t's been a hectic few months! Back out on loan enjoying my football. Welcome back to the channel everyone! Excited to bring you this video which is a full insight into my life as a pro...Nutrition, training, gym work and more!
So, it's been a crazy last few months. Moving away from home for the first time,
making my League 2 debut, playing away at Swansea in the Carabao Cup and then being
sent out on loan. All of that happening in just a few weeks, but that's just the reality of life
as a footballer. Now, the season's flying by and it's already been full of big highs,
tough lows and everything in between. And so in today's video, I'll be taking you for a full
week in my life during the season as we build up to a massive game on Saturday, the side that
people don't usually see. Training sessions, gym work, recovery, nutrition, the full behind
the scenes look at what actually goes into preparing for a match day as a professional
footballer. And so without further ado, let's get straight into the video.
What is going on, everyone? Welcome back to another YouTube video. Now, firstly,
I just want to hold my hands up and apologise. I know it's been a while since I posted a YouTube
video, but I've made it a big goal of mine, especially for the new year, to be posting
more on YouTube. And that's exactly what we're doing in today's video. I'm going to be showing
you exactly what it looks like leading up to a game during the season. So, there's going to be
multiple different gym sessions that we're doing, as well as that different training clips as well,
showing you exactly how we prepare for it. And so, if you like the sound of that,
hit the like button, subscribe to the channel if you're new. We're about to head to the gym.
Let's go. Right, so we're back. It's Monday, the 1st of December. Always important you start
the week off right. More importantly, you start the month off right. So, we had the day off,
which is always nice on a Monday. Got ourselves down to the gym, as you guys saw. We've done a
full upper body session, full core session, and then jumped in the sauna for around 15 to 20
minutes. So, we got a full recovery in, got a full session in as well, all ready for tomorrow's
training session, which is going to be a big one. Tuesdays, as always, is going to be the toughest
day of the week. But yeah, plan for the week. As you guys saw, we completed an upper body session
a little bit earlier on today, so that's ticked off. First session of the week done. That'll then
take us into tomorrow, which is going to be our toughest day of the week, it being a Tuesday. So,
we're going to complete a leg day in the afternoon, training in the morning. And during those
sessions, we're probably going to cover around 9 to 10km in distance, so it is going to be a heavy
one. That'll then take us onto Wednesday, which will be our recovery day. Thursday, again,
another double session day, where I'm going to do another upper body session in the afternoon,
but training in the morning as well. Friday being match day minus one, where we're going
to prepare fully for the game. And of course, Saturday, the most important time of the week,
which is match day. Now, we're just going to complete some work on my app. So, let's get
straight to it. Right, weekly shot. Now, I try and do these every Monday or Tuesday,
really simple. High carbs, high protein, try and keep as healthy as possible as well. So,
starting off with the protein, I'll try and keep this short and sweet. Things like chicken breast,
lean beef mince as well. I've also got some salmon in the fridge, so I don't need to buy any,
luckily. But they're the three I really go for. Salmon, lean beef mince, and also chicken breast,
and I just alternate throughout the week with that. And then when it comes to my carbs, again,
really simple. Things like potatoes, we also have some pasta just here as well, and there's also
some noodles. Once again, alternate between all of that, just make different types of meals.
Like I said, I just keep everything really simple, really clean, high in carbs, high in protein.
Rice cakes, a little bit of a cheat meal. Have these probably in the evenings after a tough
training session. And of course, you can't forget about Greek yogurt. Have that with the grapes,
and also some berries, which I've got in the fridge as well. That's pretty much how simple it
is. Keep all of my meals really clean, really basic as well throughout the week, just to make
sure I'm getting everything in, all of my protein, all of my carbs, so I'm fully energised for
training and for games. And then obviously on the weekend as well, I'll try and enjoy a little bit,
whether I go out for a restaurant or anything like that. But during the week, try and keep
it as clean as possible, and this fully stocks me up for the week.
Right, what's going on, everyone? Sunny one today. Just on my way to the gym. Time's currently two
o'clock in the afternoon. It's a late one. I try and get all my sessions done in the morning, but
I've been working all morning on my training app. You guys will find out more about that later.
When I have Mondays off, Wednesdays off, of course, I just prioritise my app as much as possible,
and then days, as well as recovery as well, because football's really intense, especially
during the week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, you're getting double session days, as you guys will
have seen throughout this video. Fridays are matchday minus one, so I'm really prioritising
recovery. And then, of course, Saturday is matchday. Sundays where I really try and just
switch off from everything, whether that's football or even working on my apps, I try and
switch off from everything. So yeah, Wednesday and Monday are my days where I really lock in
on my training app, on my social media. And yeah, I've been really trying to grow them over this
year. And to be fair, it's been going really well. I don't know if you guys have been keeping up to
date with my TikTok, Instagram or whatever, but it's been going really well. So hopefully,
we can continue that. But yeah, on my way to the gym, I'm going to do a full recovery session,
get a mobility session in, about 10 minutes on the bike. And then, of course, we'll get onto
the sauna and steam room. I won't be able to take my camera in there just for obvious reasons. But
yeah, we'll get around, hopefully, three sets of 10 minutes in the sauna. That will lead us on
nicely to the rest of the day where we're going to do some work later. I've got a few calls
scheduled as well later for my app. And then, we've got a lot of planning to do for the rest
of the week in terms of what my content's going to look like and stuff like that. I think a big
difference with what I've done this year in terms of my content is it's very much been planned
in advance. I used to just get home from training and make whatever video was on my mind. But
I think over the last year, I've really made sure I've put a lot more effort into it.
And I've actually tailored my content into what my audience actually want. So it's been going
really well, to be fair. I haven't really been focusing too much on going viral as such. I just
want to kind of help as many people as possible. Quite a lot of people on my app. So yeah, obviously,
really proud. It's been around two years now. It's coming up to two years, actually, since we started
the app. And yeah, the growth's been unbelievable. So obviously, I appreciate everyone that's on
there. Even if you downloaded it and you haven't subscribed, but you're on there, you're using it
because there is free content on there as well. I, of course, appreciate you because I put a lot
of effort and a lot of work into there, as you guys will see later on in the video.
Right, so we're going to look to get at least 15 minutes in on here, around 80 rpm,
a little bit higher, 80 to 85. And then hopefully, that'll take us up to five to six kilometers in
distance. And then after that, we'll get on the treadmill, do another light walk, get the blood
flowing around the body again, and then straight to the swimming pool.
So I ended up doing around six kilometers on the bike in distance. I'm going to do around 15,
20 minutes, really light walk. We're on about level seven here. I don't want to do anything
too strenuous. It's important. We do have a big session tomorrow. Keep the muscles loose,
don't want them to stiffen up for tomorrow's session. So yeah, there's what I'll do. I'll
get in the sauna afterwards as well for around 20 minutes. Hopefully, I might do a little bit
longer, depending on how I'm feeling. It's really important you're listening to your
body on recovery days. Can't stress it enough. Don't want to push yourself too hard. Recovery
days are really important, just as important as your training. If you've been watching for a while,
you'd know compression boots are compulsory every single day. So we'll do that a little
bit later on as well. Right, that is the session done. Finally, session complete.
Them sessions are probably one of the most boring ones of the week, just because you're basically
doing nothing. You do 10 minutes slow walk, obviously about 15 minutes on the bike, and then
sauna. It's boring as ever because you're just sitting there, really. I do a little bit of
stretching in there, but there's only so much you can do. And I probably needed it as well,
to be fair, because my sleep wasn't very good last night, to be honest. I probably had about
eight hours of sleep. On recovery days, I always try and get at least eight to nine hours of sleep.
So I did have a good amount of sleep. Yeah, I just felt a little bit run down. So this recovery day
probably came at a good time, probably due to the fact that obviously I had 90 minutes on the
weekend. On Monday, of course, trained. Yesterday, I had a really hard session. Like I said, we
covered like nine kilometers, and then we had the big lower body session. So my body was a bit run
down. To be fair, I feel a lot better now that I've done that full session. So it came at a perfect
time. And a lot of people do ask me how I track my sleep on an everyday basis, how hard I push
myself in training. You can really see your strain, your sleep, and it's simple. I wear this
Woot band every single day. Today, my recovery score, for example, would have been really low,
so I knew I wouldn't have to push myself as much in training. But yeah, if you like to track your
own sleep, see how hard you've worked throughout the day, you can get your own Woot. Use the link
in the description. It will give you your first month free. Also helps me out a little bit. So
I'd greatly appreciate it. If not, you don't need to get it, of course, but it's just one out there
if you want to really boost your performance. I call it one of the 1%. You can really just track
a little bit of your lifestyle. You can see certain habits and just see how it affects
your lifestyle. So if you like your one, click the link in the description. So morning, everyone.
Time is currently eight o'clock, about an hour until we have to be at training. So I thought I
could let you guys know what I'm taking, what supplements I take every single morning. I do
eat breakfast here as well. I could eat it at the ground, but I do prefer just to get it in
at home before, just because I know exactly what I'm eating. So it makes everything a little bit
easier. I'm starting to track my calories as well. So of course, if you've been watching me,
you'd know every morning, put one electrolyte tablet in a glass of water. That'll just kick
start the hydration process. Also take a vitamin D3 tablet just because there's never any stunt
in the UK. It's important we're getting this in, just helps with faster recovery and also reduce
fatigue. As well as that, also taking omega-3 fish oils is going to help with just reducing
inflammation and also help with any muscle soreness. And then onto the big one, which is
creatine. I know a lot of you guys do ask me in my DMs, literally, I get so many comments about it
as well in my TikToks, whether you should start taking this. And right off the bat, this is
actually the most researched and safest supplement you can take. So if you're worried about the
safety of it, don't worry. It is actually really safe. Now it's proven to help with things like
your strength and your explosiveness. Also your brain performance under fatigue. See if it makes
any difference. If you don't see anything, then there's no point taking it. But if you do definitely
jump on it. Let me know how it goes in the comment section, or you can even DM me on Instagram.
So
we're back home. As always, if you've been watching me for a while, you'd know,
always jump on these compression boots. Really good just to increase blood flow,
help flush out any lactic acid. So we're going into the game as fresh as possible tomorrow. But
yeah, it feels good knowing all of our work is done for the week. Tuesday, Thursday, double session
days. Today was a bit lighter just because it was all about tactical work. So we just done a little
bit of walkthroughs, 11 v 11s, and then a bit of small sided at the end, just to get our sharpness
going for tomorrow's game. But that's literally what it's like. You work hard all week just so
you're fully prepared for the game on Saturday, both tactically, physically, and also mentally.
And for me personally, it does give me that edge. Obviously, it's completely personal preference.
But for me, I know when I've worked hard throughout the week, I've done every session that I've needed
to do to the best of my ability. And I'm going into the game tomorrow at my best. So that already
gives me that competitive edge and I'm going into it fully prepared. Now I have shown you in recent
videos what I do on a Friday, but it doesn't change today. As always, jump on the compression
boots. And instead of just sitting on my phone doing nothing, I usually do analyse the opponents
or the defenders who I'll be coming up against tomorrow. And it's really simple. I'll just be
Now I'm quite fortunate. I do have quite a few things I can use. But when I don't, I'll just use
things like YouTube highlights, anything I can get really just to see what I'm coming up against
tomorrow. And yeah, you can take notes or you can just be a visual learner. But I'd recommend this
for anyone who's really serious about going into their game at their best. Also, as it is the end
of the week, I do usually just go for a full recap of the app, seeing how many signups, how many
downloads we got. Also, if there's any new messages or anything like that as well. We also plan for
the week ahead in advance, we know exactly what we're uploading. So everything's all planned. I'm
quite a planned person. I don't really like doing anything off the cuff, as you can tell. But yeah,
we had a Black Friday sale, which has just gone last week really successful. We've got loads of
new signups as well, which I'm really grateful for. Of course, if you still want to sign up,
there's still time, click the link in the description, it'll take you right to my training
app. There's in season programmes, off season programmes, gym sessions, the list goes on.
And I always say everything that I've put into this app is everything that I've learned as a
footballer over the last few years. So I'm still adding more content to it. There's so much more
content coming. We have so much more content planned in 2026 as well. And this will be,
and I already think this is already one of the biggest football programmes. It will give you
everything, all of the information that you need to become a better footballer. So if you want to
download it, click the link in the description or even the link in the comments. Any questions,
drop me a DM. But yeah, that's it. Now we're just going to chill for the rest of the evening,
switch off a little bit, make dinner in around an hour, and that'll put us in good shape going into
the game tomorrow. You know, three points here could see us creep back up into that playoff spot.
Oh my goodness. Great header from John Gilbert. What a save from Charlie Binns.
I mean, that's an incredible save.
And there's a penalty.
It was nowhere near Dion Moore. The keeper went down to stop it. He spilt it. Dion Moore quite
rightly went in to try and change for the ball. But he says the keeper, it's difficult to see
from here, but the referee says the keeper actually fouled Dion Moore. Penalties have
not been our strong point this season. Oh, and he's off. He's been sent off.
Keeper's been sent off. Referee just making sure everything's right on the edge of the penalty
area. No one's encroaching. Blows his whistle. Up steps Anthony Papadopoulos. And he scores!
And Maidstone take the lead. That goal coming 11 minutes into the second half. It's Maidstone
United 1-0 Bath City. Great finish. Bottom left. Keeper's not going to do much about that one.
And 1-0 Maidstone. Finally, we have scored another penalty. I think that might be,
what, two penalties out of seven this season. But this is the one that matters. It's got us,
at the moment, three points. On the edge of the area. Plays it out to court.
Out to Papadopoulos on the right edge. Looking for options. Plays it infield. That's a shot!
Oh, I think that came off the post, didn't it? No, it came off the keeper. That's a great save.
But Dion Moore is going to chase this down. The keeper's off his line. Dion Moore goes around and
takes a shot. The angle was too tight in the end and it came off the post. Ball forward from him.
Foul is there. Nods it forward. Picked up by Papadopoulos. Ball over the top. Chance now for
Riley Court. Riley Court's on goal here. He's taken a bit wide. Takes a shot! And he scores!
Riley Court scores for Maidstone United. Great strike from the former academy student here.
Riley Court makes it 2-0 to Maidstone. Wow. And if you've been following Maidstone for a while,
that's an emotional one because Riley Court has got his first. In it comes to the back post.
Punched away by Wiles Richards who gathers at the second attempt. And in the end,
the referee blows a whistle. It's finished here. Maidstone United 2-0 Bar City.
