Hey curlfriends, I'm Bianca Renee and you're watching Bianca Renee Today.
And today, we're gonna be trying the Shakira Issima Hair Collection.
This is Shakira's new line that's available exclusively at Ulta Beauty.
And there's a lot of different products to try and today I tried all of them.
So we're gonna see if we're gonna use these products whenever, wherever,
and see if we're meant to be together or never.
So first impression, I love the packaging.
It's so cute.
I love the colors.
I like the shapes.
And the, oh, riquisima?
Where's Instagram?
Can you say these for me out loud?
Welcome to my shower.
I'm gonna show you how riquisima, which has Mexican...
Riquisima.
I'm so glad she said it.
That's amazing.
Hydrating shampoo with Mexican aloe extract.
We have the reset clarifying shampoo.
The Super Bomba triple repair peptide mask.
And to finish it off, we have the all-in restorative leave-in conditioner.
And she has a Curls Don't Lie Curl Perfector cream.
No gel, no mousse.
Yet.
Now going to the Ulta Beauty website, I do see there is a Delicia Reparative Hair Oil,
which I don't have, which I've heard really great things about.
And there's the Isima Iconic Densifying Scalp Serum.
So of course, the two products I don't have might be the ones that I like the most.
But in order to try all the products, this required two separate wash days
so I could try both shampoos and both conditioners.
So let's hop in the shower.
So for shower number one, I use the Reset Clarifying Shampoo.
This has biotech bisabolol and soap berry extract.
I don't know if I'm in love with the smell.
It's giving kind of like an old powdery kind of perfume scent.
Yeah, not my favorite.
But I do like how it lathers.
We'll see how clarifying it is.
This is a silicone-free shampoo that removes buildup,
residue from the hair and scalp while preserving natural moisture.
Then I grab the Suavissima Hydrating Conditioner.
That is supposed to strengthen, add shine, and soften hair
while supporting the cortex structure.
That silicone-free shampoo doesn't really matter
because now the conditioner has amlodimethicone and dimethicone.
So I don't know why we would mix a water-soluble silicone
and a non-water-soluble silicone in the same product.
But I see it happen all the time.
But once again, wasn't in love with the scent and I thought the slip was decent.
So once I got out the shower, I noticed a little bit of buildup still on my scalp.
So I don't know if it was super clarifying as much as I'd want it to be,
especially if I'm going to be using it after using silicone products.
So I love the packaging.
I like how it comes out and I wasn't expecting this to be blue.
One thing to mention that's kind of my pet peeve
is when a brand will brag about something being silicone-free in one product
but then fill up the rest of their collection with silicone.
So why are you saying this is silicone-free like that's something good
if you don't think it's something good to continue throughout the whole line?
I digress.
But now let's go ahead into my second shower.
Rikisima Hydrating Shampoo and the Super Bomba Triple Repair Peptide Mask.
Now this shampoo is supposed to be more hydrating than the clarifying shampoo.
It's supposed to gently cleanse and refresh the scalp and hair
to replenish essential hydration.
I actually really like this shampoo.
I liked how it lathered and I felt like it made my hair really soft after using it.
And now the Super Bomba Triple Repair Peptide Mask.
This is supposed to be the ultimate damage antidote.
It's infused with Nona Peptide 3, Gluconabond, and Fiberseal.
First things first, I just don't like the scent.
It's a very thick mask.
It smells like a mix of an old perfume and butter.
I don't know why it's giving me margarine but I'm just not in love with it.
This reparative mask penetrates the cortex to strengthen and repair hair,
smooth the hair cuticle while promoting scalp health.
So you're supposed to use this post-shampoo,
put it through your hair, and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes,
and then rinse it off.
This is going to be replacing your regular conditioner,
which made me nervous if it was going to weigh down my hair.
And in order for me to leave a mask on for like 15 to 20 minutes,
I have to love the scent.
Then before I rinse it out, I made sure to detangle.
I like to finger detangle when possible,
but I also like to use my sacred brush.
Look at me making a little music collab right now with Beyonce and Shakira.
But this brush really is great.
And I glide through my hair with ease.
Then I rinsed it out.
Now that we are out of the shower, let's use some of the styling products.
So she does have a leave-in conditioner and a curl cream.
This is the All-In Restorative Leave-In Conditioner with Gluconabon.
Biome, I feel like fighting Nemo.
Still not right.
Ceramide.
Let's see.
Leave-In Conditioning Cream that's supposed to deeply strengthen and soften the hair,
add shine and combat frizz.
Apply on damp or dry hair, focusing on mid-lengths to ends.
The ingredients are hiding on the ingredients.
Ammo Dimethicone.
Well, I am on a roll.
All right, we got two types of silicones in here.
Let's try it.
I'm not feeling the scents.
It's a pretty light consistency.
Pretty smooth.
I don't see this being too heavy.
Should work for my fine hair.
I don't want to put too much of this.
I'm actually going to split what I just used on both sides.
And I'm just going to do the ends and the lengths of my hair first,
because that's where the driest hair is.
I'm going to do a little on top for smoothing.
And now for the styler, the curls don't lie.
Hips don't lie.
Curls don't lie.
I like it.
Curl Perfector with Fiber Seal and Linseed and Chia Complex.
A lot of like copywritten technology type of things in here.
Weightless Light Hold Styling Cream that adds shine and definition.
It's supposed to hydrate your curls, section your hair.
La la la la la.
Where are the ingredients?
All right, we have Phenyl Trimethicone, Ammo Dimethicone, and Dimethicone.
Good.
Did we need three?
I like the color and the packaging.
It's a little twist.
Very unique packaging.
I think that's cute.
Not as strong of a scent.
It is really light.
It's just not my favorite.
So I'm going to slide this on.
The fact that it says Light Hold already makes me feel like they're going to need a mousse
or a gel on top of this to give me the look that I want.
We are going to be open minded.
Try something new.
It's very lightweight.
I could see this probably not being enough for any hair that's thicker than mine or coarser hair.
It's giving 3B and below.
I mean, even Shakira's hair is pretty wavy.
So I can see it's working well on her like wavy hair.
So right now my hair feels very lightweight.
I'm not getting too much like clumping.
It just makes me want to put a gel on top.
It feels almost too weightless for me, but I'm going to let it air dry for as long as
possible and I'm going to do a little diffusing and we'll see how it looks.
And I'm back.
This is the final dried result.
So I have thoughts.
The volume is there.
My curls look pretty and my hair is very soft.
There is zero crunch, but I am getting a little more frizz than I desire, which is how you
get the volume.
But like in the back over here, I like a little more definition like this frizz.
I don't know.
It's decent and I know some of y'all like a nice fluffy look.
I just need hold definition and shine like here.
The curls look nice, but I also know that I have very healthy hair.
I take care of my hair and I'm very picky with my ingredients.
So in order for me to be using all of these products that have a lot of silicone, I was
hoping to be blown away by the slip and by the shine and for me not to be super blown
away by that doesn't really make me want to reach for them again.
So here's a little close up of my results, which is kind of what I see a lot on their
page and a lot of brands when they have their like after photo when it's still frizzy.
I'm always like that's the ending goal on the website and the girls that are getting
like super shiny results.
I really feel like they're probably putting a gel on top, which is fine.
But like I wanted to see how it worked just on its own.
And then yes, I probably could pair the cream or the leave-in with the gel and get beautiful
results, but just not on their own.
But let me go ahead to the Ulta website and see how much all these products cost to see
if it's still worth it for you to try.
Oh, this changes things.
Okay, so this mask is 8.5 fluid ounces, which isn't too much and it's $38.
I was gonna say you could still use it because my hair did feel really like moisturized after
so maybe it works despite the scent.
But for $38, I just have so many other masks that I love that are the same price or cheaper.
But I love the scent, the slip and the results.
Oh, oh, how much is everything else?
The shampoo is $32.
The curl cream is $32.
The scalp serum is $42.
The leave-in conditioner is also $32 for a leave-in?
I mean, it was good.
It was lightweight.
I think it would work for my texture and looser.
I don't see that leave-in or the cream working for any texture tighter or hair that's thicker
than mine.
And then the hair oil is $36.
This is tough.
Y'all know I don't like talking bad about hair products.
I just usually just don't review them.
That's how you know I don't like something because I just know how hard it is for people
to make their own brand and I respect it.
But you guys have been asking me just to review all things across the board, even if I don't
like it.
So here we are.
I was going to say out of the entire collection, if I had to choose, I'd probably go with the
hydrating shampoo being the best.
Then I might go with the results of the mask, even though this is probably my least favorite
scent of the collection.
And then the leave-in was light enough to work on my fine hair.
But for the price point and the size, just don't know if it's especially because almost
everything has silicone.
So it'd be different if I could be like, okay, the ingredients check out.
I'm just personally not a fan of the scent.
Everything was kind of just okay.
In conclusion, I love the packaging.
I love the colors.
I love Shakira.
I love her music.
I love that she created a line with curls and waves in mind.
And I don't think I own any products that are Colombian owned.
So that's always fun.
So maybe I can love the oil or the scalp serum.
I want to love something.
I just don't think it's in this first launch just yet.
I would love to see a mousse or a gel that would pair with the leave-in and the cream
to give us some hold.
I don't know what the humidity levels are in Colombia, but I feel like this would only
get fluffier.
And this is day one.
But if you like hold, gel, more shine, silicone-free products, affordable products, this is in
the collection for you.
Or me.
But those are all my concluding thoughts on the Isma collection.
