LUXURY DINING ROOM MAKEOVER. HOW TO CREATE A COZY LUXURIOUS DININGROOM ON A BUDJET. START TO FINISH

Are you thinking about giving your home a quick and easy refresh, but also on a budget? Well, this video is just for you. I have been doing a simple DIY home decor series, and in today's video, we are going to be cleaning and decorating my dining room. I'm gonna be showing you some quick and easy things that you can do to give your dining room a simple, budget-friendly, but luxurious facelift. With that said, let's get into the video. All right, family, let's get started here. So this is what the dining room looks like, and these are some of the things that we are gonna be using today. Remember to check out the description box because I'm gonna be telling you where I got everything. I'll either leave a link, or I'll tell you where you can get the items from if I don't have links for them. So make sure to pay attention to the pinned products, and also check out the description box. Again, this is what the living room looks like. As you can see, it's not bad. It's very simple, very minimalist, and we are going to give it a quick little facelift, and I'm gonna tell you some of the things that you can also do in your own home to give it that luxurious look, but also on a budget. All right, family, so these are the old curtains. These are the curtains that I had up previously, but I decided to upgrade it because you'll see why. I'll tell you exactly why, but yes, these are the old curtains. I'm gonna show you where I got the new ones from, and as I said, I'm gonna pin or link it, so pay attention to that. So right now, I have the shared curtains there, and again, I wanna give it a more luxurious look, and I also just wanna make the place a little more cohesive with the other spaces, which includes the living room and the kitchen. So with that said, again, these are some of the things that I got, and as I decorate, I'm gonna tell you exactly where I got the stuff from, and you can see if you'll be able to find them there as well. So with that said, let's go ahead and get started. All right, family, so the first thing we're gonna be doing is we are going to be working on the curtains. As you can see, I got these very long curtain rods. I actually got these from HomeGoods. I forget the length, but they have pretty long length. So the second thing here is our curtain. I got the curtain from Amazon, so I'll either link it or I'll have it in the description box, but these are really nice blackout curtains. They are linen, and they're also 108 inches long, which means they will hang all the way from the ceiling down to the floor, and this is one of the simplest ways to give your room that luxurious, grand look. When the curtains are too short, it gives it that awkward look when they're hanging off the floors. Again, it's not a really good look. It's still functional, but it's not a really good look. But remember, we are trying to create this luxurious space, and in order to do that, we have to have the curtains all the way up as high as we can and as close to the ceiling as possible. So that is what I'm doing here. So I will also be using the shared curtains, and I'll show you exactly how I'm gonna use that later. But I wanted to use these fabric curtains because, again, they give the place a more elevated look. The shared curtains gave it, I feel like, a more relaxed look. So, again, that's not what we're going for. We are going for this grand look to kind of match the living room. If you haven't seen the living room video, I will link it below. It will be the first video linked below. Go ahead and check it out. It's really, really nice. We gave the living room a complete facelift makeover, and a lot of you guys really liked that video. So, again, if you haven't checked it out, go check it out now. Well, you gotta watch this video first, and then go check it out. Anyway, I'm just trying to put the curtains on. As you can see there, I have the linen curtain and also the shared curtain in the middle, and then I also have the linen curtain on the end. I will be removing the shared curtains later. I have to get the curtain rod to do that. So, it's not gonna stay like that, but for the purpose of the video, I didn't have time to go and get the curtain rod, as you see me do on the bigger window here. So, the rule is not to put all of your curtains on one, I guess, curtain rod. So, the best way to do it is to have your, I guess, your fancier curtain on its own rod, and then if you do wanna add linen curtains for more privacy, you can use a different curtain rod. So, those curtain rods I actually got from Walmart, and they were very inexpensive. I think it was like $5 for the longest one, and I forgot to get the shorter one for the other two windows. And as I said, I'm gonna get that later, and maybe I'll do a video to update you guys on how I did that. But the look you see on the bigger window here is what it's gonna look like. So, the chair curtain has its own moment, and I can open and close the window as I please. And then the linen curtain has its own, I guess, curtain rod as well, and I can close that if I want to. Most likely, it's gonna stay like that. This is only for decor purposes. As you can see, we have the blinds, and we also have the chair curtains, again, to create that privacy. So, the linen curtain is mostly for design. And I hate the fact that I didn't get, you know, the smaller curtain rod to be able to put the chair curtain on its own curtain rod so you can see how it's gonna look. But again, I'll do an updated video so you can see that. So, the curtains are up. I realized that the longer curtain, the rod, it's a little bit off, so I'm gonna go ahead and fix that. I only saw that as I was editing this video. So anyway, after putting the curtains up, it was pretty late, so I got tired, so I went to sleep. Today is a brand new day. We're gonna go ahead and continue with the cleaning, and then we're gonna go ahead and decorate the dining room. So, first thing first, what I'm doing here is I'm vacuuming the floors. As you can see here, I don't know if you guys remember, but this rug is from the living room. So, I took the rug from the living room and brought it into the dining room. The living room, as you can see there, needed a brand new rug, and it looks absolutely amazing. I'm gonna go with a much larger rug later, but it's really hard to find, and they're kind of expensive, if we're being honest. So, the one we have there right now will do. Back to the dining room. I'm done with the floors. Let's go ahead and start the decor process. But first thing first, let's go ahead and clean the mirror. This mirror, you guys, if you are an OG, you know the story about the mirror. I've done a lot with this mirror, and I'm still trying to figure it out. But right now, it works perfectly. It brings the gold acid metallic pieces that I like in my home. So, if you go throughout my home, you'll see gold pieces here and there. So, the home is mostly neutral, but my metallic piece, or I guess my metallic taste, is gold. So, you'll see gold here and there throughout the house, okay? So, anyway, let's move on to the dining table. This table I've had for a while. I really, really like it. It's heavy duty, and it seats about six people. I just love the wood, and I love the fact that it has different wood tones to it. I really, really like that. It matches a lot of the other things in the home. So, anyway, just cleaning it off, and we're gonna go ahead and start the setup. All right, family, our buffet table is clean and ready. So, let's go ahead and start decorating it. So, the first thing I'm gonna put here is this vase. I got the vase from HomeGoods a while back. It's heavy, and it's really good quality. It's not those foam ones. It's actual good quality. The next things here are these branches. I got the branches from at home. They're just regular branches. You'll find these when you go to the flower section. The first ones were simple. These ones are more, they look more like branches, and they came in a whole different pack, and it was, I think, $14.99 for those three. I know, but the straighter ones were $10.99. So, I wanted to mix them up here, and I wanted to put something big and grand here just to bring out the natural tones a little bit. Next thing here, we're going with our tray of moss. I think that's what these are called. I got the tray from Burlington, and it's gold. I actually have two of those. So, I'm gonna set that here to bring a little green in the space for a little pop of color, if that's what you wanna call it. The second trays here are the black and white. I'm sorry, black and gold. I got them from Burlington as well. So, I'm gonna go ahead and set these here. So, the gold tray actually matches the other one on the other side, but this one is smaller, and I decided to set it in another tray to create this look. All right, family. So, that is it for the buffet table. It's nice and simple. We're going for a more minimum look in the dining room here. I don't want it to be cluttered, because when you stand from upstairs and look down, if you have too much going on, it looks like it's a little bit cluttered. So, I wanna keep it clean, spacious, and very, very minimum. Okay, so, moving on to the actual dining table. I got this beautiful vase from At Home. It was, I think, $39.99. Very simple. I love the shape of it. Really, really like it. I'm probably gonna DIY that some more in the future, but for now, we're keeping it as is, and I'm just adding these beautiful green, I guess, greenery in the vase here, and that is all we're gonna do on the dining room table. I usually don't decorate my dining room table with the plates and stuff, only for the holidays, only for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but throughout the year, I like to keep it nice and simple, because we do eat here a lot, all right? So, that is all for the dining table. Let's go ahead and put everything back on. All right, so, we're coming back in with the dining room chairs. The dining room chairs have the wood tones. It has the cream fabric that I like, and it also has some black metal accents on it, which is great, because it matches everything else. So, as I was bringing the dining chairs back in, I decided to go back in and just mess with the curtains a little bit, because I saw that a lot of them were out of place. But anyway, bringing back the rest of the chairs, again, there are six chairs on this table, and the chairs are pretty large, as you can see, compared to my body. So, the pieces here are pretty large, and I'm keeping them on a larger scale, because the room itself is large. I don't know if you can tell, or if it looks like it, but I like to keep things on a larger scale for a larger room, and if you have a small room, you don't wanna put big or large furniture pieces in there. You wanna put smaller pieces so it doesn't clutter the room as well. But again, the goal is to not only have the large pieces of furnitures and decor pieces, but also to keep it on a very, very simple and minimum scale, I guess. So yeah, just bringing back in the dining chairs, and again, messing with the curtains a little bit. I'm trying to make sure that it looks neat. It just doesn't look nice, but it also looks neat. That's the goal here. All right, family, so bringing back in my olive tree. I talked about this olive tree on my TikTok. I actually got it from the TikTok shop, and they also have it on Amazon. So I'll try to link it for you guys. So just fluffing my olive tree. I love the fact that the tree is not super tall, not super big, it's just really minimum. But I also wanted to bring some greens here, so this is the perfect space for it. All right, family, so moving on to my flowers. Let me tell you a little story about these flowers. I've actually had these flowers for about two weeks now. They are actually dying, but they still look kind of good. I always like to have fresh flowers in the home because it just brings life. I love my fake or full flowers and trees and leaves, but I also like the fresh flowers. So I'm changing out the water, adding some ice to give it a few more days. And yeah, after that, it's gonna be time for it to go. But as you can see there, some of the branches are falling off, but some of them are still very much alive. And the flowers, they were so pretty when I first got them, and I feel like they still, it still has some life. So yeah, I changed out the water, added some ice. A lot of people ask me about the ice. The ice just makes it, it just gives it more life, I guess. But yeah, family, this is what the dining room looks like. As I said, it's very minimum, very simple. I didn't overdo anything, but when you walk in here, it also gives you that homey or homely grand look. Just because of the simple updates that I did here. So the curtains, for example, they go all the way up to the ceiling. So when you walk in here, it gives you that grand look, and it takes your eyes up to the ceiling. And it also creates a taller room. It gives the room an illusion of a taller room. So if you have those eight foot ceiling rooms, try this. It works perfectly. The curtains are really great quality, as you can see here. I love the gold accent pieces. I love, you know, just the simple look of everything. Again, because this is such a big open space with the dining room, the kitchen, and the living room, I want to keep certain places not so stuffed. The living room, I went all out for the living room, okay? But for the dining room, I wanted to keep it simple, keep it spacious, because again, we do come in here a lot. We use it for eating. Sometimes I use it to work. And sometimes I use it for homework with Nadia. And most importantly, we gather here a lot. So I wanted to keep it as spacious as possible. I'm gonna be getting the curtain rod from Walmart to remove the middle curtain to put them on their own rods to, again, elevate the space to give it that beautiful look.
