Join me for a decorate with me as I share small space living in the city, plus a night tour! Thanks for watching and have a fabulous weekend! ~XOXO
Thank you for joining me. It is, gosh what time is it? It is just before nine o'clock Friday morning
and we had this big fog that came in. You might be able to still see it out there on the water but
the sun is just starting to come out and it's gearing up to be a beautiful day. So join me and
let's do some decorating. So yesterday I did a little bit of an Amazon order delivery. It was
like get it next day and so anyway I got these cherry blossoms. 10 out of 10. You guys have to
get them. If you're looking to fill a vase, make a statement, you need to get these. Before we go
into the family room, I'm gonna share a little video clip from yesterday when I was opening the box.
These are beautiful to work with. They are bendable and you can really maneuver them any which way you
want. That is why I give them a 10 out of 10. Seriously, look how beautiful these are. When you
get them in the box, they're all kind of crunched up but when you take them out, they fluff up
beautifully and they just you can bend them and they're so easy to work with. I have purchased
other cherry blossoms. The stems are very hard to work with and you can't get that
you know natural look. Gorge. Absolutely gorgeous. And just so you know, what I did was I incorporated
these with those little green stems you see all day long on Amazon and I will link everything
below for you guys if you want to recreate something like this in one of your vases but
they're both 10 out of 10. All right, let's move into the family room. By the way, I'm going to be
sharing several things that I purchased from Amazon because when we moved here, it was before
Christmas and you know, of course, it's Christmas and I was on a little bit of a budget so I was
doing budget-friendly items to kind of get us started. They work and I love them. All right,
this is the wall we painted black. We brought this electric fireplace from our other house.
I got that on Amazon and and I love it because it blows heat so you don't have to turn the heat on
and heat the whole space if you're going to be hanging in the family room. It really does a
great job of heating the space efficiently. Anyway, we have this gorgeous view out the window
and I thought, you know what, I have to have a mirror there as opposed to artwork because the
mirror is going to reflect the beautiful view outside. So, I have a mirror from Walmart and I'm
going to put it there. It's big. It'll be a statement piece and let's do it. As you can see, I also hung
these really cute wall sconces from Amazon. I'm going to place the mirror right in between them.
So, can you see? It's definitely a focal point on that wall and it's so pretty seeing the reflection
in the mirror. Also, to at night, the lights light up across the way. So pretty. So, I just want to
show you guys these wall sconces. They are so cute. I love them. I love the little detail at
the bottom. I like how they're rounded at the top. Super easy to put together. It has a magnetic
light bulb. It just snaps in and then you get this remote. You can do all different colors. You can
dim these. They're awesome. I should have taken those down last night to charge them because we
did have them on all last weekend for a lengthy amount of time because we were entertaining.
So, they're a little bit, they need to be charged. I'm going to go in with these little
nesting baskets and then this is from Michael's.
Okay, so right in the center, I'm going to go in with these books right here. This one is At Home.
Love the binding. Then, I just got this book yesterday. 10 out of 10. It is a beautiful book.
You can see the sides are all black. Look how many pages are in this book. It's called Cocktails,
The New and Classic and the photography in this book, 10 out of 10. 10 out of 10. A little clip
right here of me when I opened this book yesterday where I'm thumbing through the pictures but
if any of you like to entertain or have a cocktail now and again, you need to put this book in your
cart. But, just so you see, it gives you cocktail recipes. The photography is so pretty. So,
anyway, I was going to put this in the kitchen but I just love how it's black and it's just a
beautiful book. I mean, why not showcase it? I have two of these little garden balls and I have
this little cloche top and I'm just going to set that on top of the books.
So, now on this end, I'm going to go in with my two gold lanterns that I got from Ross.
So, I could leave it simple like that or I could take it a step further
and I have this wreath hanger that I could just sit over the mirror and then I got this new wreath
from Amazon. So, I can try this and see if I like it filled in a bit more or do I like it a little
bit more. I mean, minimalistic if I'm honest. I thought this would be a pretty wreath for spring.
It has little white berries. It has the eucalyptus. It's really pretty. I haven't
even fluffed it yet but this is how it comes right out of the box. Let's give this a try.
Okay, so I think what I need to do is get one of those wreath extenders that I showed you
guys last week. It's like a standard size wreath hanger and then it extends should you need to
and I think it needs to come down maybe right there. Just the bottom of it to about there
and I think it will look better. I don't know. What do you guys think?
Okay, right here we have the TV and I want to put some wall sconces on either side
to make it cozy in the evening hours. So, I got these on Amazon
and then I got these taper candles. They come in a huge set and they have little like plastic
things you can stick them in. I don't use those. I usually put these in taper candle holders or
you know something like this. They just look a little dressier that way.
So, I'm going to put one on either side
and that's how it looks. Down below, this is from Amazon. This was a happy accident.
So, those speakers, my husband made some stands for them and as he was bringing one in
from the loading dock, he had too many things in his hand and he accidentally dropped it and the
wood went and so I had already ordered these little side tables from Amazon. I was expecting
them to be a little taller and so while I was sort of putting the apartment together, I told him,
I said, do you think we could use those stands for the speakers and he's like, I think so. So, I put
the stands into place and then I stood back and I thought, oh we could put the records underneath
and so we did it and we stood back and we loved it. Anyway, if you have some bookshelf speakers
and you want some stands for them, this, I think it looks super cute. So, the stands are really cute
you know and the records fit in there perfectly and you know it does the job and then over here,
of course, we have the record player and then right here, we have more records
and then there and there and more room here. So, now I just want to do a little something there
and a little something there and in this corner, I got this light on Amazon. It's a floor lamp
and it has a dimmer right here and so, you know, I put it in this corner because there is no overhead
lighting and it really does light up this corner and make it feel cozy. So, when I was at Michael's,
I found this tray and I loved the detail right there and so, I am going to place that right there.
Sorry, there's a helicopter going by.
I got these pretty candle holders also from Michael's. So, here's the bigger one. Here's
the smaller one and I'm going to set those in the tray so when we're watching TV or a movie at night,
we have the cozy factor. Okay and then right here, I have a basket adding a little texture
and now, I kind of want to bring the lived-in look. So, I have these book boxes. Of course,
if you have regular books, you know, you could do this but I actually bought these on Amazon
because in small spaces, you have to get creative and these are all like little book boxes and
with all of our, you know, remotes, TV remotes, our record player gadgets, we can put them in here
and so, it looks tidy and put away but we know exactly where they are. So, anyway, I just want
to show you these because if you have a bookshelf, if you just like the colors and you want to do
something similar in your house, you can but anyway, these two books came together.
Wait a minute. No, they didn't. Wait. I think they came like this. This one is
Between the Story Then, Beneath and the Surface Now and it looks like almost like a little bit
botanical on the outside with leaves and this one is Modern Simple Living.
Anyway, they look like that and then, these came together. I believe
Natural Spaces and Botanical. Natural Spaces and Botanical.
So, I'm going to do this. I'm going to break it up
like this and I'm going to lean them in the basket and then, right here in the corner,
I have this basket with two little faux fur blankets and we'll take those out at night
if it's cold and we're movie watching. Okay. So, now, I brought in a little olive tree
and a chair is going to go in front of it. I just love lighting up spaces. So, I got these on Amazon
and let me show you. It comes with the bulbs. So, it looks like a little can light.
It has a little clicker and you just plug it in and this will allow me to light up that tree at
night and have a cozy corner just like over there. So, see over here, we have the light.
We have these lights hanging from the ceiling from Ikea and then, we'll have this lit up in
the corner. So, I'm going to go plug that in. So, I just plugged it in. I just want to show you
and all I do is sit it in the pot and it lights up the tree. So, I know it's hard to see because
it's super bright right now but trust me when I say this lights up the stem as well as the tree
at night. Like I said, it's hard to tell right now. Now, I'm going to drag a chair into place.
So, the chair is sitting right there and then beside it, I have this really cute
just a little side table and what I like to do is put a hurricane candle on the top of it
and so at night, like we have this whole corner lit up. We've got the olive tree lit up and then
we have those lights and then we have a subtle soft light right beside the chair and also too,
I have coasters. You'll see those in a second. If someone is sitting there, they can grab a coaster
and put their drink down and you know sit by the window, people watch, look at the water,
that kind of thing and then I have this glass hurricane and like I said, I'm just going to
set it on that little table plus I love how it looks in the window at night when the sun is
setting. It's so pretty.
Okay, now I'm going to show you how I'm going to decorate our ottoman.
So, let me show you first. So, we have this ottoman right here and I brought in this.
Then, I got these really cute jaggedy trays from TJ Maxx and I'm just going to set them in there
with I got these pretty marble coasters on Amazon and so I'm just going to set them here
and put it onto the tray and then I've shared this with you guys before. It's like a bubble
candle holder in glass and then I got this from Target and I'm just going to set that on the tray.
So, very simple but if we bring in some drinks at night, you know, we need space to put things on
there. Okay, see that corner right here, the edge of the wall? An olive tree is going there and I
know I should probably flip this and put it over there and put the lanterns on the other side but
when you're sitting in here, these look so pretty. I want to see them, you know. I feel like if I'm
sitting there, I'm not going to look right there. So, I'm going to leave it. It's just my preference
but I'm going to put an olive tree right here and light it up. So, I put a spotlight in there.
It looks so pretty at night. Okay, right here I have a table that I got from Amazon. I love it.
Very inexpensive and fairly easy to put together. I didn't do it but my husband did but
he said it wasn't bad and it has two drawers.
Okay, so this is what it looks like and then I put a candle under there so at night
it's lit up. Brought these from the other house. I had them at Christmas time
in the kitchen dining room area and I just thought they would look great in here.
I love them because they sort of match the ones over there. Can you see? So, anyway, look what I
got at Michael's. So, I got these two rosemary plants at Michael's. I just love them. I love
the texture. I love the, you know, sort of terracotta pots and so I'm going to set these up
here. I have these two books that I'm using more or less like a riser. So, I got these Japanese
bowls on Amazon. They come in black and white. I love the detailing around the edge so I'm using
these more or less like a decorative bowl. Okay, so right here I have this table that I got from
Amazon but Ralphie's Little Bowls are right there. This at Walmart and then I got this at Target and
I sat the warmer in there but if you want to see what it looks like, it's glass on the bottom. It's
really pretty but just so I protect my table, I like to put it in marble. So, anyway, I ran the
cord here because I'm going to place a mirror here. I don't like this stuff showing. Oh, and then down
here's like an air purifier that we keep in the basket. This topiary I got on Amazon and I just
put it in a black pot with some moss and so now I'm sort of running out of time because I still
have to edit this. I added these wall sconces over the weekend. One, I put one right there.
Well, friends, I'm running out of time and I still have to edit. What I'm going to insert at the end
is a night tour.
Anyway, thank you for visiting with me. Please give me a big thumbs up. I would greatly appreciate it.
