Thursday Night in Berlin: What Are your Plans? | Easy German 629

Lisa what do you have planned for today Tonight is my free evening I'm actually going to do nothing for once That sounds like a great evening It's a beautiful Thursday afternoon in Berlin We're hosting the participants of the Easy German Summer School And now we're heading out onto the street to ask people What are you doing tonight Let's go What are you doing tonight and do you have any plans for tonight I'm heading home right now and then I'll clean up my apartment That's my plan I'm heading home too and I don't have anything else planned I might cook something with my parents or just hang out What are they doing tonight I'm sitting at the computer all day I'm attending a training session and it runs from 7 PM to 11 PM I'm putting the children to bed What time At 7 PM 8 PM or 9 PM—whichever works best Let's just see how it goes it's not set in stone yet And then does the child sleep or not It sleeps then Optimistically What are they doing tonight Do they have any specific plans No not yet I'm visiting my aunt here and we're cooking something together And chatting a lot having a cozy evening We're here with a class And we're going to a disco with the class And there shopping He wants to cook for me I assume we'll do this together I'm really looking forward to it I don't have any plans tonight I've been pretty worn out from being on the go the past few evenings So anymore it just varies Most of the time I hang out with friends But sometimes I just stay home have dinner with my family and watch a movie or an episode in the evening I might meet up with my friends Maybe we'll go to a bar Then again I might have university Or perhaps I'll have to work I think as a student I have a pretty flexible Thursday What does a typical Thursday evening look like for you Thursday evening so often I'm just like today at work But tonight for example afterwards Let's head to Kreuzberg for a street food tour There's nothing typical about my life It doesn't allow for that kind of routine That doesn’t allow for my job either But my favorite Thursday evening is staying home with my dog and my husband and watching a good movie on the couch I usually get home in the afternoon But later in the afternoon I take a nap first Then I have to work And the work goes on like that until 7 p m Maybe I’ll do some exercise then After that I’ll naturally take a shower Then I’ll prepare something to eat Then I'll watch something on Netflix or read a bit And then I'll go to bed What does a typical Thursday evening look like for you Since I'm a music producer I'm usually in the music studio We're working on new songs That's why I work a lot on music What kind of music do you make House music Super cool And do you have your own studio Exactly I'm just around the corner There's no typical Thursday It's extended It's always very hectic in Cologne where we' re from Everything runs late The four-day workweek has made things feel a bit more condensed It's already the start of the weekend Friday is already booked again with culture or other things That's typical Thursday evening First I come home from school I'm a bit tired But then I still have to go to the piano short walk Then I'll call it a day Then I'll work a bit on the computer Time flies by quickly Thursday evening because I don't work here in Berlin at all I always fly to Stuttgart on Tuesday and work for nightlife myself Just cozying up with my husband is enough Maybe watch a movie we pick out beforehand Open a bottle of wine Unfortunately also eat a few chips Sit on the armchair sofa That’s already a cozy evening Just chilling a bit and unwinding from everyday life What does a perfect evening look like to you Also definitely relax It really depends on how I'm feeling Tomorrow we're going to a wedding reception a party I'm looking forward to it That could be a perfect evening I think Maybe play a bit of computer games or watch a movie Then enjoy something delicious to eat And then not go to bed too late so I'm not tired the next day but still have time in the evening What does a perfect evening look like to you A perfect evening might be a nice meal shared together Since we don't eat warm meals at noon but cook in the evening instead somehow there's a sports program or occasionally culture Or just a cozy day with some TV—necessary sometimes A perfect evening—I’m probably hanging out on my balcony at home with friends And we chat listen to some music and have a nice relaxed time What does a perfect evening look like for you A perfect evening I think I'm coming from sports My bed is freshly made I just got out of the shower And I curled up in bed and discovered a new series Best with ten seasons Beautiful picture Very beautiful picture I think my perfect evening would be spending time with friends Let's grab something to eat somewhere then hit a bar After that relax and head home to our newly moved-in bed Also if he's not typically perfect but extraordinary Then we'd go out to eat Somewhere we've never been before Where we've always wanted to go Then we'd go dancing Maybe tango in Montbijou Park Or Foho on Prenzlauer Allee And then we'd stroll home on a warm summer evening That would be a perfect extraordinary evening for me That's great Are there specific days of the week when you always do something particular Yes for example every Sunday I teach my class Since I teach Berlin's history in English too And every Sunday we have a class And I've been doing this for five years That was a Covid idea And we're still doing it every Sunday That's exciting Are there any days of the week when you always do something special on that day For instance Tuesday at the sports club or something like that Yes Monday sports and Wednesday sports And maybe also walking on Saturdays We really enjoy doing that What is walking Ah walking instead of jogging—basically slow jogging I thought that was how it was done in Kölsch No that's walking I take long walks every day as a balance to my work and even longer ones on weekends— just walking for the sake of it I always go to physiotherapy on Wednesdays because I don’t experience back pain afterward Yes those are firm appointments So getting up every day No that's already difficult enough Yes already difficult enough Above all I always try to do sports on Saturdays and Sundays—there's always a rule about that You do need to do a little something for yourself now and then And always do about ten minutes of exercise before breakfast then have breakfast afterward That's just one of my rules Wednesday is usually my yoga night Tuesday is my basketball night Yes exactly like that There are clubs where we have regular evening meetings But having a child probably makes it difficult sometimes to make plans Yes but there are also things that are planned in some way at grandparents watch the kids or other childcare options we happen to use— this is already quite regular With children the weeks become more regular There are many more regular things there Are there days of the week when you do something special in the evenings Almost every evening I don't have that right now I don't have school as I mentioned That means I don't have that routine And it's always very different what I do each week Exactly right now you're essentially working out the routines Yes exactly There isn't a single day when I do the same thing every time Each day is different But every Monday I give therapy sessions I dance and exercise with the children on Wednesdays On the other days I study And what about therapy sessions How does that work I play with the children That's what I do—psychomotorics Motology is the study And I play with the children a lot That's great I have a very irregular daily routine That's why sports are very important to me I go to the gym every day And I always have different activities that I do But every Friday for example I go to Kundalini Yoga Every Monday I do a stretching session like this My physical movement is what repeats itself every single day And what's also very important to me I'm truly impressed You're doing everything I've been planning for 40
