This week we visit Vienna's Christmas market, find a peace Buddha and drive for 13 hours straight.
Hello. Good morning. Good morning. How are we? Well this here is the Danube
and you might be forgiven for thinking that we are still in Budapest
but this is Vienna. Just travelled three hours up the Danube to Vienna and the reason...
You all right? I just got tangled with the dog. Last week we didn't upload a video because
I wasn't really in a fit state because I had to go to the dentist again for a second time to get
the two bottom ones molars out. That was fun. Yes and he was in quite a lot of pain. Couldn't
really move his jaw so yeah. So yes, all is a lot better now though so that's all good.
Oh yeah, by the way, have you seen the boat here? These cruise ships. They're really cool.
They are really cool. Look, I'll just show you quickly. How cool is that? It's pretty sleek,
right? And I found myself wondering. I don't like cruises generally. I don't like the idea of it.
Not my bag but a river cruise maybe. You can have some pretty cool stop-offs at cities and things
rather than just in ports. Okay so yeah, we decided to come to Vienna for the Christmas
market as well. Vienna is meant to be one of the best. I mean I think it's in the top three in the
world and whilst we're this way it would have been rude not to go because I've always wanted
to go there. So we'll show you a bit of that now.
Nightly shining, it is the night. The dear Saviour is born. In sin and error piney appears.
And the spirit fell. A thrill of a weary world. For a young...
Ami in a van, working. Sorting out her settings on her camera so she can do her video.
Now the storage is actually full so... This is a consistent problem isn't it? No it's not.
Yeah. It's the first time all three have been quiet all day so it's good.
I think Coco's giving like hamster vibes right now. She's totally giving hamster vibes.
So anyway this is one of Vienna's Christmas markets and I know it's a little bit early
for Christmas for you guys but... It's early for everyone. Yes everything's early for you.
I'm still in summer mode. It's too cold. Look she's still got her legs out. Look,
she's got tights on but... Yeah but she's paid for that today. Yeah but I just am not ready for
winter. Dress how you want, not for the season. And she shivers. I mean her jaw was literally like
this earlier on. It wasn't good, it wasn't good. We're going to continue our little tour,
take you along and yeah see what else we can see.
Well I hope you enjoyed that little tour of the Christmas market but today is another day. The
weather is far better. It was a very very very cold wind for which we were not prepared. The
dogs did not want to come out of their pushchair. They were kind of in it with their blankets and
they were not coming out. I don't blame them because if I'd had the option I'd have done that
too. That was probably the worst day we've had so far isn't it in regards to cold and wind. And we
were out and about and quite far from the van. The other thing with Vienna it's pretty difficult
to park a van here. There's a lot of like restricted to two hour parking. So we had to park
far far out where we knew we weren't going to be disturbed by fines or police. So that necessitated
a cab ride in which was quite scary. Yeah the driver seemed more enamoured in his mobile phone
than he did concentrating on the road. So that was a little bit scary. Did hit the curb twice.
That park up that we did find is pretty sick to be honest because we're literally
right by the side of this river which is beautiful. And we've got this pagoda which
is something to do with peace I believe. And today we are heading on another monster journey
but this time it's back to the south of France. We're just going to walk the dogs
and get back in the cab and go.
Much needed. Well you saw the peace Buddha out there. Well there's something else which is
called peace of mind and this brings me to NordVPN. When you're on the move like we are
you sometimes have to link in to wi-fi that is not necessarily that secure. So we use NordVPN
to secure our network. My IP address is now in Los Angeles not here not using my own IP address.
When you're a nomad like we are it's very very important that people can't actually see what
you're what you're doing through weak security networks. The other really good thing that you
can use it for as well is cookies. Now I'm hungry. Cookies are used by airlines to actually analyze
you and what you're searching for online including being able to put up flight costs for instance
because you've been on the site a few times. The next day when you go on to book it
miraculously the price has gone up a bit because they're actually monitoring everything that you're
doing. The next day I want to go and book a flight. Let's go to Mexico instead so I'll just
click on Mexico. The airline now thinks I'm booking something from Mexico. It can make travel
cheaper. So go to the link below and get four bonus months on a two-year plan and it's risk-free
with Nord's 30-day money-back guarantee. I'll see you in the cab. Right okay already set to go so
but you found out some information about that haven't you? There wasn't a lot actually of information on the
but it is a peace pagoda like for buddhism built in 1983 but it was a really cool structure and
well anyone can go there and put a little incense stick and pray or meditate whatever you prefer to
do. It'd be cool though just have that kind of in the middle of nowhere really. We're a good 20 minutes
outside of Vienna and so I think it's probably one of the hidden secrets around here but yeah
it's lovely. Anyway it's time to go. Emy is now in her van and ready to go. Are you ready?
Yeah she's ready. It's a 13-hour journey on the old sat-nav so we're gonna go. It is Sunday as well
because we wanted to avoid the lorries going through Italy because that was a real problem
last time. So we're going now on a Sunday and lorries aren't allowed on the motorways
on a Sunday. So between 8 a.m and 10 p.m there you go in November anyway. Yeah are you dying?
Nope. Well I hope you'll be a bit safer because that was not fun. Yeah that was not good.
Anyway let's go.
So
At long last. Eventually we got there. I used to fall asleep doing that.
Long one. It's now 3.30 in the morning. I think we left at about 12.30 but we did do most of the
journey without lorries and the dogs have been troopers. Coco's panting a bit at the moment
because I think she needs a dump. We need to go to sleep. And we do need to go to sleep. I guess
we'll show you where we are tomorrow. It's somewhere we've been before so you will recognise
it. But we're going to jump in the back and get our heads down and we'll see you again in the morning.
Well good morning. Good morning. We are, well those of you that follow our channel
will know the Phantom Shitter. So that will give you a good indication of where we are
and there are still signs of the Phantom Shitter here which is a bit disturbing. First thing we
noticed. 3.30 in the morning. But it is gorgeous. The temperature is marvellous and somebody else
just turned up. Hello. Looking marvellous to match the scenery. Yes absolutely. And she actually fits
in here rather marvellously don't you darling? I am. You are Mrs Riviera aren't you?
It's 22 degrees today. 22 today? 24 tomorrow.
So we're just going to go for a stroll. I know you've seen Nice before. But this is our life.
But this is it. You know we live in a van not because we want to necessarily travel around all
the time. We live in a van because we want to live in the place that we want to live in.
So yeah. Let's get going. Seagulls are happy to see us. Do you mind? So yeah we're going to get the
dogs hitched up and let's go. Ew ew I don't even want to be here though. Hello. Well it's been a
little while since we last spoke and I've not really recorded much since we began this day to
be honest. But we've had a lovely day. We needed to go to some boring shops to go and get some
stuff. But we've come here right on the edge of the bay here in Nice just to have a drink. We've
never we've never actually been here to have a drink and some food. So we're absolutely starving.
So we're going to grab some food. We're having a nice drink and we yes the sun's going definitely
but look how pretty it is. Look how beautiful it is out here. I mean what a location to have a drink
right. It's one of the reasons why we're actually back here now. But I thought I'd have a little
discussion with you because the thing is me and Ami have been talking today about the future
and the future of Ami in a van and kind of what she wants to do next. What is it you want to do next?
It's a great big secret. It is a great big secret. Well it's not so much of a secret because I'll
tell you we've been having a little discussion about whether Ami should actually go to LA.
You guys have been telling her why doesn't she go into modeling? Why doesn't she become an actress
and stuff like this? And do you know what? You've been hitting the nail on the head for the last 18
months with her channel and I believe that you are correct. I think that she should follow
a career in acting, in TV, in modeling and take her career to the next level.
So that's kind of what we've been talking about today and one of the major discussions was that
Ami's filmed every single video herself for the last 18 months or however long you've been doing
YouTube. It might be quite good fun but certainly for me and Ami to actually make one of your
YouTube videos with me behind the camera with a gimbal. Let me know what you think because I
think we could create something a little bit different. Oh food's coming.
Let us know if you think that'd be a good idea. I think it's quite exciting myself.
Yeah let us know. I think we're actually going to check out on this video now
and enjoy our food and head back to the van afterwards and we'll see you again next week.
We've got some plans that we want to do whilst we're in France. Some more beautiful towns and
cities, well mainly towns that we want to go to so stay tuned for those. We will see you again
next week. Bye for now. Say bye Ami.
