Hello all you freedom-loving people.
Tom Homan is headed to Minnesota after the shooting of Alex Pretty by a Border Patrol
agent, Canada PM Mark Carney backpedaled on his deal with China, the Iranian regime is
in the hot seat with the Armada still approaching closer, and there was a failed coup d'etat
in China.
Okay, let's get into it.
Today, President Trump announced that he had a very good phone call with Minnesota Governor
Tim Walz.
President Trump wrote on True Social,
Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota.
It was a very good call, and we actually seem to be on a similar wavelength.
I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking
for are any and all criminals that they have in their possession.
President Trump also wrote,
The Governor very respectfully understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the
near future.
He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I.
The announcement about their phone call came just after President Trump announced this
morning that he was sending Border Czar Tom Homan to Minnesota.
In that announcement on True Social, President Trump noted that while Homan hadn't worked
on operations there before, he knows many state officials.
President Trump also said that Homan would report directly to him, and President Trump
described Homan as tough but fair.
Then White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt confirmed that Tom Homan was heading
to Minnesota this evening.
She said that Homan would oversee ICE operations, and he would support ongoing fraud investigations,
and Homan will coordinate with federal teams that are already on the ground.
His role includes helping investigators address widespread fraud that costs taxpayers billions
of dollars.
And during the news conference today, Leavitt reminded the reporters that Homan used to
be heralded as a hero by President Obama.
This is a Washington Post headline from nine years ago, 2016.
Meet the man the White House has honored for deporting illegal immigrants.
And I would remind everyone in this room that it was former President Barack Hussein Obama
who awarded a medal to Mr. Homan.
So he's obviously very qualified.
He has the full trust and faith of the president.
He will continue to have these meetings in the hopes that ICE and local law enforcement
can cooperate and work together to have successful immigration enforcement as we've seen in almost
every other state across the country.
Leavitt also provided more information about why Homan is going to Minnesota at this time.
Mr. Homan is doing an exceptional job, and he has been working with Secretary Noem and
President Trump over the course of the last year.
Secretary Noem still has the utmost confidence and trust of the president of the United States
and she's continuing to oversee the entire Department of Homeland Security and all of
the immigration enforcement that's taking place across the whole entire country.
Of course, Secretary Noem is also in charge of FEMA, and we are in the wake of a brutal
winter storm where hundreds of thousands of Americans have been impacted by that.
So borders are Homan is in a unique position to drop everything and go to Minnesota to
continue having these productive conversations with state and local officials.
And I know that he's catching a plane in just a few hours to do just that at the request
of the president.
And Leavitt outlined President Trump's requirements for Governor Walz.
Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and all Democrat leaders should turn over all criminal illegal
aliens currently incarcerated in their prisons and jails to federal authorities, along with
any illegal aliens with active warrants or known criminal histories for immediate deportation.
Number two, state and local law enforcement must agree to turn over all illegal aliens
who are arrested by local police.
And then thirdly, local police must assist federal law enforcement in apprehending and
detaining illegal aliens who are wanted for crimes, especially violent crimes.
If Governor Walz and Mayor Frey implement these common sense cooperative measures that
I will add have already been implemented in nearly every single other state across
the country, customs and border patrol will not be needed to support ICE on the ground
in Minnesota.
She also explained the reason behind the requirements.
These agitators are making it nearly impossible for ICE to do their jobs and for federal law
enforcement to carry out the will of the American people to deport the worst of the worst.
I would just encourage everyone to please imagine in this room, all of you come to the
White House every day to report on the president of the United States and the administration.
You come into this briefing room, you walk through the gates of the White House.
Just imagine if there were left-wing agitators or agitators of any kind who were in your
face, who were doxing you, who were harassing you, who were physically threatening you,
who were biting off your fingers in the case of two border patrol agents we saw this past
weekend in Minneapolis.
That would make it very difficult for you to show up and do your job here at the White
House every single day.
That's what these officers in Minneapolis are facing.
That's why the president is calling on Governor Walz and Mayor Frey for these three very simple
and common sense points.
The new announcement by President Trump today came after he urged Democrats to work with
his administration on deporting criminal illegal migrants.
President Trump published another lengthy post on True Social yesterday, and he explained
that red states have smooth ICE operations because local police cooperate with federal
agents.
In contrast, the blue states with sanctuary policies refuse to do so and they create chaos.
President Trump also criticized sanctuary policies, and he said that they put criminals
above law-abiding citizens.
And President Trump called on Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to turn over
criminal illegal migrants in state prisons and jails, as well as those with active warrants,
so that they can be deported.
Over the weekend, a Border Patrol agent shot and killed Alex Preddy in South Minneapolis
during a federal immigration operation.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the agent fired in self-defense after Preddy
allegedly approached with a handgun and resisted attempts to disarm him.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said during a news conference that Preddy had a
valid permit to carry a firearm.
Federal officials, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, blame local leaders like Governor
Walz and Mayor Frey for stoking state unrest.
During a news conference yesterday evening, Noem defended the Border Patrol agent, saying
that Preddy had arrived at the scene armed, and he was intent on impeding the federal
immigration enforcement operation.
You just made claims that the individual posed a threat to law enforcement.
That is no claim.
It is the facts.
The facts of the situation.
This individual showed up to a law enforcement operation with a weapon and dozens of rounds
of ammunition.
He wasn't there to peacefully protest.
He was there to perpetuate violence.
And he was asked to show up and to continue to resist by a governor who is irresponsible
and has a long history of corruption and lying.
And we won't stand for it anymore.
These law enforcement officers take an oath.
They get up every single day and they go out to protect the public.
Many of these individuals live in their communities.
And this mayor and this governor have doxed them.
They have allowed people to threaten them and their families and expose their identities
in order to instill fear and violence.
That's not what America is about.
We're going to continue to tell the truth about Minnesota, Minneapolis, what happened
here, the theft over the last many years that these leaders have facilitated.
And we're going to continue to do our work to get to the bottom of the investigations.
And the one question you should be asking is the mayor, the governor and the attorney
general have all confirmed that they have been subpoenaed to come in front of a criminal
federal grand jury.
So they are covering up and are being in a part of a system where they are going to be
brought to justice for anything that they had to do with this investigation.
They have confirmed they've been subpoenaed and they will be in front of a grand jury
to get that criminal investigation unfolding and to disclose the kind of fraud that they
have allowed to happen.
In response, Walls blamed the shooting on the federal surge of forces into the Twin
Cities.
Walls posted on X, I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal
agents this morning.
Minnesota has had it.
This is sickening.
The president must end this operation, pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers
out of Minnesota now.
Walls also called on the state to lead the investigation.
Walls wrote, Minnesota's justice system will have the last word on this.
It must have the last word.
As I told the White House, in no uncertain terms this morning, the federal government
cannot be trusted to lead this investigation.
The state will handle it.
And Walls has activated the Minnesota National Guard on Saturday afternoon.
After the shooting in Minneapolis over the weekend, hundreds of protesters gathered at
the site of the incident.
They took over several blocks, prompting street closures and the building of memorials.
Some people made barricades from furniture and dumpsters and lit fires in the street.
Police were not directly in the crowd, but law enforcement was stationed at a nearby
intersection outside the protest zone.
Then there was an independent journalist, Cam Higby, who announced that he has exposed
signal chat groups that are being used by protesters who are attacking ICE in Minneapolis.
This is clearly a coordinated infrastructure, and we'd like for the feds to take a crack
at trying to get rid of this infrastructure the way that they approach the mob or cartels
or other terrorist networks, right?
Absolutely.
100%.
And again, they're still doing it.
They're still doing it.
Wait, you want to see something real cool real quick?
Please, please.
Real fast.
All right.
Real fast.
This is dispatch.
I just saw that M3 was driving.
I just dropped him off, and I am in the North Slope commuting back to Hawthorne shortly.
Okay.
Thank you.
Last person I want to check in with is Maria R. Can you tell me where you're at and what's
going on?
Wow.
That's a live dispatch call.
So that's them live coordinating where ICE is?
Right now.
Yeah, that's them right now looking for ICE.
In response, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed today that they are fully investigating those
signal chat groups.
Okay.
So this is breaking news.
So you and the FBI and perhaps other intelligence agencies are fully aware of this coordinated
effort to attack federal law enforcement, to impede them and potentially insurrect.
And so there is now an open investigation into these chats and into this coordinated
network.
Some of them are fleeing.
Some of them are very scared now.
You can see their chats.
They're very, very worried now that they have been exposed.
Well, they should be.
If they broke the law, you should be worried.
It's that simple.
If you didn't break the law, there's really nothing to worry about on that front.
And so we're going to continue, as I've said from day one, we will protect law enforcement.
We will make sure they have the security and safety to do their jobs.
We will also ensure that civilians have the ultimate protection of the First and Second
Amendment.
But it is my job to adjudicate the difference when there is a breaking of federal statute
or state law in the furtherance of a crime or violence against law enforcement officers.
And that's when we step in.
Following Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's announcement to establish a strategic partnership
with the Chinese Communist Party and reduce tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, the
U.S. government, including President Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, voiced
their opposition.
Yesterday, President Trump wrote on True Social, Canada is systematically destroying itself.
The China deal is a disaster for them, will go down as one of the worst deals of any kind
in history, and their businesses are moving to the USA.
I want to see Canada survive and thrive.
President Trump also posted a video of Brian Kingston, the CEO of the Canadian Vehicle
Manufacturers Association, and President Trump urged everyone to take a look in the video.
Kingston stated that the trade agreement between Ottawa and Beijing is deeply concerning.
He said that the China-made automobile has the potential to undermine Canada's auto
sector and it presents risks to the future of our integrated North American automotive
supply chain.
Canada's market alone is too small to justify large-scale manufacturing.
The future of Canada's auto industry and the hundreds of thousands of jobs that it supports
depends on securing our trade relationship with the United States.
The federal government's decision to open the Canadian market to Chinese EVs is deeply
concerning.
The Canada-China strategic partnership has the potential to undermine Canada's auto
sector and presents risks to the future of our integrated North American automotive
supply chain.
Step one is repealing the costly and redundant EV sales mandate.
Under the new Canada-China strategic partnership, Chinese manufacturers that do not build cars
in Canada or employ Canadians will receive up to $980 million per year in compliance
credits.
These compliance credits will be paid for by the very companies that operate here, taking
money that could be reinvested in Canada, in Ontario, and sending it to China.
Step two is taking action to make Canada more competitive for auto.
We must urgently lower the cost of investing in plants, machinery, and R&D to give Canada
an edge over other jurisdictions.
The future of Canada's auto industry hangs in the balance.
The actions that we take now will determine whether or not we have an industry for 100
more years.
Diversification is not an option for the auto sector in North America as markets in Europe
and Asia are better served by assembly plants in those regions.
In a follow-up post, President Trump said that China is successfully and completely
taking over the once great country of Canada.
During an interview with ABC yesterday, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant discussed the high
degree of market integration between the United States and Canada, particularly in the automotive
sector.
Besant said that many of the goods used for auto manufacturing can cross across the border
during the manufacturing process six times.
He said we can't let Canada become an opening that the Chinese pour their cheap goods into
the U.S.
I'm not sure what Prime Minister Carney is doing here.
In a post on Saturday, President Trump said the last thing the world needs is to have
China take over Canada.
It's not going to happen or even come close to happening.
In response, and in the face of this wave of criticism, Carney said that Canada does
not intend to pursue a free trade agreement with China.
He emphasized that Canada has commitments under the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement
not to pursue free trade agreements with non-market economies without prior notification.
How are you responding to Trump's threats of 100% terrorists?
Well, the first thing is that Canada respects our engagements, our commitments.
We have commitments under CUSMA that not to pursue free trade agreements with non-market
economies without prior notification.
We have no intention of doing that with China or any other non-market economy.
What we've done with China is to rectify some issues that developed in the last couple of
years.
In many respects, we're going, to use the expression, back to the future with respect
to EVs, with respect to agriculture, with respect to fish products and other food products,
but with additional protections.
For example, back in 2023, we didn't have a cap on the number of EVs.
We didn't have a requirement for a large proportion of those EVs to be affordable, highly affordable
EVs for Canadians.
So it's entirely consistent with CUSMA, with our obligations, which we very much respect
under CUSMA, and we'll continue to work that way forward.
Yesterday, the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier entered U.S. Central Command waters
in the Indian Ocean as tensions continue to rise in the region.
But as it heads toward the Persian Gulf, it's still not within striking range of Iran.
Yesterday, the U.S. Air Force also announced a multi-day readiness exercise across the
Middle East.
This exercise is aimed at lowering the risk of miscalculation, reassuring regional partners
and showcasing its ability to deploy, spread out and sustain combat air power throughout
the region.
Similarly, the United Kingdom also deployed its Typhoon fighter jets to Qatar in a defensive
capacity.
Based on the Israeli media, Haim, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan
would provide logistical and intelligence support to the U.S. if there was an attack
on the Iranian regime.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of the Iranian regime said that they
are more ready than ever and warned the U.S. that it has its finger on the trigger.
Then in response, the UAE said in a statement today that they will not allow its airspace
land or territorial waters to be used for an attack on Iran.
The UAE government also said that it will not provide logistical support for any potential
attack on Iran.
Also, Arashi, the foreign minister of the Iranian regime, said today that the arrival
of foreign warships near Iran would not change their defense posture or approach to diplomacy.
There were also reports that President Trump's envoy, Steve Whitkoff, delivered a WhatsApp
message from Arashi and a written assurance from Iranian President Massoud Pazhishkian
to President Trump in an effort to dissuade him to postpone a military strike.
But today, Arashi denied the reports and he said that some media outlets had republished
reports that were attributed to Israeli sources without sufficient scrutiny.
According to Iran International, which is based in London, Ali Khamenei, the supreme
leader of the Islamic Republic regime in Iran, moved to a fortified shelter in Tehran, the
capital of Iran.
Reportedly, Khamenei moved to the shelter that is connected to a series of elaborate
underground tunnels, after senior military officials warned of the increasing likelihood
of an imminent U.S. attack.
The report described the facility as a fortified site with interconnected tunnels.
According to the report, Massoud Khamenei, the third son of Ali Khamenei, has assumed
day-to-day control of his father's office and he now acts as the main channel of communication
with the executive branches of the regime.
Even though Iran is still under internet blackout, based on newly obtained classified documents
that were reviewed by the editorial board of Iran International, more than 36,500 Iranians
were killed by the security forces of the Iranian regime during the January 8th and
9th crackdown on the protests in Iran.
According to Iran International, the new information sheds light on how the killing unfolded, and
it reveals the scale of what they call the largest and deadliest massacre of civilians
in history during street protests over a two-day period.
While the human tragedy under the Iranian regime continues to rise, Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that Israel would not hesitate to respond forcefully
to any threat from Iran.
Today, Netanyahu said that such an action would be a very serious mistake, one that
should never be repeated.
In the meantime, Brad Cooper, the commander of the U.S. Central Command, traveled to Israel
over the weekend and he met Aya Zemir, the chief of staff of the Israeli military.
In their meeting, Cooper described the coming week as decisive.
He also said that President Trump has not made a final decision yet, but he confirmed
that the United States will complete preparations and necessary measures for a potential operation
by the end of this week.
Reportedly, Israeli military officials also presented Israel's position to their American
counterparts and stressed that any initial strike on the Iranian regime would include
clearly defined military targets.
In the meantime, Israel's Civilian Aviation Authority head, Zakaria, warned foreign airlines
with a letter that the region may be entering a more sensitive period by the end of the
week.
In the letter, Zakaria said that the security situation remains dynamic, and he warned that
Israel could again move to close its airspace if necessary, as it did during the recent
12-day war with Iran.
Some Israeli airlines also announced today that they would allow customers to cancel
or receive vouchers for flights that were bought in the next two weeks because of uncertainty
in the region.
Following the framework agreement on Greenland that was reached between President Trump and
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Davos, the potential dispute over Western Hemisphere
security rapidly cooled.
Yet, as this Western Hemisphere drama subsided, another major event unfolded in the Eastern
Hemisphere.
The CCP Ministry of National Defense abruptly announced on Saturday noontime that Zhong
Yuxia, the vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the CCP, and Liu Jingli, the
chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission of the CCP, are
under investigation for serious violations of discipline and law.
For the CCP, such phrasing is typically a euphemism for serious political issues.
Viewers who regularly watch our channel will surely recognize the name Zhong Yuxia.
In terms of official rank, he is the second-highest ranking figure in the CCP military.
Xi Jinping serves as chairman of the Central Military Commission, while Zhong holds the
position of vice chairman.
But Zhong is the one who truly wields the real power over the military.
Xi Jinping lacks the authority to command the armed forces.
Liu Jingli, who fell from grace alongside Zhong Yuxia, held command over the core of
the Joint Staff system, and he was central to the entire military's operational command
chain.
His investigation signifies a breakdown in the entire operational system.
Their sudden downfall has shocked the world.
Victor Shai, a China studies expert at the University of California, San Diego, stated
on X,
We had heard rumors, but this is shocking to me.
Zhong Yuxia, one of Xi's oldest friends, who helped him consolidate power.
I just can't believe that corruption alone did this.
In fact, rumors that Zhong Yuxia had been taken away for investigation began circulating
online as early as January 20th, before the official announcement on Saturday, since he
was absent from an important high-level meeting that day.
At the time, numerous rumors circulated online.
Some reports claimed that Zhong Yuxia had been arrested.
Liu Jingli, who was also absent from the meeting, was reportedly detained alongside him.
The details of these rumors vary.
Some claim this individual ordered the arrests, while others say that the operation was orchestrated
by someone else.
Some allege that Zhong Yuxia's family members were also detained, while others state that
his secretary was arrested at the same time.
Still, others claim that after Zhong was summoned for questioning, Liu Jingli led troops to
rescue him, and so on.
Meanwhile, counterclaims quickly emerged refuting the rumors, stating that Zhong Yuxia and Liu
Jingli had not run into trouble at all, but simply declined to appear at events presided
over by Xi Jinping.
Some even allege that Xi Jinping's faction planned to take action against dissenting
voices during this meeting.
So since Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli had uncovered this plot, they chose not to attend.
The details of such revelations also vary widely.
Some claim that after the September 3rd military parade last year, the 38th Army Group that
was stationed near Beijing never departed.
The 38th Army is one of the CCP's most elite forces, known as the Immortal Army.
They are charged with safeguarding Beijing and its surrounding areas.
Liu Jingli once commanded the 38th Army a decade ago.
Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli kept the 38th Army in Beijing in order to prevent any potential
unrest in the capital.
Some also claim that Zhong Yuxia has long been staying at a Special Operations Brigade
base while Liu Jingli is at an underground command post.
Those in Xi Jinping's camp simply can't get close to them.
These rumors have spread like wildfire across overseas social media platforms, growing increasingly
sensational with each retelling.
This situation strongly suggests that someone within the CCP is deliberately leaking information
to the outside world, likely representing different factions.
The content of these leaks appear clearly contradictory and antagonistic.
After the official announcement that Zhong and Liu were under investigation, multiple
sources indicated that they were detained for their involvement in a failed coup attempt.
The political blogger Bai Zhong claimed that Zhong Yuxia and others had plotted a coup,
but their plans were thwarted when they were betrayed by associates.
He also revealed that Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli had begun preparing to take action
as early as late December.
Sheng Xu, a leader of the overseas Chinese democracy movement, disclosed on social media
that her friend in China, using the pseudonym Mr. X, revealed to her on January 19th, four
days before the official announcement that Zhong Yuxia had been arrested, and that a
major upheaval might occur within the Chinese Communist Party.
After the official announcement, Mr. X provided her with a more detailed account of the sequence
of events.
On the evening of January 18th, Xi Jinping was scheduled to stay at the Jingxi Hotel
in Beijing.
That same night, Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli had planned to arrest Xi Jinping.
However, two hours before the operation, someone tipped off Xi Jinping, so Xi Jinping immediately
evacuated the Jingxi Hotel and deployed countermeasures.
Zhong and Liu were unaware that their plan had been exposed, so they still sent soldiers
to the Jingxi Hotel.
A gunfight broke out, resulting in casualties on both sides.
Xi Jinping's faction then swiftly detained Zhong and Liu, immediately placing their family
members under arrest.
After the official announcement, the South China Morning Post's latest report also
confirmed that Zhong Yuxia was formally detained by the military's anti-corruption department
on January 19th.
Former Inner Mongolia official Du Wen corroborated Mr. Xi's account.
Citing sources within the system, he stated that news of a coup had been widely circulating
in China.
Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli had jointly attempted to launch a coup against Xi Jinping, but their
plot was exposed.
At the 11th hour, Xi Jinping had the two men arrested.
Four hours after the official announcement was issued, the People's Liberation Army
Daily published an editorial with extremely harsh language which assigned a highly politicized
characterization of Zhong and Liu.
The editorial in the military newspaper accused the two of grossly betraying the trust and
important responsibilities entrusted by the Party Central Committee and the Central Military
Commission, seriously undermining and trampling upon the system of responsibility of the Chairman
of the Central Military Commission, and severely damaging the image and prestige of the Central
Military Commission leadership.
It also claimed that their actions had caused enormous damage to the political environment
and the military's combat effectiveness, and had an extremely detrimental impact on
the Party, the state, and the military.
According to current affairs commentator Li Linyi, the severity of the wording used in
the military newspaper extends beyond the typical political context of corruption cases.
This seems to confirm the theory that Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli jointly attempted a failed
coup.
This time, the Chinese Communist Party acted differently from previous instances, issuing
a notice swiftly and using strong language.
Former CCP Central Military Commission Chairman He Weidong disappeared from public view in
March of 2025, with his downfall only officially announced in October of the same year.
But this time, just four days after his absence from an event on January 20, Zhong Yuxia was
swiftly announced to have fallen from grace.
Within hours, media outlets published their own reports.
Shen Xu believes that this demonstrates Xi Jinping's intention to use public opinion
to suppress any potential dissenters, warning them against acting impulsively.
Zhong and Liu's downfall has resulted in the removal of nearly all members of the Central
Military Commission.
Zhong Shengmin aside, and who was appointed Vice Chair of the Commission in an emergency
last year, Xi Jinping is now the sole remaining member.
According to informed sources, the detention of Zhong Yuxia and Liu Jingli triggered a
rapid chain reaction within the CCP military.
Multiple mid-to-senior level officers were immediately ordered to suspend their vacations
and remain on standby at their posts, while some scheduled engagements were urgently cancelled.
The military's command, propaganda and political declaration systems were simultaneously tightened,
with the overall atmosphere swiftly shifting to a state of heightened tension.
So does this mean that Xi Jinping will regain full control of the military?
It's too early to say, but some analysts believe that this could lead to Xi Jinping's
swift removal from power, which we will explain tomorrow.
And that's a wrap for this episode.
