Good morning friends and welcome back to Edinburgh. It is a beautiful sunny day,
it actually looks really nice. So I'm really glad that I'm actually going out this afternoon.
I'm just about to have some lunch and then afterwards I'm heading up towards the St James
Quarter to meet my friend and then we're going to swap some very belated Christmas presents
and go for a wee cuppa. So I don't really know where we're going but I did suggest,
depending if she fancied a little bit of a walk, we could maybe go to the Taylor because I haven't
been there for a good wee while actually, over a month anyway, and it's one of my favourite cafes
and I'm pretty sure she hasn't been. So that's a potential. I'm also very open to going somewhere
a bit nearer as well because she'll have her baby with her so kind of whatever is easier.
But yeah, I've just had a very, very relaxing morning. I did read a bit of my bible,
I hung my washing out and I'm gutted because when I went to hang the washing out,
I didn't have my glasses or my phone with me to film and I'm pretty sure, I'm like 80% sure,
that the fox ran along the wall. Either that or it was a cat but I'm pretty sure it was a fox
because it was a bit bigger and it just, yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a fox but sadly I didn't
manage to capture it to show you but yeah, they're just so elusive. They're definitely about all the
time but just occasionally do I see them. They were screaming their heads off the other night
at each other which gave me a bit of a shock in the middle of the night but yeah. And then the
other thing that I want to do today is, do I have it here? So I have had film in my film camera for
about a year now I would say, probably exactly a year and I just want to use up, oh there's
something running along, I think it's a squirrel. I just want to use up so that I can develop it
because I have pictures on here from my 30th birthday indoor picnic that I would just really
like to see because it's been a year. So let me see. Okay, I've used 32. I've been trying my hardest
to take photos which is not a chore by any means but I do find it hard to use for some reason
up the 30. I can't actually see but I think it's 36. I always struggle but it's the same price
I think to develop, you know, 12, 24, 36. So I always just buy 36. So anyway, that means we've
got a couple, maybe four, five left to use. Sometimes you get some extra. So I'm going to
bring this with me today and God willing, use it up so that on the way home I can nip over to where
I get it developed which is A&M Imaging on New Haven Road in case you're looking for anywhere to
develop film in Edinburgh and hopefully I'll be in time before they close to drop it off. If not,
I'll do it tomorrow. And the other thing, I'll maybe talk to you about it later, I've found my,
well I rediscovered my old childhood camera. I think it's, I'll show it to you later and it's
from 2003 and I've just been having the best time using it going around Edinburgh taking photos so
if you follow on Instagram, you've maybe seen some of the photos that I've been taking. Anyway,
I need to go and have some lunch, just a quick bite to eat because I get hungry really quickly
and I can't wait, I can't wait to meet up with my friend. So I'm just going to have some toasties
and some tomato soup I think, I think that's the plan and then debating whether to bring
my washing in but we'll wait and see. Okay, I'll be back, see you soon. Had my lunch,
got myself changed, more presentable, brought the washing in, now let's head out to meet Naomi.
We won and just had a lovely time, we didn't end up going to the tailor just because where Naomi
parked we figured we would just slowly wander back to her car and she had seen the store on
her walk up which I've been in to have a little browse. I think I've even showed it here before
but I've never been in for a coppa so that was really lovely. I had the Edward and Irwin hot
chocolate which was so decadent, really lovely and Naomi had their homemade soup which was a tomato
and basil I think. So anyway, we still have a little bit of daylight left, I'm out of puff
because I just walked up a hill but we still have some time until sunset and we're kind of halfway
to Stockbridge and I haven't used up my photos yet so on my film camera so I think we're just
going to have a little mooch and use up the film camera photos and then once I've done that
then we'll head back and drop them off at A&M imaging to be developed. That's the plan anyway.
I'm off the bus, it's a little bit queasy because I just sit going backwards but anyway almost at
A&M. Done! Okay let's walk home, I can't wait to have a coppa because I've only had the hot
chocolate since I've been out and I'm really thirsty. Normally I bring water with me but I
forgot it today and it is quite nippy now, it's quite chilly. So that's the end of the video
and full disclosure this is another day but I actually for once have a good explanation
because after my little Agent Cody Banks dinner movie night that I had I got a notification
because I had ordered something to be delivered which I was very excited about and basically
recently I've kind of got back into watching movies again and I've started down the YouTube
rabbit hole of I've somehow ended up watching Blu-ray reviews and all this kind of thing so I
decided to treat myself to a little Blu-ray player. First of all because my current DVD player that
you saw in the last clip is actually inherited from my parents and we got that when we moved
here so it's probably close to about 20 years old, probably about that age and it's great for
its age. It plays DVDs however it's just the quality is not great. I'm going to keep it
because it's really handy, it plays all regions which is really useful. I have a nostalgic
childhood movie that is called, it's gone from my head, The Real Macaw. I'm pretty sure it's
called The Real Macaw. It's an Australian movie and it's just a comfort watch so I haven't watched
it in a wee while maybe it's time to bring that back out again but I tried it in my new
Blu-ray player and unfortunately it does not recognize it but anyway I hang on to the old one
but anyway I was saying after my little movie night I headed out into the into the night
and collected my Blu-ray player because I got it delivered to a shop just because I never know
when deliveries are really arriving and if I'm not in I don't entirely know where the parcels go and
I don't drive so it makes it just too complicated so I tried to get it just delivered to a local
shop so then I got all excited about plugging it in and trying the only Blu-ray that I had,
I have a few more now that I've been collecting, that's what I've been doing because I'm kind of
on a little bit of a charity shopping ban for clothing just because I have more than I need at
the moment and until I have a little bit of a clear out I'm not really allowing myself to buy
anything unless I see something amazing so I've just ended up buying different things
which is Blu-ray movies at the moment collecting my favorites
so that's what I ended up doing with the rest of that evening and I'm thinking
somebody had asked me in a comment during vlogmas and I never got around to it to go through my cd
collection which is very small I just have a couple of cds and I think that maybe I can't
remember who asked but somebody had seen my little stack of cds or heard me mention it and wanted a
little tour and then I was also thinking about I was having a little clear out of my books and I
have sort of chatted about books in the past so that's not going to be very different but I thought
it might be quite interesting to do a little bonus video this week at some point of physical media so
I know that's very much back in the sort of trends and everything at the moment everybody's
not everybody but a lot of people are rebuying and collecting physical media again just because I
think when Netflix first came out it was so great because they had so many movies on there but now
we just have so many different streaming sites and it's so expensive so I actually don't have any
I don't pay for any streaming services at the moment hence getting back into
dvd and blu-rays and I've actually got a lot of tv series that are my favorites that I didn't even
realize I had I found them at my parents house over Christmas so I'm going to slowly bring them
over and also if you remember a long time ago probably sometime like a year or more ago I tried
to make my cupboard into a little reading nook and that didn't really go to plan I ended up just
reverting back to a cupboard however over this past week or so I have been having a clear of
that cupboard and have turned it into a little bit of a sort of like a library again I have a
little section for my like Christian books and I've got a section for my dvds so I thought maybe
later on in the week it's just going to be a fun bonus video I know it won't be for everyone but
it will just be a chatty a little video of me going through my cds dvds and books and just
having a chat about some of my favorites and a general tour anyway I am rambling on but there
is one more thing I wanted to talk to you before I say goodbye and I mentioned it at the beginning
of the video and it's this little guy so if you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen
him he is a I'm calling him a he feels like a he he's a Fujifilm Q1 and I think this was maybe my
first ever digital camera I think so anyway my mom has reminded me that I had a fisher price
a red fisher price film camera which I wish we still had it but I actually saw an Instagram
reel pop up of somebody who found this that same camera that I had in an attic I think in their
parents house or something and tried taking photos with it and the photos were beautiful so yeah I
don't know what happened to mine but unfortunately I don't have it anymore but I do have this little
guy and I yeah just my pride and joy when I was little and it was also featured in the Lizzie
Maguire movie which made it even more precious to me um it is a two megapixel camera and also
hilariously um the memory card isn't an SD card it's an XD card so I'm so glad that I still have
an XD card reader otherwise I'm not sure if that would be that easy to buy but the storage on this
is 16 megabytes 16 megabytes so I can only take which is really fun actually I can only take about
18 19 pictures to fill it up so I've been bringing it out on walks because it's so
lightweight like I pop it in my bag or my pocket and I don't even realize I have it
it's just so incredibly light I've had it around my neck as well and just so much fun going around
old town I've been around the shore and I posted some photos from those two outings on my Instagram
too and um since I filmed this the past clips that you watched I've been back to Stockbridge
again and brought this little guy with me um so yeah having a great time I was feeling a little
bit uninspired with photography which is rare for me I photography has always just been I'm not
technical I don't really love studying it but just capturing moments and yeah I just
it's such a creative outlet for me I really really enjoy it so whenever I'm not enjoying it I'm a
little like what's going on so this has really just inspired me and I've found using this for
some reason I don't know why it's just giving me a new eye so some of the photos I took down at the
shore which is an area I photographed quite a bit I got some different angles that I've never looked
at before and it's just so much fun so so grateful to my mom that she's kept this for me
and brought it from Malaysia and it's just been sitting in I think it was sitting in my childhood
bedroom for a long time I brought it over to Edinburgh but didn't really do much with it for
some reason um but I have a feeling that this is going to become you know one of my favorite things
um so that's pretty much what I wanted to chat to you about I think anyway um other than to say I
do apologize I planned to have a lot more videos coming out in January but I don't know if it's
just I'm sure it's not just me it feels like such a lazy month January I'm finding it really hard to
get back into the you know getting out and about filming um I've just wanted to have a clear out
of my flat so that's kind of what I've been doing um but having just edited this video I'm really
feeling much more inspired anyway thank you all so much for watching I'm just so grateful if you've
joined fairly recently during vlogmas it's so lovely to have you here in 2026 and if you've
been watching for a year two years three years I feel like we're friends already so I'm so excited
to just spend the year with you all and yeah day trips will be coming up and
yeah I can't wait the days have been getting slightly longer which is just so exciting and
I've been longing to sit in my garden again which won't be that much longer the snow drops are out
so I really need to go to um the botanic garden specifically to maybe go on one of their snow
drop walks actually that sounds really fun um and the last thing sorry this has been such a yappy
end um the last thing is I don't think I've mentioned in a video I've mentioned it in a post
over the holidays I have restarted my blog so I will leave that in the comments below
if you're coming to Edinburgh this year or just would like to have a little nosy I've got some
Edinburgh guides like neighbourhood guides on there I've just got some bucket lists my Edinburgh
bucket list and just general blog posts so if you'd like to have a little nosy I hope it's
somewhat useful and even if you live in the city maybe there might be some little hidden gems that
you're not aware not aware of I'm always finding new ones so that just reminds me I need to update
the little library blog post actually anyway enough yapping thank you all so much for watching
I will see you very soon for hopefully maybe a physical media video I don't know how interesting
that will be to you all but hopefully a couple of you will enjoy it
