locally What's the date of that event It's April 18th Zhu Jun serving as political commissar in the news report features multiple photos of him personally That same December 13th Zhu Jun was quietly promoted to Air Force Brigadier General then just months earlier in April he was still in Yunnan and suddenly before anyone could react it was already September His next report became January 22 2020 when Zhu Jun attended the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region event in his capacity as political commissar of the Air Force Urumqi base The report was published by Xinjiang Production and Construction Garrison which has a political commissar in charge is a political-military-level unit directly subordinate to the Army Headquarters just like the Xinjiang and Tibet Military Regions and functions as Jinping's family endured the storms of the Cultural Revolution an 18-year-old Zhang Youxia had already joined the military and was directly stationed far from the epicenter of Beijing's political turmoil The 14th Army's garrison was located in Yunnan afterward Zhang Youxia participated in combat operations against Vietnam within the 14th Army earning repeated military honors Following the conclusion of the Old Mountain Campaign In 1990 Zhang Youxia was promoted to commander of the 40th Division the elite unit of the 14th Army which delivered outstanding performance during the Laoshan Campaign a role he maintained until 1994 He was transferred to the Military Department of the 13th Army Group in Sichuan to serve as deputy commander From that point on excluding time spent on combat operations and studies and calculating strictly by official establishment Zhang Youxia has been deeply rooted in Yunnan from 1968 to 1994 cultivating connections for a full 26 years and has consistently served within the 14th Army The core combat unit has always been on the front lines not just during the conflict with Vietnam but continuously throughout earning deep respect from fellow soldiers and recognition from higher command—truly a unit that has seen real combat Those with military achievements and in 1985 the Kunming Military Region was merged into the Chengdu Military Region so by 1994 even when Zhang Youxia was transferred The Thirteenth Army Group in Sichuan like the forces in Yunnan falls under the command of the Chengdu Military Region and the Thirteenth Army Group is now known as the current 77th Army Group The CCP's de facto elite force it has a higher operational deployment rate in combat than the current 82nd Group Army surpassing the 38th Army both before 1949 and after 2000 Participating in combat missions within the People's Liberation Army It is also the People's Liberation Army unit most skilled in mountainous high-altitude and tropical jungle warfare and its training regimen differs significantly from all other units placing strong emphasis on realistic combat scenarios The training approach closely mirrors that of the U S military—emphasizing rapid mobilization and long- range deployment—and once defeated the 38th Army in an internal exercise earning it a formidable reputation He began serving as deputy commander of the 13th Army in 1994 and six years later was promoted to commander meaning that in the highly decorated 13th Army He served another 11 years as a military leader which explains why he later rose rapidly through the ranks was transferred to Beijing in 2005 and then began his ascent in 2007 After serving five years as commander of the Shen Yun Military Region he became a regional military governor however when viewed in terms of overall service duration Zhang Youxia spent 26 years in Yunnan and 11 years in Sichuan Spent a total of 37 years in Southwest China — that's most of a lifetime — and later only five years in the Shen Yun Military Region so it must have been Yunnan Zhu Jun the former political commissar of the Beijing Military District was even more familiar to Zhang Youxia having served for a long time in Yunnan making their relationship particularly close Instead he has little connection with Xi Jinping whereas Zhang Youxia stationed in the Chengdu Military Region regularly participates in frequent joint land-air logistics exercises If Zhu Jun had been serving in Yunnan before 2005 he would likely have had a connection with Zhang Youxia within the command hierarchy or military deployment structure which is even more significant If Zhu Jun came from a powerful family they might have had deeper unknown connections as for Zhang Youxia he had previously been part of the Chengdu Military such responsibilities it's highly likely that CCP elites generally resort to concealing their true origins and manipulating resumes to protect their descendants' privacy and ensure their safety Right now some figures in the CCP leadership are individuals who are actually descendants of the elite and powerful yet their resumes never mention this making you assume they're just ordinary people when in reality they're anything but And even more so the descendants of these powerful families There are public ones and there are confidential ones these confidential tasks are handled exceptionally well so you have no idea who's who The position of Political Commissar of the Beijing Military District is highly sensitive so the appointee must undergo rigorous political review Tracing back three generations reveals nothing but minor backgrounds—this couldn't possibly be decided so casually Pulling up an obscure young man from as far away as Ürümqi simply based on ability and trust without regard to origin On a position of such importance the likelihood of this possibility is extremely low— practically zero The CCP places great emphasis on lineage so given how secretive Zhu Jun' s resume is his background must be exceptionally prominent Actually regarding Zhu Jun people have long speculated whether he might be a descendant of the Zhu Rongji family since Zhu Rongji is from Changsha Hunan—but to be honest Looking at his appearance he doesn't resemble Zhu Rongji at all and even his publicly known son Zhu Yunlai bears little facial similarity—rather he strongly resembles someone else entirely The Zhu family elite within the CCP such as Zhu De himself even bear a certain resemblance to Zhu De's grandson former deputy dean of the Air Force Command College Zhu Heping Both individuals were still within the Air Force system so if Zhu Jun is indeed a descendant of the elite he would most likely be a descendant of Zhu De the former commander-in-chief of the CCP's Political Commissar of the Imperial Guard makes perfect sense Why is this Zhu Jun said to be from Xiangtan Hunan Isn't Zhu De from Sichuan First of all Zhu Jun couldn't possibly be Zhu De's son let alone a grandson—too young for that And Zhu De was born in 1886 during the Guangxu era of the Qing dynasty from 1905 to 1929 he successively married six wives Only the sixth wife Kang Keqing walked with him to the end of life The fifth wife Wu Ruolan was from Leiyang Hunan while the others had no Hunan origins— but that doesn't matter Since Zhu Jun was born in 1977 Zhu De's publicly known grandson Zhu Heping was born in 1951 Twenty years older than Zhu Jun so Zhu Jun is more likely to be the fourth-generation descendant of Zhu De— belonging to the generation of great-grandchildren During this process Their extended family reaches as far as Xiangtan Hunan— something the outside world wouldn't know And Xiangtan is Mao Zedong's hometown Zhu Jun was born during the Cultural Jinping in the past so Zhu is more aligned with Zheng Yaoxia's faction So why is he still allowed to remain near Xi today sitting right beside him in meetings There are many reasons but first if he
