Second stop! SuZhou is only 30 minutes via high-speed train from Shanghai, and the vibe is completely different. It is much more peaceful and lowkey here. My first Hanfu photoshoot experience was so fun as well! The number of cats in this city is amazing haha.
So this is us on a little drive through the Suzhou streets. There was a little bit of
traffic at the beginning but it's so peaceful and calm and I don't know it's a completely
different vibe to Shanghai and I really just love it so much. I obviously spending time in the city
is where my element is because I'm a city girl. I don't like bugs, I don't like sweat, none of that
but being in a nice countryside vibe place is really really relaxing.
So we are pulling up to our hotel now and it's a hotel that I've picked based off of
traditional Chinese I guess historical buildings and I'll give you a quick tour of the room.
There's nothing really too special. It is just a hotel room but the outside view of the window
is really really pretty and I just love this courtyard vibe even though it is a cafe opposite
us. So this is a quick tour of the bathroom. There's just normal bathroom things and I don't
know why the lighting is just really yellow. I think I just haven't sorted out the color grading
on this very well until later cities.
So after just settling into the hotel a little bit we decided that we wanted to go
to a garden or park. So something about Suzhou that you need to know well as far as I know
is that it is more of a town-like city where it's a bit more nature-y and there's a lot of parks,
a lot of gardens, a lot of cats. There's so many cats. So you can see in a lot of our clips
that it's just older buildings, nature, kind of like historical buildings. One amazing thing
about China is that most places when you do buy tickets it's just scan a QR code and pay on your
phone. So if you can't read Chinese that's fine as long as your phone has a translating feature
then you're all good to go. And most places do require you to bring your passport just so they
can verify your ID and that makes it really easy to navigate. And so yeah enjoy some of the pretty
views that we see. So we found this really cute pastry shop bakery near the night market that
and oh my gosh look at all of these pastries. I am dead. It is so cute and it smelled so good in
there. I was like telling Josh how I wanted to get one of everything but like that was not possible
so we only got a few things because we had a night market to go to after. But yeah look at this
ah it's so cute. And you can see that right after the bakery we just went into the night market and
walked around and got some food and yeah. That's a whole bun of just bread.
It is pink. I'm gonna go do some laundry now. We're back at the hotel because I have a harmful
photoshoot tomorrow afternoon and there's a free laundry room that's 24 hours here so that'll be
good for all of our Shanghai laundry. And I also happened to get some food on my skirt
which really needs to be washed so yeah I'm going to go do that now and then call it a night. So
see you tomorrow. So our second day there we actually went to Pingjianglu which is a very
very famous street uh historical street in Suzhou and it's got a lot of touristy stuff as well as
traditional things. So we got some food there were some pretty views out the window and we just kind
of relaxed. This is where I realized that this is not the day that I had booked my harmful shoot.
I booked it near Pingjianglu which is why we're here so it's actually the next day so we just
kind of wandered around the whole day and looked at some more trees and nature and then we ended
up going to some gardens and finding more cats which is very important to me.
Give me some. I've got a whole spare one and a little white one. Is that your favourite? Yeah she's very cute.
So I messed up the dates and Hanfu is tomorrow so we are at a garden and it's a couple's garden
I think it's called I don't know it's called Ouyuan in Chinese and this is like a I think
a marriage like banquet suite and it's kind of a little bit creepy though.
So we really didn't want to go out for breakfast or order something in the last day so what we did
was we ended up going to try the hotel breakfast. It was not bad honestly for the price I think it
costed us around 68 RMB per person which is about I'd say 17 dollars a head. That is very good for
a buffet and yeah so this is all the options and we just ate food and headed out after that.
So my face is really shiny right now because I put skincare on. I did a photo shoot today
I did Hanfu photo shoot but mostly I didn't really put any photos or videos
so far into this video because I was just trying to get the shoot done but I will insert some
photos now across the screen. It was a really really fun experience and I would do it again
and with my girly pop friends if I can because girly pops. Anyways so this is my last night in
Suzhou and tomorrow we're going to Hangzhou so yes another Gaotie. Good night everybody!
