and he was in rough shape so
put another arrow in him he's dead now ran back and got the truck and pulled it up and
we're gonna check him out. That is cool. Dude look how big his forehead is. Oh he does have
okay so I did see a brow on that side I wasn't crazy. Yeah it's an old deer just a big old
it's a hoss. Yeah that first shot from above him was just a little back but it did did what it
needed to. He was in rough shape. Man look at that. That is sweet. Look at this fork on that side.
That's sweet. He's cool. He's wide. Framey. Hey thanks buddy. This is fun. We've been through it.
One of these times it was bound to work you know. Well we just had that conversation yesterday
where it's like you just have persistence. You just got to put yourself in enough situations
eventually one will pan out. Put yourself in deer eventually the deer will do what you need them to.
He didn't really do what we needed him to we really had to work for it.
Shoot him at negative two yards. The great thing about this is there's the deer and there's the
truck somewhere right there. Well guys that is the end of this Nebraska little short series.
So hope you guys enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun. We tagged out Derek and I
on one great buck and one good buck. Had a lot a lot of good times and a lot of good memories and
that's it we're done. Catch you guys on the next one.
