What The Pho
Hi everyone! Today is International Women's Day, so I decided to treat myself to delicious
vegetarian food at a luxury restaurant called Yiu Dam Chai. It's located at 55 Nguyen Du,
and is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants in Hanoi. The reason why I chose this restaurant
was that I love the concept behind the Yudumbara, which means sacred flower,
descending to earth from heaven. I really enjoy the cozy and quiet vibe with nutritious and
healthy cuisine here. What I love the most about this restaurant is how detailed and
sophisticated the foods are. And if you come to Hanoi, you definitely need to check out this place.
Okay, so for appetizer, I have the fried lotus with cheese powder on it. It looks really,
really good guys. Look at that. Oh my gosh. I've never had this before, and I couldn't believe
that lotus can be like this little chips. It smells really good. So it tastes just like chips,
and then I can smell the cheese powder in there. And it's just had a very unique scent. I think
it's from the lotus too. The price of this dish is 105,000 Vietnam Dong, which is $5.
I would rate it 9 out of 10 because it's really, really good. Highly recommend. Now let's move on
to the second dish. This one is called soup pad thumb. So it's with the pine seeds,
and it looks like clam chowder that I ate in California, in San Francisco, California.
Wow. It's very creamy, and it's very milky. I feel like it has very similar taste for clam
chowder in San Francisco, guys. They don't use sourdough like in California, but I just wish
they have more mushroom. Oh my gosh. It's so good. What I love the most about this place is that they
have very colorful vegetarian food, and they serve international food as well. So if you're from
Mexico or you're from Japan or Korea, you can see they have sushi here for you. And they also have
the quesadilla or like tacos that they call it here, served with like very colorful and tasty
sauce. So I just ordered the quesadilla, and let's see what they have inside because it looks really
good. Oh my gosh. Can you see it? There you go. Okay. So I'm just gonna dip it in here first.
So in here, I believe that they have mushroom, they have avocado, and I believe the orange one
is sweet potatoes, but it tastes really really good. Once in a while, you're gonna taste jalapenos
in there, and it just gives us a very nice taste. The price of this dish is VND 195,000.
And this is me enjoying my orange carrot drink with quesadilla. You know how good it is by just
looking at my face, right? I would say the drink here is a little bit saltier than other restaurants,
but then it still tastes very good with other food. Did you know Hanoi is known for young rice,
and when you come here, you definitely need to try this Japanese tofu fried with young rice,
and it's VND 145,000, worth every penny of your money. Okay, I am very excited to try this one
because they call it the Japanese tofu, and then they fry it with the young rice,
in Vietnamese, and I can't wait to try this because it just sounds really yummy. And then
they serve with the young rice, oh no, oh yeah, the young rice sauce, and this one is the Vietnamese
crackers. I really like this corner in this restaurant because it is just so beautiful
with the bamboo trees and decoration, makes the room really cozy, and the music is great,
and I hope YouTube is not gonna copyright me for this. Oh my gosh, look at this, this is fried rice
in pineapple. It is so cool, guys. In here, they have rice, tomatoes, beans, and maca seeds. I'm not
sure if I pronounced it right, but maca is a very, very good seed that provides a lot of protein and
vitamins for your body. I really like it because the rice is just right. It's not as hard as other
fried rice I have tried, and I like the flavor as well because it has the sour touch from the
pineapple, sour and sweet from the pineapple, and with all the ingredients in here, especially the
maca nuts, it's just like bring it up to the next level. This dish is VND 125,000, and I would
rate it 8 out of 10. When we talk about vegetarian food, especially in Vietnam, we can't forget to
mention the phở cuốn, which is all the rolls, and in the phở rolls, they have mushroom, cucumber, carrots, and tofu.
Okay, so I'm just gonna dip in the peanut sauce. It is so fresh, guys. Very healthy.
Oh, it's good too. It's with seaweed, carrots, and cucumbers, yes, in it.
The fruit salad is quite interesting because it has the mint dressing, and they use seasonal
fruits to make the salad. The whole tray costs VND 245,000, and I would highly recommend it
if you don't want any oily food and you just want fresh rolls. Last but not least, sushi.
They have cashew nuts on top with cheese and with more cheese inside, I believe.
I just wish they made the sushi smaller bites because it's quite hard to chew and it's mouthful
because the sushi is sticky. For that reason, I'm gonna rate this one 6 out of 10.
The sushi is a little bit sticky, stickier than normal sushi, but I really like the cashew on
top of it. It just gives it the crunchiness, and it should just bring a very unique texture
for the sushi. I am so full right now, but it's really good to treat myself sometime.
Now, I'm gonna ask the waiter to give me the to-go box because no food will go to waste.
Okay, so finally, I'm done with my lunch. It was really, really good, and I highly recommend you
guys to come here. I couldn't finish the pineapple rice, so I have it left over to
bring it back home. So yeah, thank you so much, you guys, for watching, and I'll see you guys in next video.
