In everyday life in conversations with friends one uses I wouldn't do that to someone If I damage someone's reputation I'm harming that person's standing I make sure others don't trust that person anymore more trust For instance he wanted to discredit his colleague by spreading a rumor He started a rumor about his coworkers It's spreading He's told something about her that isn't true His aim was to damage her reputation he wanted her colleagues to think poorly of her or the opposition sought to undermine the minister o discredit her by releasing his private emails The opposition meaning the opposing political party has released emails from Ministers released The goal was to damage his reputation People should trust him less Next comes something circulating bring The word circulation calls to mind a cycle When you think of something When something is in circulation it means it's passed from person to person continuously We often hear this expression when talking about money goes Imagine the central bank of a country printing new banknotes and en passes these banknotes on to other banks so the money can be distributed to people the new money is now in a cycle and is being circulated by the People who pay with it keep passing it on For example we could say the European Central Bank has introduced new 50 Euro notes put into circulation She distributed the new notes so that from now on ow be used to make payments A criminal can use counterfeit money to Print money at home in the basement and spend it That's how he puts the counterfeit money into circulation It keeps getting passed around now since no one knows it's fake Dealing in counterfeit money In everyday conversation people don't usually talk all that often about the central bank or counterfeit money—instead they're more likely to mention tha Information or rumors are circulated This means these pieces of information or rumors are spread so that they are constantly disseminated more people hear this information The message spreads from person to person For instance someone started a rumor that we We wanted to sell our house and now we're constantly getting calls from people who want to buy it So someone must have mentioned somewhere that we're selling We’re planning to sell our house This rumor has been spreading further and further Now many people think we want to sell the house and keep calling us Or the news about the accident spread on social media Spread rapidly and went viral Someone posted the message on social media where it quickly spread Shared all the time Do you
