Welcome to Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily! In this video, I explore Palermo in just one day, discovering incredible street food, historic markets, beautiful architecture, and the unique atmosphere that makes it one of the most charming cities in Italy. Join me on a stroll through the heart of Palermo, where centuries-old history intertwines with everyday Sicilian life. From bustling local markets and delicious street food to stunning churches, lively piazzas, and colorful streets, this city offers unforgettable experiences for every traveler. One of the highlights of my visit was a visit to Palermo's famous traditional markets. This is the Ballarò market, one of the oldest and most authentic markets in Sicily, where vendors sell fresh seafood, local produce, spices, cheeses, and traditional Sicilian delicacies. The energy, sounds, and aromas create a truly unique atmosphere that captures the soul of Palermo. This also includes the historic Vucciria market, known for its rich history and vibrant street life. Although smaller than in its day, the Vucciria remains an important symbol of Palermo culture and becomes a vibrant meeting place in the evening. Strolling through these markets is one of the best ways to experience authentic Sicilian culture and interact with the locals. Of course, no visit to Palermo would be complete without sampling the famous street food. Sicily is renowned for having some of the best street food in Italy, and Palermo is at the center of this culinary tradition

A visitor reviews \"The Farmer's Dog,\" Jeremy Clarkson's pub in the Cotswolds. While the reviewer praises the stunning venue, the commitment to 100% British ingredients, and the high-quality starters, the experience is dampened by uninspiring desserts, cold gravy, and high prices, resulting in a final score of 6.5/10.
I mean, followers, welcome back to the channel. I'm in the beautiful Cotswolds. Look at this weather,
It's absolutely scorching, blue skies, the sun is out, and I'm at Jeremy Clarkson's pub.
The Farmer's Dog, for the first time. Never been here before. I missed all the hype two years ago.
But better late than never, and look at this. This is actually stunning. You've got the pub here,
This is the terrace. Come and have a look at this. You have the terrace over here.
And then you follow this path, and down here is an absolutely massive beer garden.
Beer is flowing, people are having a good time, and you've got food trucks out back there.
but we're going into the pub today. We're going to try some proper British pub grub and I have
I haven't seen a review of this place before myself. I missed them all two years ago, so we're going.
To give a proper, transparent review. Let's just get into it, let's go. I'm in. I'm seated.
on the terrace and it's gorgeous. There's a slight breeze. As you can see,
It's packed out. As I said, the beer garden is over that way, looking really good. Beautiful views.
Cameraman, cameraman, look at the views, look at the views, look at the views back there
Right behind. Unbelievable views right here. This is a little slice of English heaven.
The first thing that happened was I came in, I was so hot, I asked for soda water and lime. That's
what I like just as a cool-down kind of drink. She was like, sorry, we don't do lime, we only
do British ingredients. I know most of you guys will know this from watching the show, but I'd
completely forgotten that that was the premise. I haven't watched much of the show, if I'm being honest.
Honestly, I had forgotten that was the premise, and I was like, I love that—absolutely love it.
So I've got a cloudy apple, a Benson's cloudy apple, and also one of the Hawkstone.
Lagers here, Jeremy's own brewery. That's nice, nice and cold, crisp and refreshing.
Right, quick look at the menu. So it says at the top of the menu here, right at the top,
says everything on our menu is proudly British, grown, reared, or crafted by farmers who know
their land like the backs of their hands. No imports, no fuss, just the goodness of harvest season.
I absolutely love that. So everything on the menu, I'm sure you guys already know this.
But I had forgotten the premise from two years ago. Everything on the menu consists of British ingredients.
You've got five or six starters and then five or six mains here. Fantastic, all the starters.
I'll go over the prices at the end, but for the starters, you have the soup of the day, which
celeriac, chicken and bacon terrine, breaded brie, pork fritters, cold-smoked bilberry trout,
creamy garlic mushrooms, and then for the mains you have steak pie, the farmer's dog chicken
Caesar salad, Cotswold sausage, roasted heritage beetroot with whipped goat's cheese
charcoal-grilled lamb kofta and Hawkstone black-glazed meaty pork ribs. So I love the fact that the menu is
Concise. I love that it's all British ingredients. That's just something I say.
A lot of the pub reviews in the pubs I go to. Why not just make it all British?
We have more than enough amazing dishes among the starters and main courses to make all the dishes.
British. Sometimes that isn't always possible. You have to consider margins. It was just
An observation, that's all. But yes, a great menu. I've gone for the cold-smoked bilberry trout.
and the Cotswold sausage served with mash, roasted carrots, seasonal greens, and caramelized
onions and gravy. So we've got the starters here. This looks fantastic, actually. We've got the
bilberry trout. I've actually had bilberry trout before. We have a horseradish cream here and
Then we've got some nice sourdough. I think this is the butter here and a salad here of greens.
and carrot. So it's looking good. It's looking good. Let's get into it. Is this the butter? Yeah.
It is. Wow. That is real butter. Look at that. Let's put that on the sourdough.
The first point of call, I think, in a good restaurant or a good pub,
taste the bread, and that's like the litmus test of how good the meal may be. It's a little
Indicator. So let's try this bread. That butter is phenomenal. Salty, almost creamy.
I know they sell the sourdough in the shop, so it's obviously local as well.
But that butter is visible too. It's at room temperature. It's come out to room temperature.
So it just melted onto the bread. Wow, that's phenomenal.
Smoked trout. I love smoked trout.
And this is also an absolutely beautiful color. I'm just going to try it on its own first.
Look at the color of that. It's almost like a deep orange, almost red.
That's excellent. It's like night and day compared to what you get in supermarkets.
Let's just spread it on a slice of sourdough with the butter. Try this horseradish cream.
That's nice. Let's take a bite out of this.
The horseradish cream, to be honest, is very mild. You'd expect it to have a real,
Real kick. There's very little heat in there. But the trout is fantastic. Sourdough, love.
Try a small bite of the salad with the vinaigrette on it.
That's good. All absolutely fantastic. I'm being overly critical, almost nitpicking.
And I don't want to be a professional hair splitter or a professional nitpicker.
The horseradish cream just doesn't have much bite to it. Apart from that,
These are all exquisite ingredients. You can truly taste the quality shining through.
And the amount of trout here is also quite generous. But that trout is absolutely divine.
Beautiful. Right, the main course has arrived, and we've got two Cotswold sausages here. We've got
mash. We've got a carrot here with a bit of, I think, what looks like thyme on top. We've got
Some leeks, possibly some cabbage there. And then we've got the gravy made from the Hawkstone.
Lager from Clarkson's Farm. So, first impressions. Looks pretty good. It's not like a ginormous
portion, but it's nicely presented. Let's get straight into the sausage. We've also got the
Caramelized onions on top here. So, let's get a bit of that caramelized onion on the Cotswold.
Sausage. Let's try it. That's a fantastic sausage. Wow. A bit more onion on there, please.
A bit of the gravy. Let's get some mash as well. Come on. Let's just go crazy. That's like
A proper British bite. Look at that. Let's go. You've got a really nice sweetness coming through.
From that onion. The gravy itself isn't very much. It's actually pretty much cold.
The gravy's just cold, I'm afraid. I'm just being honest. A bit of the carrot.
And normally, I fuss around quite a bit when the food arrives. No more fussing.
So, I had that gravy pretty much right away, as soon as the food arrived.
Carrot's fantastic. Let's just try the mash on its own. That is really buttery mash.
OK. A little bit of the greens, the cabbage. Let's go for this. Nice crunch.
Lovely and fresh. Honestly, this is all about those sausages. They're absolutely fantastic.
Meaty, authentic quality, real flavor. Just a bit of a shame about the gravy—it doesn't have much to it.
It's a bit cold, as I said, and there's not much flavor to it. Aside from that,
The ingredients are fantastic. Let's move on to dessert. Right, folks. As you can see,
The terrace is emptying out now. It's the end of lunch service. I'm going to get a quick dessert.
This is the dessert menu. Puddings made the British way. Loud, proud, and bursting with
flavor. There isn't actually that much choice here. You've got two main desserts, raspberry
honey and oat tart, and then rhubarb crumble cake. There's a cheese board, ice cream, and sorbet.
It's not actually that inspiring. I would have thought, you know, we could have had something better on there.
perhaps a Victoria sponge, an Eton mess, a sticky toffee pudding, even a Bakewell tart,
Something like that. So not a lot of choice there. I'm going with the rhubarb crumble.
cake. We've got the rhubarb. Thank you very much. Lovely. Thank you. Cheers. Right, we've got
The rhubarb crumble cake. A tiny bit, less than a tablespoon, of the Cotswolds
a scoop of ice cream and a small amount of fruit coulis at the bottom here. So quite a large slice of cake,
but not much ice cream, to be honest. Let's take a look. Let's give it a try. We've also got
Here's a little biscuit crumb, making a mess. I'm not sure what herb that is, but it's got
a floral note to it. It's a bit lemony. That's actually nice. But as I said, the ice cream
There, it's not much at all there. Quite a big piece of that rhubarb cake. You can see it's not.
Too dry at all. It's lovely and moist, that cake. Not much flavor coming through in terms of
rhubarb flavor. Lovely moist cake. Lovely sponge. Beautiful sponge, but not much else beyond flavor
The sponge. The coulis is fairly minimal. Ice cream, very small portion. A little bit disappointed.
with the desserts. I just think they're a little bit uninspiring. Yeah, not bad. Let me finish this
off, and then we'll have a wrap-up. My highlights of the meal, what I think wasn't as great, and we're
I'm going to give it a score out of 10. Cheers. Right then, that was my experience here at the
The Farmer's Dog, Jeremy Clarkson's pub. And I'm sure, as I say, you've all seen loads of reviews of this.
place, but I haven't. So hopefully that might have added something different. I don't know. But that
That was my experience. Let's take a quick look at the bill because I thought this was quite expensive.
So the pint of Hawksmoor was £7. The sparkling apple drink at the beginning was £3.40. Cold-smoked trout
Starter £12.50. That was probably the standout dish. The Cotswold sausage £22 for the main.
The rhubarb crumble cake I thought was quite expensive—£12 for a small cake dessert.
A little bit of ice cream. The plus points were this amazing venue. I absolutely loved the views. I love
The beer garden and I love that terrace. But aside from that, yes, there was some quality.
in the ingredients throughout those three courses. But overall, it was very uninspiring for me. I just
Felt like making the whole menu British. Make all the courses British. You've only got five or six.
Dishes for each course. Make them all British. Make it more inspiring. Two choices of desserts. I
I understand it's about seasonal ingredients, and that's the point. But just be a little more careful.
inspiring. It was quite expensive as well. Beyond that, the service I thought was very,
Very good. A very young team of servers, all absolutely fantastic. Overall,
My score for The Farmer's Dog is a 6.5 out of 10. There were some great points there.
but it just wasn't inspiring enough, and the execution, for me, wasn't quite there. I really,
I really, really wanted to love it. Especially when I got here and I was like, wow, this is amazing.
But the food didn't quite live up to it. Guys, hope you enjoyed this episode from my
