Hello everyone
This is Quynh Vy speaking
What skincare product absolutely must be in your routine
You've probably already guessed it already
That's exactly the face wash or
facial cleanser—because the cleansing
step is so important—but Vy notices people usually focus only on that
And searching for and investing in skincare products is equally
overwhelming when it comes to choosing the right cleansers
But keeping it clean is really important right sister
That's why today Quynh Vy has invited
Dermatologist Dr Doan Trang
To answer all questions regarding selecting the
right facial cleanser and gel for each skin type
Hi Quỳnh Vy hi everyone
I'm so happy to be here for the first time

Now let's begin together
First I'd like to ask Doctor Trang: what are the
criteria for choosing a facial cleanser and what does healthy skin look like
From a skin type perspective I have a
few general guidelines for
selecting a facial cleanser: first and foremost it must be a proper facial cleanser
It has cleansing properties yet
should not cause skin irritation
Secondly the pH level should between 5 and
5 5 which is the ideal pH range
To maintain full skin protection
the protective barrier of the
skin relies on its lipid layer
which has a pH between 5 and 5 5
It can resist virtually all disease-causing
factors including
bacteria fungi and viruses
Finally this facial cleanser contains
very few surfactants—substances that
reduce surface tension—and these are
the agents responsible for cleansing
In English it's called a surfactant
its function is to dissolve dirt
and excess oil so
these substances can be easily rinsed away with water
Surfactants reduce surface tension while also lowering interfacial pressure
Cleansing products like facial cleanser and body wash
Shampoo toothpaste makeup remover
You can see these ingredients
Easy to identify are the components
with heads such as sodium ammonium
potassium coca in the surfactant base
there are tails like sulfate sucrose ester
Ysethionate betaine myristate
Next question
Actually I've seen so many articles
Xoay1 is it advisable
to use SLS in cleaning
products Doctor could you please advise us
A bit more information about this please
SLS or more accurately the substance known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
As the most commonly encountered surfactant in
cleaning products SLS has
sparked considerable debate
Using SLS extensively at high concentrations and over prolonged periods can
cause skin irritation and discoloration
To begin with let's address Vi's question
Then the doctor would like to
cite some FDA-approved medications
Allow the addition of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
directly into cosmetic final products
Present in food
At the same time Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate is approved for use as an
indirect cosmetic ingredient
for example both are used
In a food surface coating Sodium
Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium
Lauryl Sulfate are also used in the final cosmetic product
Or personal hygiene products
sold in the European market
licensed under the European Union 's
Cosmetic Products Directive
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
of 30 countries has conducted an assessment of the hazards
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
poses no significant
risks to human health
or the environment
Even the potential to cause constipation has been considered for this compound which was previously examined in 1983
And once again reassessed in 2005
by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR)
Expert Panel with the conclusion that it is completely safe
When a cleaning ingredient is used in cosmetics
it doesn't mean that a product containing it
should or shouldn't include SLS
Because SLS has its own unique advantages and disadvantages
One advantage of SLS is
a product that effectively cleans
The second factor is balanced pH
However a drawback of SLS is its
potential to interact with proteins
on the skin and hair follicles
By this point Quỳnh Vy probably feels compelled to clear SLS's name just a little
Because in reality within the cosmetics market
There are indeed many finished products such as this benzomiruxa
which works exceptionally well for dark spots
cystic acne and individual breakouts
But this is an oxidizing agent so it should
only be applied to acne-affected
areas not all over the face
Otherwise the skin would become extremely wrinkled saggy and dry
Or corticosteroids
Also a potent anti-inflammatory agent
But prolonged use can disrupt the skin's natural
barrier function If we examine
surfactants more closely
Then we'll see that certain substances each have their own distinct advantages such
as fatty acid combinations
However the extremely high pH level reversed
Sharing a little with Dr Trang and everyone else—Quynh
Vy has tried a wide variety of different skincare products
And when it comes to purchasing the ingredient list is quite
impressive—no SLS no parabens—but
the pH level is extremely high
And after using it the skin becomes extremely dry
When choosing a product
I can't rely on ingredients alone to judge its effectiveness
Yet in a formula multiple components
are typically included such as various
types of surfactants to balance out the strengths and weaknesses of each
And additionally it includes soothing ingredients for the skin
And a good under-moisturizer product
One that typically ensures the factors just mentioned by the doctor
It consists of those three factors
and if anyone wants to know about
the black spot of a product they can visit medical supply stores
And buy the recommended formula to test at home
Wow Vy and Dr Trang just mentioned
those criteria Choosing milk based on surface-level factors only
It's already complicated enough like
this Anyone who still claims that milk from the surface is simple raise your hand so Vy can see
Now let's move on to the detailed part
Choosing the right milk facial cleanser for each skin type
First oily skin
This is the most common skin type in Vietnam and it often
causes significant challenges for those who have it The
most easily recognizable sign is oily skin
It will spill a great deal of oil especially in the area marked "ta " due
to the excessive amount of bait already present
Enlarged pores allow dirt to easily penetrate the skin
thereby increasing the risk of whiteheads and blackheads
More severe cases can develop into red bumps
Swollen pus-filled lesions
During consultations with clients
At Happy Skin Medical Spa
Then the doctor noticed that those with oily skin had extremely
active sebaceous glands and were
much more likely to develop acne
Therefore in a half-milk skincare
product the most important
thing is achieving deep cleansing of every single pore
And naturally a product with
a good pH level will help
prevent irritation as shared
by Dr Trang and everyone else
When buying face milk for
these skin types look on the
packaging for terms like "
oil-control" or "purifying "
Or contain ingredients such as BHA AHA
or Duconolactone for
deeper pore cleansing
As for the structure I usually prefer
gel-based products because they're
already sufficiently covered unlike
creams which tend to be overwrapped
And the pH is too high so
my skin often feels dry Also
with gel-based products even
if they contain AHA or BHA
The pH remains stable so gel
formulations are still preferred Here
are some suitable products for
oily skin: ME BHA Skin with 2% BHA
With Hazel and Calendula BHA
5.5 SPF SPF Clear with 14%
For oily skin
With mineral water and zinc
With BHA at 5.5
When it comes to natural beauty doctors must commend
SPF SPF Clear
Then there's the thousand uses of the face mask that deeply cleanses
Meaning every single pore
And when it comes to supporting acne control
and treatment you have
to mention using the green leaf face gel from ME BHA Skin—the gel in this green leaf formulation
Skillfully combining different surfactants to achieve
excellent cleaning performance
while maintaining a balanced pH
And compatible with 2% BHA
An ideal ingredient
Penetrates deep into each pore
Effectively cleanses reduces inflammation and fights bacteria
Just like removing dead flaky skin cells
helps make our skin smoother
and this is especially suitable for those of you
Skin prone to acne or easily prone
to breakouts comes
next after oily skin we move on to dry skin which is extremely lacking in moisture
Dry skin tends to have the advantage of being less prone to acne compared
to oily skin but its drawback is that
it's more likely to develop fine lines
And more prone to aging
Dry skin is a type of skin that is severely lacking in moisture
And when skin is dry we tend to use
Types of oily moisturizing milk When examining the ingredient profile I prioritize components that provide
hydration such as natural oils
Squalane vitamin B5
There are some soothing ingredients
such as aloe vera or sugar-derived molecules
As for texture I'll prioritize
Types of non-foaming cream dispensers
And types of creams or gels that produce minimal foam
Tuesday is sensitive skin This type of
skin is extremely prone to being affected
By external factors such as dry air from constant air conditioning
Or intense UV exposure
Therefore if you have this type of skin
you need to take
extra care of it if you have sensitive skin be especially careful when choosing a facial product
I need to pay attention to pH balance
which as the doctor just mentioned
should between 5 and 5 5 secondly I should use a gentle product
Free from artificial colors
alcohol-free Phthalate-free sulfate-free
To ensure the safety and well-being of our skin
Recommended products
For sensitive skin
Speaking of which may I take a moment to share something
This blue-tinted face milk
from M E M Happy Skin newly
launched has already been reviewed by Vi and Mai Anh
It was thoroughly covered in a previous video
Feel free to check it out again This person has all the criteria
That Dr Trang just mentioned
For sensitive skin a soothing facial moisturizer
Free from irritating ingredients
pH balanced at 5.3
And contains many beneficial ingredients for the skin such as pro- vitamin
B5 sugars and aloe vera The
final skin type we'll mention is
That's combination skin
I find this skin type to be quite beautiful
It only tends to get oily in the T-zone
While the rest of the face remains fairly dry
We use this type of skin care product so I'm using
both of them now I use the
green one in the evening
Blue will gently cleanse your morning routine
without requiring you to switch face milk types much
You could use one type and change it with the seasons for
example during the dry season you might
use this shade of blue
During the hot humid season I use green color for effective cleaning
Thank you Doctor Tre for accepting Quỳnh Vi's video invitation today
