Jackie Chan: The Puppy Interview

I love those! My leg upside down. And the cameraman. Hi, I'm Jackie Chan. Today I'm with BuzzFeed. Play with all the puppies. So exciting, I cannot wait. Are they biting? It's okay, I can grab them. I have 10 dogs. Believe it or not, I will see your mouth. I have two pandas. Look at your mouth, see? What are your pandas' names? When I was doing Shanghai Noon, my friend had a dog. It's called Jonesy. He's been with me all the time, making a movie. When he passed away, then when I go to Hong Kong, somebody gave me a dog. Then I named after Jonesy. Every time he sleeps, just like that. The strange thing is, he always faces high under the sofa or under my knee. He just always tries to hide. Whatever I do when I'm training, he just like this, watching me. When I eat, he's just right behind me. Sometimes I just beat him. I think he's used to it. That's him getting bigger. Four, three? Three years old. That's Jonesy. That's his sister. That's his two brothers. And that's now huge. Yeah, huge. One, two. Boom! Good catch. So the story, when I was doing Cloudy Kid 1 promotion in London, I went to build a bear. Actually, my sister wanted to go to build a bear. She wanted to buy a bear. Then suddenly I see two pandas. I said, ah, I have two pandas. Why don't I build my own bear? Then the story begins. That's my two pandas. Now it's big. That's my two pandas. Different outfits. Will Smith. James Cameron. Clinton. Stallone. Paley. These two pandas go wherever I go. Superbowl. You can catch? Bring the puppies. Why so quiet? Used to be. Oh. Oh my god. I love those. Look, oh yeah. Come here. Don't pee. For me, easy. One, two, three, four, five. Probably they smell the dog. You, stay. When I'm six and a half, becoming a child actor. It's like an angel. We have to sing. And believe it or not, this year I'm in the film industry. 64 years. Come, go in. Make sure you not pee. Thief. That's what my father said, said that. Because when I'm young, when we go to somewhere else. Can we go up to see something? Okay. Boom, boom, boom. I'm ready to go up. Then I can jump off the car. I can climb, do so many things. Then my father said, you'll be a very good thief. Oh, when I was young, I watched first Cloudy Kid. Because as martial artists, we like all kind of action films. Cloudy Kid, you know, I got to watch it. 40 some years later, then Will Smith called me. Then he said, can you play the mentor of Jaden? I said, oh, okay. Then somehow we have a part one, part two. New Karate One, New Karate Two. The idea makes me to do that movie again. Just like two branch. One tree, yeah. That's a circle, don't go away. Hard to say which one. This is my job. We think about a stunt. We create a stunt. We have to do the stunt. It's the old day. We don't have money. We don't have technology. We don't have a wire. Save money, save time, not save life. Life, it doesn't matter. Then when we're doing a stunt, just do it. No rehearsal. When you jump off the building, jump off the car, you just one time. We don't have the money to do the second time. It makes me becoming a good stunt guy. Like Rumble in the Bronx. I jumped from the hovercraft. I broke my ankle. I go to the hospital in the morning. Afternoon, go back to work with the wheelchair. The knees in wheelchairs, half standing up just like. Then what can we do? Change the script. We buy a sport car. We crash the sport car with the hovercraft. We change the whole action. I'm proud of myself and that time I can do it. P, I'm glad. What? We missed one. Where's another one? Oh, here. He finished P? Oh, which one P? Which one haven't P yet? Many, many, many things. Important props like knife, guns, chair, table. The audience, they can remember. I will take it. Lay down, lay down. Can we have a photo? I ready. I say what? Thank you. They run away. Sometime in England, I walk on the street. There's a car stopped in front of the red line. Young guy jump off the car. They want to take a photo. I say, no, no, no. I said, you have to drive. There's so many car behind you. No, you're not going to photo. I'm not going to drive. Behind the car, somehow they see me. Every car get off. All the car get off and they run. I have to one by one take photo. I said, let's go, go, go, go, go, go. The funny thing is sometime I walk in front. I just walking. I hear behind. I believe that's Jackie Chan. I said, what? How do you know me? Sometime makes me very happy. I don't know. You know what? First one, little money, little time. We shoot like, go, go, go, go, go. The second one, a lot of money, a lot of time. Third one, too much money, too much time. Too much money is no good. So silly. One day, I was in my house. Because the raining, I checked the second floor balcony. I see the closet. I already forget what's inside. On the top, there was like a one, two, three, four. I use a chair. Okay, that's a chair. The wheel, you can move the wheel. I push, I standing up. Open it, nothing, empty. And I open the second one. And open the third one. I try to open the fourth one. Not long enough. I try to move the chair. And I slide the chair, my whole body. Boom. As soon as I see I fall, I turn around. I turn around, bam. I said, what happened? I'm so stupid. Then after that, I close the door. I see the ladder behind the door. Big stunt never hurt. Always a small stunt. Like when I jump to the hovercraft. When they say rolling, I, oh, just jump. Boom. My leg upside down. This leg. And the cameraman, Jackie, you okay? I said, no. Did you got the shot? No, your leg. Did you got the shot? Yes, okay. Send me to the hospital. Too many umbrella, stand, book. I catch a barbie. The puppies in the movie. Things you drop, the puppy go out. I catch a barbie. I use everything. Horse, lion, tiger, bear. Stallone, Schwarzenegger. They don't have to fight. They stand beside me. Everybody go away. Somersault. Slow song. My own song, very popular. In Asia, I think every Chinese know how to sing. English song. I like this kind of song. Because the song helps me to learn English. Who's your favorite artist? Winnie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Winnie Houston. The song I like. I have a very good voice. I really want to have a superpower. If I have superpower, I can save the world. I can catch all the missiles. Tsunami, earthquake. Sometimes when I see the natural disaster going on, I just, I try to help, but I just don't know how. Just watching the TV, I see the people just so sad. Why? We should care about the earth now. I adopt you. You're the first one to come. Everybody, I said, Jackie, let's do the Dragon Master again. Of course, I want to, but I'm not young anymore. Before, I was a student like Jayden. But now, I'm like a master now. People get old. Everybody come to my house. They will ask, can we have a green bean soup? My mom always cook me a green bean soup. Now, all my students, they have to learn how to cook green bean soup. Every movie, I got to have a body check. The doctor come out. Jackie, what are you eating? I said, what? I eat everything. But every day, what are you eating? I said, green bean soup. No wonder. Your blood type, your cholesterol, tell me. So, continue eat this. Listen to me. Green bean soup and red bean soup. Easy. Water, green bean, little sugar. Done. They all sleep. I want to sleep too. Play with my dog. Clean my office. Call the writer. Come to my office meeting. Talk about idea, next project. Find some movie to see. Like today. I said, for me, it's like holiday. Small trick. Look. One, two. Don't put on slow motion. Okay. Now the corn. Yeah. Okay. Go. Yeah. Don't put the slow motion. Make some really, really, really good movie. Gone with the Wind. Like, solve the music. You know, the movie, forever, forever. I don't know my movie, forever or not. But today, you don't know. One day, you will know. But not now. I still looking for some good script. Sometimes the dream never come true. But you got a dream. You got a dream, then you go for the direction. Do it. Especially these couple years, we really need peace. The whole earth is like a village. Every country is my country. We should unite together to help people. The world needs peace. I hope everybody help everybody. Yeah.
