ARRIVAL TODAY! Hyun Bin's jealous reaction when he saw the scene between Son Yejin and Ji Chang Wook.

Netflix has just released teasers for several upcoming Korean dramas. One of the most eye-catching is The Scandal, which features a seductive scene between Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook. The teaser immediately sparked heated discussion among fans due to its bold storyline and its adult-oriented nature. The Scandal is an adaptation of Pierre Chauderlot de Laclos' classic French epistolary novel, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, first published in 1782. The novel is known for its unique storytelling style, told through letters and written documents, directly presenting the characters' various perspectives. This epistolary style was very popular in the 18th century and often gives a realistic and intimate impression to the characters' conflicts. Previously, this story was adapted into a Korean film, Untold Scandal, released in 2003 and starring Bae Yong-joon, Lee Mi-sook, and Jeon Do-yeon. Now, Netflix is reviving the story in a drama series format with a new twist. The director's chair is entrusted to Jung Ji-woo, who is known for works with emotional and mature nuances. In an interview with Korean media, Jung Ji-woo revealed that the main storyline will remain. But the audience will be treated to various new surprises that feel fresher and more relevant. The drama is set in the Joseon era and tells the complex relationship between Lady Cho, the wife of an influential nobleman, and her cousin Cho Won, a charismatic man known for his flamboyance and charm. Despite their special relationship, Lady Cho is not an easy figure to conquer. She actually gives Cho Won extreme challenges to prove her feelings. One of these challenges involves Hui Yeon, a poor but dignified woman with strong religious principles. The conflict becomes more complicated when Lady Cho hears news that her husband plans to marry Hui Yeon. So she encourages Cho Won to approach the woman as part of his plan. In addition to Ji Chang-wook and Sun Ye-jin, the drama The Scandal also stars Nana, who also strengthens the main cast. Since its announcement, the project has received pros and cons. Some netizens expressed concerns that the drama's mature themes could affect the image of Ji Chang-wook and Sun Ye-jin as top actors. Responding to this, Ji Chang-wook, he, through his agency, stated that The Scandal is a major challenge in his career. This is a role that is completely different from my previous dramas. It is very challenging and I hope to receive support from the audience, he said. Meanwhile, Sun Ye-jin decided to accept this project as a return to acting after a hiatus following the birth of her first child. As an actress, I have to remain professional, she emphasized. With a top-class cast, a classic story full of intrigue, and a modern touch from Netflix, The Scandal is predicted to be one of the most talked-about Korean dramas this year.
