Tereza Valentova vs Karolina Muchova 2026 Doha Round 2 WTA Match Highlights

Nicely put away on the wrong footing, forehand volley from Mukhova. May have been going wide actually. Two break points. Nicely finished off. Got lucky with the net cord initially, but mistimed again on the forehand from Valentova. Mukhova wasting very little time to race away with the opening set. She takes it by six games to one. Just no letter from Mukhova. Could pose a real bigger threat for her. A moment of magic, instinctive prowess from Karolina Mukhova. Oh, what a moment that could be. That might just be the catalyst. Oh, that is beautifully finished off. That was such a difficult shot to play as well. This time she can't find the pickup that she required. Yeah, coming in for the kill this time. Well, the core coverage by Mukhova today has been nothing short of outstanding. Yeah, nicely played again. Had a good look at what was going on in front of her there. Well, that is a real shame for it to end in such a manner. A double fault from Valentova, no doubt gratefully received by Mukhova who really did catch the eye in that one. A really impressive performance and a nice exchange at the end between the pair. Clearly a lot of admiration between the two of them. And for Mukhova, well, in all honesty, that is really, really impressive. I would venture a statement win as well, albeit against a qualifier, but against one of the rising stars of the game. A teenager who finds herself in the top 50. In the first set, Mukhova was way too strong. The second set was more of an ordeal. But that is a good, good win for the number 14 seed. She takes it 6-1, 6-4.
