Being a landscape photographer, there's everything out here.
I'm just trying to show just how grand and epic these places are.
We all like to enjoy nature in our own way.
I like to be a little more grounded.
I get my rush from just taking shots.
When I'm out here in Yosemite, I'm just so excited to shoot.
The landscape is just one of a kind and it's just iconic.
It's my favorite time of year to shoot.
The leaves are turning yellow.
You got all the foliage that contrasts with the, you know, granite rocks out here.
It's one of my favorite places to shoot this time of year.
It's great that a company like Sigma is offering access
to a wide range of quality lenses with sharpness and build quality.
I moved to California from Boston in 2015, started doing hiking.
I started taking photos on my phone to show my friends back home what it was like out here.
And it's just mind-blowing to see in person.
I just couldn't get the photos to look the way I felt when I was out there.
It just made me pick up my first camera and kind of what got me
obsessed with photography and hiking and just visiting all these national parks
and seeing these landscapes in person.
I brought the Sigma 60-600 with me.
I like the big wide open landscape shots.
Those are usually my favorite, but I've been getting more into more detailed stuff.
So kind of more zoomed in, more minimalistic.
So the 60-600 is actually perfect for the type of shooting I've been doing lately.
The reason why I chose Sigma is quality for what you're getting.
If you can't really beat, it's just the best glass on the market in my opinion.
Sharpness for sure is one of my favorite things about the lenses.
It's rugged, it's sturdy.
Really looking forward to using the lens at Glacier Point today and against some shots of Half Dome.
So I usually plan around what sunrise is right now.
Since sunrise is still late, it's kind of nice.
I don't need to wake up as early.
Summertime though, you know, waking up at 3am to catch sunrise, do a hike.
Not as fun, but right now sunset's at 7am, which is perfect time for shooting.
So usually I get to a scene, I kind of just walk around and look before I even take my camera out.
I just kind of see what's around, try to see if I can find something unique, something different.
And then from there, I'll take my lens, my camera out, find out whatever focal length is best.
So here in Yosemite, this lens is great because I can get some real wide shots and then really
zoom in so I can get a whole range of shots and I can move around and
really get something kind of unique.
Always just insane.
