Soccer, or football, may not be America's biggest sport, but the talent the country
has produced is seriously underrated. The U.S. men's team has regularly reached World Cup
knockout stages since 1990, while the women's team has dominated the global game with four
World Cup titles. Many of America's best players have also tested themselves in Europe and left
a real mark. So today, let's count down the 10 greatest American soccer players of all time.
Number 10. Brian McBride Starting at number 10,
we have Brian McBride, one of the true pioneers of American soccer. McBride was one of the original
faces of Major League Soccer and later became a cult hero at Fulham, scoring 41 goals and
captaining the club. Internationally, he scored 30 goals for the United States and played a key
role in the 2002 Gold Cup triumph. His physical style and leadership helped American strikers
earn respect in Europe. Number 9. Tim Howard
At number 9, it's one of the most reliable goalkeepers the U.S. has ever produced,
Tim Howard. After joining Manchester United, Howard went on to build his legacy at Everton,
where he spent nearly a decade as first choice. He even scored a famous Premier League goal,
making him one of very few goalkeepers to do so. Howard also delivered legendary performances for
the USMNT on the biggest international stages. Number 8. Alexi Lalas
Coming in at number 8 is one of the most recognizable figures in American soccer history,

even higher on this list. Number 5. Demarcus Beasley
Breaking into the top 5, we have Demarcus Beasley. Over a 20-year career, Beasley played
in multiple top leagues and won titles with PSV Eindhoven and Rangers. He earned 126 international
