Betting on the Super Bowl? Here's what you need to know
#superbowl #sportsbetting #fyp
Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend.
For many people, it's not just about the game or the parties,
also a huge day for betting.
Yeah, a lot of it.
Arne Ahan is here with advice if you
plan on putting down a wager on the big game.
And you can bet on just about everything.
You really can.
I mean, wagering on the Super Bowl can be pretty fun.
Americans are expected to bet an estimated $1.76 billion
on Super Bowl Sunday.
That is up from last year.
And you want to make sure if you're betting,
Sports bars aren't the only places
prepping for Super Bowl 59.
Sportsbooks will be hopping too.
This is why we're here.
This is our day.
Close to 1,000 props are available.
Four betting windows, 11 kiosks.
We have the staff ready to assist.
The sportsbook manager at AC's Ocean Casino Resort
says you need to make sure you bet
on a legal and regulated venue or platform.
An easy way to do that is to go in person
where staff can help you.
You know, our staff is here to ensure that we break down
the betting market.
The betting venue can be overwhelming for some
who are making their first wager.
So whether in person or online, pause before betting.
Beware of spoofed websites and fake apps,
as well as bogus bonus offers and last minute pop-up
promotions.
Hey, bet right now, and you're guaranteed to make this money.
Or I have the best odds than any other sporting book.
So when that urgency is there, I think
that's a huge red flag to look out for.
Those scam offers often lead to malicious links,
all designed to steal your money and personal information.
So stick with trusted platforms from official app stores
and verified operators.
Also, don't private message.
Scammers often shift conversations
to text or messaging apps to avoid being detected.
And if you realize you're involved in a scam,
don't do anything else.
Take screenshots of everything and report it
to either the FBI, your local attorney general,
or the Better Business Bureau, also the FTC.
Those are the right steps to take.
And one more tip from Bob DeLuise at Ocean Casino.
He says, just because it's the Super Bowl,
don't increase your bet size.
By the way, some of his favorite props
are the coin toss and the octopus.
That's when a single player scores a touchdown,
then a two-point conversion on the same drive.
DeLuise also liked the Gatorade.
Orange, by the way, is the current favorite, guys.
Interesting.
I'm like a fan of the old-fashioned,
the old squares where you kind of randomly pick a box.
Like bingo?
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good tip.
Good luck.
Awesome, no scamming there, Lydia.
Thanks so much.
