Good morning, welcome to your Tuesday.
I'm meteorologist Cody Matts with a look at that forecast.
A pretty soggy day on Monday.
We're going to lose that gradually as we head through the day Tuesday.
Waking up to some lingering showers will dry up the atmosphere slowly.
This area low pressure just kind of fades off to the north and east,
but it does leave a frontal boundary nearby
and so that will leave a contrast in temperature from southeast
to northwest across the state as we get into the next couple of days.
It's also going to bring some more moisture with it.
Dew points will actually be on the rise
as we head through the rest of Tuesday.
Now, not oppressive by any stretch
and certainly not summer-style humidity,
but a noticeable change with dew points returning to the 50s
and then upper 50s and even some low 60s
as we get into the day on Wednesday.
That is closer to summer-style humidity.
Now, a cold front will swing into that,
could pop some late-day and evening rumbles,
and then that scoots off to the south and east.
We bring in drier air, but just kind
of a feels change as we get into the day,
especially on Wednesday.
So here's a look at futurecast.
There goes the bulk of the rain off to the north and east.
We'll hang on to some scattered sprinkles as we head
to the late morning hours into the lunch hour,
more across northern Minnesota before drying things up through
the afternoon, maybe poking a little sun into southwestern Minnesota.
Cloudy conditions, generally speaking, for most of us.
Those clouds will linger as we head through Tuesday night
and Wednesday. Southerly flow, though, continues.
That will lead to the increase in moisture levels,
so dew points on the rise, temperatures on the rise,
kind of a warm and muggy day, especially for late October on Wednesday.
And the cold front swings into that, pops and scatters.
Storms right along the frontal boundary up and down the 35 corridor
heading eastward as that scoots east Wednesday evening, Wednesday night
and finally kicking out the cloud cover as we get into Thursday.
It looks like a pretty sunny day overall as we settle,
generally speaking, to temperatures in those lower 60s
and you may not budge much this upcoming weekend into early next week.
For your Tuesday, though, we're on the rise in terms of temperatures.
Now, we'll get some 60s into southeastern Minnesota.
I think we'll be shy of that in the metro,
but upper 50s, pretty common numbers, above average.
Some 40s in northern Minnesota with the drips lingering
a bit longer into Tuesday afternoon.
We should dry those up in the metro by the lunch hour.
The rest of Tuesday quiet.
We'll lose a bit of cloud cover,
but some of that lingering as we head through Tuesday night.
But notice temperatures going nowhere.
52 for an overnight low in the metro,
and that will kickstart our upper 60s and low 70s.
For parts essential in southeastern Minnesota as we head
into Wednesday 50s across the north with those late day storm chances.
Here's that seven day forecast. Bright conditions return
to Thursday hovering in those lower 60s and we'll pretty much rinse
and repeat temperatures through this weekend.
Scattered little drips possible Friday into Halloween. Nothing big
but certainly lingering as we head through this upcoming weekend.
