Struggling to feel cable goblet squats in the right places or getting pulled forward during the movement?
In this video, I break down how to properly do a cable goblet squat so you can build stronger legs, better core control, and cleaner squat mechanics — without wasting reps.
Most people rush this exercise and miss key setup details that completely change how effective it is. I’ll walk you through simple but powerful cues that help you stay upright, stay tight, and get more out of every rep.
You’ll learn: • How to position the handle so the cable works with you, not against you • Why knee position makes or breaks your squat • How deep you actually need to squat for results • The biggest mistake that pulls people forward (and how to avoid it)
If your squats feel awkward, unstable, or just “off,” this video will fix that.
👉 Watch till the end to clean up your form and make cable goblet squats one of your go-to lower body exercises.

What's going on, everyone?
It is your form expert, Coach Kyle.
Today, I'm going to show you how to do a V-bar cable goblet squat.
So let's jump right into it.
So setup-wise, you're going to have it set up at the very bottom of the cable.
And to get into positioning, it will be a little bit awkward.
But once you do, you're good to go.
Get underneath just like this.
Stand up.
This will be your starting position.
Keeping the weight nice and tight to your chest.
You don't want it to be out here.
Nice and tight, OK?
From here, set up just like a squat.
Knees pointed outward slightly.
And all you're going to do is just bring it all the way down
to the squat positioning, and then stand all the way up, OK?
Hands nice and tight to your chest.
Sink into that 90-degree range at the very bottom.
Stand all the way up.
Control at all times.
You're going to have to fight that temptation of the cable
trying to pull you forward.
That's what's great about this, is you have
to keep your core engaged at all times, or else you're going to topple over.
Here's what a few clean reps looks like.
And that's basically it.
It's an amazing, simple exercise.
Once complete, just let it go at the bottom like this.
And that's exactly how you do a cable goblet squat with a V-bar.
