Hey, welcome to Backyard Bows.
Today we are going to give you our top five budget bows,
not just of the year, but of all times.
I've been kind of waiting on this category.
Every time I anticipated a new, nice budget bow
that we had kind of gotten the lineup,
I wanted to get it in here.
I wanted to review it before we came out with this.
So it took me a while to get you this,
but I think it was well worth the wait.
The last bow that we just did, the Ronin,
I knew that one was going to fall into this top five.
So that was the kind of final one that I was waiting on.
But here we go, top five budget bows.
The companies don't necessarily like
that we call them budget bows.
It's more of just, if you're on a budget
and you've got a hard budget,
you're trying to get something into the field
that's going to perform,
that's reliable, of great quality, for under $1,000,
this is the category for you.
So at number five, coming in, the Hoyt Torex.
The Hoyt Torex was a great shooting bow.
It held really nice, similar to the RX7
that we did for a review.
The quality was pretty good.
I think the price tag that you're going to see on the bow
is from the name brand.
So because it has the Hoyt on it,
that's what's going to get it up to that price of $799.
But the bow did perform very, very well.
You can get it all dressed up,
ready to hunt for under $1,000, coming in at number five.
Coming in at number four, Expedition APX,
the bow that we just gave away.
Man, this bow, to me, it was probably
one of the better shooting budget bows
that we've got in here.
Really nice platform, really, really nice at full draw.
The thing's set up really, really crisp.
I love the way the arrows came off of that.
I shot really well with that right from the beginning.
$699, I think that's one of the better budget bows
that we've got in to date.
Number three, the Elite Terrain.
We have not reviewed it.
We did the Basin, but I've shot this thing several times.
It's probably one of my favorite,
especially the ready to hunt package.
For $749, you get the CB MicroTactic.
You get a drop-away rest.
You get a random stabilizer.
But that ready to hunt package is ready to hunt.
That is the one that, to me, is tried and true.
You could take that thing in the field
right after you buy it and be very confident
in not just the bow, but the accessories
that are gonna come with it.
I think the Elite Terrain, to me,
definitely wins the best ready to hunt package to date.
Definitely top five budget bows.
Number two, now, a lot of people are gonna say
this isn't necessarily a budget bow.
And again, we're categorizing under 1,000.
The Ronin 840, this was the best performing bow.
This outperformed some of the flagship bows
that we've gotten here.
For the price, they didn't cut a single corner.
You get a flagship-type feel, quality, performance,
everything for a budget-type price.
That is one of my favorite bows,
not just in the budget bow category, but across the board.
The Prime Ronin, that review just dropped.
Check it out.
That thing sniped, I'm telling you.
Honestly, I knew it was gonna be one of the top five.
That's why I waited on it,
but I was completely impressed by that bow.
I think Prime did all of us a favor by releasing that bow,
really keeping the hunters in mind
and trying to give us something
of great quality that's affordable.
And number one, Bear took the number one spot.
And now, between the three Bears that I had in mind,
the Adapt, the Alaskan, and the Escalade,
all of them, absolutely great shooting bows.
The one that fell in the top position to me,
because I feel like they all kind of lined up
very similar and equally, was the Adapt, $479.
You can even get it on sale occasionally
at Bass Pro or something like that.
The Adapt is by far the best-performing, best-quality bow
for the price that I've had in here to date.
It's one of the bows that I just,
I remember time and time again.
The draw cycle was probably one of my favorite,
not just in the budget bow category.
The quality was very, very well.
The thing shot and performed very well.
Was not the fastest bow, but you know me,
I like comfort over speed.
That, to me, is one of the best bows
that you can get for the price, coming in at number one.
Now remember, all of these bows are the bows
that we would choose to take into the field.
There are several other bows out there for a good price
that can get you going, get you shooting,
get you reps in the backyard,
that you can even take hunting.
But these five, for under $1,000,
are the bows that I would recommend taking into the field
where you kind of have a guarantee on performance.
Some of these bows these days, the budget bows,
they're outperforming flagship bows
from five, six, seven years ago for a great price.
So when you're going to your bow buying process,
if you have a hard budget, just take a step back
and consider you don't have to have a flagship bow.
That should be well-known by now.
Tons of people, probably the majority of hunters,
are not shooting with a $1,200 bow.
This guy came into the shop the other day
and bought the new lift, all set up,
probably spent $3,000.
Did he need to?
No.
Did he have a sweet setup when he left?
Yes.
More power to you if you have the money,
but just remember, you can get in the field,
you can get that field experience,
you can harvest game, all for a good price.
You just have to shop around,
make sure you test and shoot everything.
One of them will stand out more than others to you.
Good luck, everybody, to the rest of this hunting season.
Hopefully you found something in this video
that was beneficial to you in your bow buying process,
kind of making some separation between all of these bows.
All five of these bows, backyard bows approved,
through and through.
See you next week.
