Meteorologist Jared Piepenberg on this Friday morning off
to a mild start and we're gonna have another warm one today
and then one more for tomorrow and then things will get back
to closer to average coming up here but a quiet morning for us.
Thought we'd walk through futurecast.
There's a small chance of some showers across western and central parts
of the state throughout late morning into about mid afternoon or so.
You can see here's 130 with futurecast.
This does extend up to the north and east and it may drop
a little bit farther toward the south. I would say there's a really
small chance for a passing shower around
the twin cities probably very late afternoon into very
earlier parts of the evening kind
of that that commute time there may just be enough to run the
windshield wipers a couple times
so that moves on by that's out of here your overnight hours are
staying very very mild but a cold front will
be sweeping across the state on saturday it starts
in northwestern minnesota sliding out
of the dakota some scattered showers along that boundary
and that will slowly drop south
and eastward throughout the day ahead of that front we're
warm. We are breezy. We should still warm up
into the 70s for southern Minnesota, including the Twin
Cities into western Wisconsin.
But again, similar time frame to the chance of small showers for
today. It's going to be late afternoon,
evening hours for the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota
as we close out the day. It should be enough time
that we warm up into those 70s, but then
behind that, we are going to cool down.
Then we're going to stay cooler through the extended. And
cooler, it'll actually just be closer to average for us
because we've been so far above that
here recently. We hit 75 yesterday, have us going up to 74.
Most are in the lower 70s here this
afternoon. Keep in mind there's that small chance
for a passing shower this late afternoon. I was
thinking sometime maybe 4 or 5 p.m. for the Twin Cities.
We could see that. It will be breezy today,
especially in western parts of the state.
Some gusts over 30 miles per hour. Not expecting those
gusts for the Twin Cities. Now tonight, very, very warm.
Average high temperatures are in the mid 50s
with the breeze overnight tonight and the cloud cover.
It should keep us close to 60 or even
above, so a warm one for
tomorrow. Similar high te
front will pass on throug
for some scattered showe
can see the variety of te
where Detroit Lakes DL st
mid seventies down in sou
ahead of that front and y
color contour. So big shi
to back 74 for today and
breezy at that very small
even in the metro here la
hours. And then your sata
part of the day is going to feature that chance
of showers as that front moves on through. Behind
that front, almost a 20 degree drop for us.
55 on Sunday. Our average high right now is 54. Average
low is 38. So our mornings won't be as close to average next week.
They'll still be cooler, but
maybe not as chilly as it could be.
Our daytime highs, though, look to hover mainly in the 50s.
If we want to pick out a day that's maybe a little milder,
kind of looks like Wednesday
right now. It could peak really close to 60,
but I do not see the 70s returning in the upcoming week.
