안녕하세요, 여러분! Hello, everyone!
Hello, everyone!
Welcome back to my channel.
And yeah, I've changed my hair.
How do I look?
Oh, wait.
So anyway, today I'm going to talk about how to speak Korean better
because I want to help you guys speak Korean better.
So I've seen a lot of Korean learners have trouble with, you know,
learning Korean or reading Korean
because Korean language is really confusing, right?
I know that.
So I thought it would be better if I let you know some tips for learning Korean.
Okay, so yeah.
So let's get started.
Let's learn Korean.
Oh, I'm so good at Korean.
I'm so genius.
The first thing that I want to tell you is
relying on romanization.
And please don't do that.
Just please don't rely on romanization too much, okay?
You know, because it's not Korean alphabet, it's actually English.
And, you know, there is a Korean alphabet, 한글, called 한글.
You need to learn how to pronounce 한글 first.
And if you do that, it'll be more easier when you read whatever new words in Korean.
Okay?
I'm not trying to say like,
Oh, you should learn Korean.
Korean is the best language in the world.
But I'm saying like Korean alphabet was actually invented just for writing down Korean language.
So if you learn it, that'll be really really helpful.
And it's a very scientific and it's very reasonable system.
So yeah, it'll be really helpful for you to understand Korean.
Okay?
So you should learn that.
So instead of saying 안녕하세요 or 사랑해요,
you should say 안녕하세요, 사랑해요.
Okay?
The vowel is 여.
So 안녕, 안녕하세요.
And not 사랑, but 랑.
Okay?
사랑해요.
안녕하세요.
사랑해요.
I know the romanization helps a lot.
Especially if you have no idea about how to read 한글.
But if you rely on it too much, your pronunciation will be really weird.
So please try to read 한글.
Okay?
And number two is about your intonation.
And here's my tip.
Try to imagine you are a robot.
안녕하세요. 반갑습니다.
I'm kind of exaggerating.
Sorry.
But you know, thinking like this will actually improve your Korean.
I guarantee.
So I think Korean people will think that your Korean sounds perfect.
If you say almost without no intonation.
So instead of saying like 안녕하세요, 감사합니다.
한국어 공부 3년 동안 하고 있고 정말 재미있어요.
But you should say like 안녕하세요.
저는 한국어 공부를 3년 동안 하고 있어요.
한국어가 정말 좋아요.
Okay?
You know, actually I was really shocked when I first saw American dramas.
Because there were more intonations than I expected.
So that means Korean language will sound...
It has no intonation compared to English.
So yeah.
Yeah, of course there are a lot of intonations in dialects in Korean, I think.
Like 오데가노 or 가가가가.
Sorry, I'm not good at dialects.
Anyway, there are still intonations in dialects or whatever.
But you know, if you imagine that you are a robot, that will be really helpful.
And number 3 is using filler words.
So filler words mean words that fill the space, right?
For example, like 음, 흠, or like in English, right?
So they have no meaning.
I mean...
So they have no meaning, but if you use them, you look like more native speakers, right?
There are some filler words in Korean, too.
So for example, there are 그 and 저.
And they mean 음 or 흠 in English.
So if you need some time to think something in Korean, just use 그 or 저, okay?
So for example,
And what about this?
I actually use them a lot.
그래서 means and, and 그래가지고 is like and so.
So they are like transition words.
So anyway, if you put them at the end of the sentence and say the next sentence that you want to talk about,
you'll look like more native speakers.
And the last one is about how to pretend to understand Korean.
So actually, it is the best if you understand everything,
but you know, we are human and we always make mistakes, so yeah.
So yeah, you need how to deal with it.
So remember three things, okay?
네, 무대도 너무 멋있고 특히 슈가가 진짜 너무 멋있더라고요.
아, 그렇구나.
제가 방탄소년단을 너무 좋아해가지고 한 번 보는 게 꿈이었는데 드디어 꿈이 이뤄진 것 같아요.
아, 진짜요?
And it would be better if you repeat the subject.
특히 그 노래도 진짜 좋더라고요.
노래요?
네, 노래요, 노래.
대박!
Alright, so that's it for today.
