Are you ready to design like you've never done before?
Look at what Procreate is capable of with the right digital brushes.
Introducing the fractal brushes for Procreate.
Hi, I'm Thorgeir. I'm an artist living in Iceland and today I want to show you
my brand new brush pack that I just developed for Procreate.
Now, I've been selling digital brushes for a while now and I can tell you that
these are some of the most unique and high quality brushes that I have ever made.
Let me tell you all about it.
So a few years ago, I was playing around with this software that creates fractals
using mathematical formulas.
But what are fractals?
Well, in essence, they are mathematical structures often found in nature,
like cauliflower, roots, leaves, trees.
But for the purposes of digital art, you can think about them like images
that you can zoom into infinitely.
And there's always more detail to be seen.
Now, I completely fell in love with this technique and started creating
hundreds of these fractals with all sorts of properties, colors and shapes.
I didn't really have much use for them at the time.
They just sort of stockpiled on my hard drive.
But a few months ago, I had an idea.
What if I use these fractals to create digital brushes?
In theory, we could essentially create infinitely detailed artworks with almost no effort.
I was completely captivated by this idea and soon started experimenting
by rendering out these fractals in ultra high resolution
and then using that as the foundation for the appropriate brush.
Now, how is a fractal a foundation for a digital brush?
Well, you can think about it like a scratch of lottery ticket.
What is essentially happening is you're revealing the underlying detail of the ticket
by applying pressure to it.
That is essentially what is happening with the appropriate brush.
You're revealing the underlying fractal.
But add to that the complex interactions of hundreds of brush parameters,
which fuse blending modes, shapes and other brush dynamics into the drawing experience.
And the result of that is a completely unique drawing experience.
Now, I probably spent around eight months perfecting the exact parameters
which make these brushes work,
which is why I'm super excited to be showing you what they can do for your art.
The brush pack contains seven brushes,
each of them made from their own unique fractal by rendering it out in 8K resolution.
Now, why 8K resolution?
Well, that's because that is the maximum amount that my iPad can currently support
without simply crashing the Procreate app.
So I chose 8K as a sort of nice compromise between quality, performance and stability.
Now, that is a lot of detail that you can work with.
But aside from being high resolution, what else can they do?
Well, here we have a standard brush for Procreate.
As you can see, it's fairly predictable.
You put the pencil down,
and ink comes out roughly around the place where you put the pencil down.
This, however, is one of the fractal brushes
laying down intricate and vibrant shapes on the canvas in a very short amount of time.
The way that the brushes go down on the canvas is random.
So with a simple stroke, you have now created a completely unique artwork
that you can show off, sell as an artwork or as a product.
Slap this on some shoes, t-shirt or hoodie, and voila!
You have now created a totally unique design with very little effort.
Now, I wanted to make sure that the brush pack works for all devices,
regardless of how powerful they are.
But during beta testing, some of the nice folks that helped me test the brushes,
they found out that the 8K brushes are just a little bit too much
for the slower devices out there.
Which is why I decided to make a separate lower resolution version of the brush pack.
It still has all the same collection of brushes,
but just at a lower resolution.
So they should work on lower spec devices.
But if you want the best of the best and your device supports it,
then there's nothing really like the 8K brushes.
Now, I want you to be able to try these brushes out before you buy them,
which is why I have a free demo brush pack available for you.
So if you want to try out to see what the brush pack is all about,
then you can go ahead and download that for free.
Now, in the demo pack, you'll also find a calibration brush,
which is meant to help you test your device to see if it's compatible with the 8K brushes.
Now, if your device crashes while using the 8K brush,
oh, then I would highly recommend using the HD version instead.
With the fractal brushes,
Procreate becomes the most powerful design app on the iPad or the iPhone.
You can use these brushes to create complex designs in seconds.
