Hi guys. Welcome back to my channel today.
I'm sharing my daily routine as a full-time working mom.
Usually three days out of the work week,
I will get up between five and five 30 just so that I have some time to myself
in the morning before the kids get up. So I will get up,
change into some comfy clothes, make my cold brew,
and then I'll sit on the couch and read my Kindle for about a half an hour
until it's around six o'clock and I have to get my son up for school.
He has a start time of seven 15 and he gets the bus around six 40 so we have very
early mornings over in our house,
but I really enjoy getting up and having some me time before the kids are awake
because it just kind of sets the day up for success for me.
I feel like I'm filling up my cup and I also just feel like I have a jumpstart
on the day and I'm not rushing around as much. So around six o'clock,
I will go upstairs and wake my son up and he'll get himself dressed,
brush his teeth and come downstairs and in the meantime I am getting his lunch
and his snack all packed up in his backpack and then I will just walk him down
to the bus stop and he is off to school for the day and my daughter is five
years old. She is in pre K so she goes to a different school and so she
sometimes sleeps in a little bit longer than chase because she doesn't have to
be there super early and she is now up and her favorite thing these days is to
have a protein smoothie for breakfast and it's super easy for me and she loves
to help me make it.
So now it's close to seven o'clock and Quinn is just having her smoothie and
I'm going to get my workout in for the day. This was a fun one.
It was a 24 minute Metcon workout and I follow Heather Robertson's workouts here
on YouTube.
She has some really great strength and Metcon and kettlebell and tons of other
workouts and I love that they're really short and effective.
I don't have too much time in the day so I usually work out no more than 25 to
30 minutes and I religiously work out four days a week,
usually three days during the work week and then Saturdays and then I take
Sunday off and I am a firm believer that it is all about consistency.
It's not about the amount of time that you spend in the gym.
It's more that you keep showing up every single week and that is what has been
working for me. So I'm sticking with it. So now that my workouts over,
I'm going to take a quick shower, change and get ready for the day.
Sorry if it's TMI, but I remember this particular day I had just gotten my
period so I felt so bloated and crampy and just uncomfortable.
So I decided to wear a big oversized sweatshirt and be as comfy as possible.
So around seven 50 I left to take Quinn to school and then by the time I got
back it was around eight 10 and I logged onto a work for the day.
So I know that it might still be freezing where you live,
but in Texas it is starting to get a little bit warm and it is never too late to
start thinking about your spring wardrobe.
So I wanted to share a few pieces that I just got in from the brand DACA too.
They are on Amazon and I love them.
So first up is this beautiful coral colored mini dress.
I love the flowy sleeves and it is so lightweight and comfortable.
It has that ruching in the back to make it really stretchy and I love the bow
tie in the front. It also is a perfect length on me.
Hits right above the knee.
I am five one and it's just so adorable,
really lightweight and comfortable. Perfect for spring or for summer.
Next up is this flowy striped midi maxi dress.
I love all of the details like the cap sleeves and the V neck and it also has
pockets, which is a big plus. It has an empire waist,
which is flattering on almost all body types and it's the perfect dress to just
throw on for church. You can use it as a coverup at the beach,
going to brunch, going to dinner.
It's really versatile and all the little details just really make it really
unique and I just feel like it gives this polished and put together look and
with minimal effort. Next up is this casual smocked mini dress.
This is so perfect to just throw on in almost any situation.
I have it here paired with some cute cowboy boots,
but I just love how flowy and lightweight it is.
It's got these really cute buttons that go up the front. It's smocked,
so that makes it really comfortable and stretchy.
The sleeves are nice and loose and kind of balloon out a little bit,
which really just elevates the style. You can also wear it so many ways.
I switched into this pair of pointy toe flats and it just gives it a whole
nother look.
You could also put on a pair of sneakers or sandals and it would be cute either
way. You really can't go wrong.
Next up is this striped button down shirt. It is really cute.
It's kind of cropped and it also has three quarter length sleeves,
so it's a perfect piece to kind of transition from winter into spring.
You can wear it so many ways. I love the cute little ruffle at the bottom.
It just gives it a little something extra.
I have it here with a cute little leather mini skort and some cowboy boots
swapped it out for some sneakers for a more casual look.
And of course it looks great with a pair of white jeans or regular denim jeans
and some cute little block heel sandals.
Next we have this adorable smocked crew neck blouse.
It has these puff sleeves that make it just so girly and the flower pattern is
so beautiful and perfect for spring.
It's another great transitional piece from winter to spring.
I have it here with this leather mini skort and some booties,
but you can also make it a bit more business casual and wear it to work.
If you go in an office,
I have it paired with these really adorable trousers and some sneakers.
I like to wear it tucked in cause it just looks more flattering,
but here's the length of it.
You can easily wear it untucked with a skirt or some jeans and it will look
great too. Okay, the final one I'd kind of took a gamble on.
I am a big jeans and t-shirt kind of gal and so I got this baby doll peplum
oversized t-shirt and I absolutely love it.
It just elevates that basic jeans and a t-shirt look.
The ruffle detail at the bottom is so cute.
The material is so soft and breathable and if you love leggings as much as I do,
it looks great with them as well.
Just throw on a pair of sneakers and you can run errands, go pick up your kids,
go to the park.
There are so many ways you can style it and it comes in a bunch of different
colors as well. So thank you so much to Dockatoo for sponsoring today's video.
I will leave all of the links in the description box below.
Make sure you go check them out and start planning your spring wardrobe.
So after a few hours at the computer on zoom meetings and getting things done,
I took a break around 1130 to make my brunch for the day.
If you guys have been watching my videos, this is my hyper fixation meal.
It's maple sausage, two eggs, feta,
a dash of heavy whipping cream and I added some scallions and I eat it in a
low carb wrap with some sriracha and some green dragon sauce from Trader Joe's
and it is so good. I have it almost every single day of the week because I work
from home.
I like to take some of my lunch break and get cleaning or household chores done.
This has really helped me to maintain the house and not have to do everything on
Saturday and Sunday. So I like to do different chores on different days.
So Mondays I always do my floors. Tuesdays I focus on the bathrooms.
Wednesdays could be dusting or laundry. The list goes on and on.
But this day I was cleaning our master bathroom.
After lunch it was back to work for a few hours and around two o'clock I took a
little break to make a coffee.
I definitely needed a little afternoon pick me up.
Around 2.50 Chase will get home from school and he'll just come in and drop his
backpack off and I'll just take out his folder,
see if there's any notes or homework and then I'll unpack his lunchbox and clean
that out.
And usually Chase will go outside and play with the neighbors or if nobody's
around,
he'll stay inside and watch TV and have a snack while I finish up work for that
last hour to hour and a half in my work day.
And usually between 4.15 and 4.30 Chase and I will go and pick up Quinn.
And on this particular day it was really nice outside and the kids asked me to
go down to the park. So that's what we did.
And it also happened to be 90s day for Chase at school,
hence his awesome shirts.
Now we are back from the park and it's around 5.30 and I'm going to make lunch
for Quinn for the next day.
Chase likes to buy a couple days out of the week,
so it makes my life a lot easier to only have to make one lunch.
Now that Quinn's lunch is made, I'm going to go and start dinner.
And tonight we're having beef and broccoli over some Jasmine rice.
This is one of my favorite meals for the week.
We usually have it once a week. I love it.
The kids love it and it is so super simple.
You literally just make this sauce. There's very minimal ingredients, brown,
some ground beef.
I use some frozen steamable broccoli and some microwavable rice and it is so
delicious, so quick and simple.
And it's one of the few meals that my entire family will eat.
And I try to chop up the broccoli pretty small so that the kids don't really
taste it with the flavors of the beef and the sauce.
It kind of blends really nicely.
And so I feel extra good because my kids are getting some vegetables.
So if you are lazy like me and you don't like cooking,
this is the perfect meal for you.
I will leave the recipe linked in the description box below.
You definitely need to add it into your rotation.
All right, guys, that is pretty much the end of my working mom routine.
