I trust the women of Texas Beto for Texas

When I was 17 years old, I went to the emergency room and I was having a miscarriage. I was probably about maybe three to four months. They had to take me in quickly and do the DNC. It is called a spontaneous abortion. Right now in the state of Texas, that is illegal. So if somebody goes in for a miscarriage, they have to hold that waste that can kill you because it's toxic to your body. I know that it has been over 30 years, but now I'm concerned because what if that happens to my daughter, my niece, my neighbor, and they have to hold that fetus for that amount of time. Right now with the laws that we have, they're saying that our lives don't matter either. What is your stance there and what are you going to do to change the triggered law in place right now in the state of Texas? We have a total ban on abortion in the state of Texas with no exception for rape or incest. Republican members of the legislature are proposing that we check your travel documents before you leave the state of Texas if you're a child bearing age or that companies and businesses that want to pay for women to leave the state to make their own private personal health care decisions, that those businesses could be in court facing charges of murder. This is happening, to your point, in a state that leaves much of the developed world in the rate of maternal mortality because it is so hard to get family planning help, to get a cervical cancer screening, to see a provider of any kind in the least insured state in America. For black women, it's three times as deadly in the state of Texas right now. Your question is a great one. So what are we going to do about it? First of all, I want to make sure that you know that I'm running on a platform that includes the ability for every woman in this state to make her own decisions about her own body, her own health care, and her own future. I trust the women of Texas to make the right decision. It's the right thing to do. It's the best way that we can honor your freedom, your independence, our Constitution, all the values that we hold dear as Texans. So winning this election on this platform is incredibly important. And then working together, Democrats and Republicans alike, to make sure that we restore the protection for this right, that's just as important as well. Thanks for asking the question.
