You might be wondering, how is the Bauer XR inline skate for roller hockey? Well,
we're not going to f***ing worry about that today. We're going to do other s*** in them.
Who am I and why am I doing this? I'm Joey McGarry. I've been skating for 30 years. I've
been skating on lots of different kinds of rollerblades, inline skates, doing different
tricks, doing different moves. These were super cheap in Canada, so I figured I would try them
and do a bunch of moves.
So these have something called the Flex-Lite chassis, and I guess it's supposed to flex
with your carves and turns, but it flexes so bad that it almost feels like it's going to pull off
the boot. This is one of the least supportive skates I've ever used in my life. This tongue
is basically made out of the same material as my sweatshirt. All of this is super soft.
This is one of the worst skates I've ever skated. It looks like it's techie and cool,
but it's mostly just this frame technology on a very low quality boot.
These wheels are okay so far. We'll keep riding. I am a 10.5, 10.10.5 in shoes.
These are a 9, and I probably could have got an 8. These are also the widest skates
I've ever skated. There's a lot of slop, to the point that I might be able to put
an intuition liner inside of these skates. I am squeezing some moves out that seem kind of fun,
but I think it's mostly just the chassis that is the good part of this skate,
and everything else is bad. They look cool though. This skate is like 80% marketing and 20%
technology, so I suggest sizing one and a half to two sizes down from your skate size.
One thing, you can definitely embrace your inner Mitchell Goosen in this skate as a 40, 50,
60 year old man trying to relive your glory days. Another thing, when people see you skating these
skates, in their head they'll tell themselves, hey that's not a guy rollerblading, that's a
hockey player. There's a big difference. One thing that's really impressive about this skate so far
is I have no idea how this frame hasn't just broken off. Actually, looking at it right now,
I don't know if it's the boot that's bent or the frame, but I'm torquing on this thing,
and it feels like the boot's just gonna break right off the frame, but it hasn't yet. So it does
allow for some interesting movements and carves. This technology would be really good on a super
supportive boot. These are some of the sloppiest, weirdest skates I've ever skated in my life.
The Bauer XR N-Line skate. Really don't like it. Had fun anyway. Keep skating or something.
