Hi everyone! I'm Rebecca Virginia and today I have some brand new spring DIYs to share with you.
These are using Dollar Tree supplies to again make some really fun spring DIYs. We're going
to start off by dressing up our front door and making a nice spring wreath. I hope the weather
is warming up near you. Actually when I filmed this little intro here it was really cold out,
but it has started to warm up a little bit. So let me know in the comments down below if it's
feeling like spring where you live. I grabbed one of the wreath forms from the Dollar Tree and also
some of the new Dollar Tree Easter ribbon. Originally I started out with five different
types of ribbon, but you will see very soon I just think it's too many. Stick with four. I've
done four in the past and thought I was going to be different and add in a fifth one, but it really
didn't work out. So I would say just pick four different types of ribbon. I ended up going with
two of the carrot ribbons, a blue, and also a burlap. I'm using zip ties to make sure that
my ribbon stays attached to the wreath form. This is a super easy way to create a wreath.
Before I have cut out all the different pieces, put them together, I'll leave that link down below
or up above for you to check out, but this one is truly the easiest way to make a wreath.
You just create a little bump of the ribbon, add down a zip tie, and then pull the ribbon apart
just like I'm doing right now. You can pull it in all sorts of different directions.
You can decide to have all your ribbon going the exact same way or like me where I pulled it in
the different directions to kind of make a hodgepodge of all of the different ribbons. So
again you're going to take the ribbon, create a little bump with it, and then grab your zip tie
and zip tie the ribbon down to the wreath form. Of course the smaller the bump, you'll have a
little bit less to work with and to pull and the larger the bump that you make with the ribbon,
the easier it is going to be. Let me know in the comments down below if you plan on making
a spring wreath. I have really gotten into the wreath making lately in the past couple years
and especially with what feels like a pretty long winter, it is just so nice to bring out all of
these pastel colors and I'm getting really excited for the warmer weather. So again I just wanted to
show you a couple more times in case you were confused. I'm creating that bump with the ribbon
and then making sure that it stays down to our wreath form by using zip ties. I know you could
also use jute or really whatever you have on hand to tie it down, but zip ties are just so easy and
the Dollar Tree sells them in the hardware section so you can pick them up while you're already there
getting all of your Easter and ribbon supplies. Once I created a couple of the bumps, I went ahead
and started to pull the ribbon apart. I decided to have them go in different directions, but if
you pulled them all into one direction, maybe always had the carrots on the inside or always
had the carrots on the outside, I think that would look nice too. Fast forward to having the wreath
completely done and when I started to accessorize it, I forgot to hit record, but all that I did was
add some of the jute carrots from the Dollar Tree. I made a bow with the remaining ribbons up at the
top, just a very simple bow, and then I loved the little fuzzy bunny bum, so I hot glued that to
the bottom so he looks like he's diving into our carrot ribbons, and then I really liked the jute
eggs that they had. They had lots of different colors this year. I had never seen this blue
before. I also picked up the green and the yellow. Really loved that, so I did put about four of the
blue jute eggs all the way around the wreath and I love how this looks, especially all of the bright
colors. Usually I do pinks and greens, but I was having a lot of fun using blue for this DIY video
and I continued that trend into this wood bunny. The Dollar Tree had really nice wood cutouts this
year. I saw bunnies and chicks and eggs. I picked up the bunny, which you'll see right now, and I
also picked up the egg. I wanted to give this a little bit of a makeover. I liked the rustic look,
but I was going for a little bit more cottagecore, a little bit more whimsical. I had some of this
scrapbooking paper, oh my goodness, from quite a few years ago and I pieced it together. I had to
cut it out of lots of different sections because I was trying to use it all up. I adhered it down
with a bit of hot glue and then I used the same paper again on the bunny's ears. I wanted to make
this a little bit more feminine, kind of have that cottagecore vibe, so I had this really nice
lacy white ribbon. So originally I cut it out in the bunny ear shape, but I didn't really like that,
so I ended up just laying down a little bit of hot glue, placing the ribbon on top of it,
and then once the hot glue had dried, I went in with my scissors and basically just cut around
the bunny's ears and I really loved that touch. Usually you'll paint the inside of the bunny's
ears pink, but I thought this just kind of added something a little bit different and I also like
the lacy texture that it added. For the final touch to not only kind of hide where the ribbon
meets the scrapbooking paper, but also just because I thought it was really cute, I had
some blue ribbon, which of course just went perfectly, so I made that into a quick little bow
and hot glued that right at the bottom of the ears. And of course it's not a bunny DIY without
a nice bright white cottontail, so I picked these up in a pack at Dollar Tree and hot glued that
onto the tail area. Next up, it's not spring unless we have some fresh florals, so I thought
what better way to celebrate spring than to decorate a floral vase, again using all of my
Dollar Tree supplies. So these, I kind of would call them a hurricane vase I picked up at the
Dollar Tree. I actually used it for my bridal shower quite a few years ago. I will link that
video up above if you want to check it out and all the other DIYs I did for my bridal shower,
but all I really did for this one was paint the lower third of the hurricane vase with some white
paint. So I'm kind of giving it a little bit of a makeover. I used that same crochet lacy looking
ribbon and covered the white section of this hurricane vase and then hot glued it into place.
So originally I really liked these little wood cutouts of the bunnies and the eggs. I painted
them and I was going to put these all around the vase, but I didn't really like the way it looked
once I got them all the way around. They were kind of popping out and a little too 3D. I wanted
something a little bit more flush. I don't know. I still like it, but it just wasn't really the vibe.
I think I wanted different colors, so I ended up using the styrofoam eggs from Dollar Tree instead.
I painted them white with some brown speckles on them, a light pink color, and then also this
purple. So I took off all of those wood cutouts and decided to use these instead. I just hot glued
them all the way around the vase, and of course it's not complete without some fresh flowers that
I picked up at my local grocery store. If you're planning on hosting Easter dinner or having anyone
over in the spring season, a really fun way to display your napkin is by making a little bird
nest out of it. It's super easy. I folded a napkin in half and then started to roll it. Then you're
going to grab the end and just roll it on up. Once it is completely rolled, you'll kind of have this
pointed diamond section up there at the top. After you tuck the tail in, you're going to pull the
diamond in half, fold it over, and flip it over, and then you will see the nest take shape. Then you're
just going to tuck the napkin down into the outer sections. This would look really cute with a brown
or a linen colored napkin. I only have this super bright one, but I didn't want to go out and buy
new napkins just for this video. So I'm using this one, but I really think if you do it the color of
the nest, it'd be really pretty. So I'll show you again. You fold your napkin in half and then start
to roll it up, leaving a little bit of the diamond up at the top. Then grab it on the left hand side
and start to roll. You're going to take the end and tuck it into the napkin anywhere really that
there is a fold. Once you stand it up, you're going to split those in half, peel them over, and then
flip your nest and tuck in all of your ends. Because there's lots of folds in this, it's really easy.
Anything that pops out, you just tuck it back in and then kind of like pull it apart, make it a
little bit messier and bigger so it really looks like that nest. I ended up using some wood eggs
from Dollar Tree, but I think it'd be really pretty with some baby's breath. You can add in
a person's name tag if you are hosting maybe an Easter dinner, but I think it's a really fun way
to make a twist on a normal napkin setting. This next DIY is actually functional, but besides being
a drink coaster, I also just think it's a really cute DIY. You could display it, kind of have it
perched up against a cutting board like I do, but these are made to be coasters. I do use waterproof
Mod Podge so you can put your drink down on it. I started off by cutting out a bunny face onto
some construction paper. You can do whatever image you want. If you don't want to do a bunny, you can
do an egg. That would even be a little bit easier. You could do a chick. You could do whatever design
that you want. Then I had some jute rope. You can either use the nautical rope from Dollar Tree that
you'll find in the artificial flower section, or you can use the thinner jute that you'll find on
the crafter's square section. I liked this one because it was a little bit thicker, so it didn't
take me quite as long to do. And the tutorial is really easy. You're just adding a bit of hot glue
and going around and around and around. If anything, it's more time consuming than it is actually
difficult. The only slightly difficult part were the ears. I thought I would do both of them at the
same time, but it was actually just a lot faster and easier to do one ear at a time going around
and around with this rope jute. On one of the bunny shapes a little bit higher up so it wouldn't get
in the way of actually placing a drink down onto the face, I am going to add a little pink bow. But
before I do that, I want to make these waterproof. So if you have a drink down and condensation
happens and it starts to drip, it's not going to really ruin your project. So I went over
both of my bunny shapes with a good thick amount of some waterproof mod podge, and I left that to
dry for about 12 hours. When I came back, they were perfect and sealed. I added on with a little bit of
hot glue that pink bow, and these are perfect. I'm not sure if I'm going to use them as actual
coasters or just use them for decor, but I really love them. So these frames I have seen all over
Instagram and YouTube. They're kind of having a viral moment here, and I love them. I picked them
both up. The butterfly one I don't think needs much of a makeover, but the gold one I did end
up giving a nice makeover to, and I really like the way that it turned out. But again, that butterfly
one is perfect with the black and then the brushed gold. I just added a tiny bit more of the rub and
all around it just to make it have a little bit less of the shiny plastic look to it, and I love
the way that that one came out. For the gold one, I completely covered it in some black paint. If you
had black spray paint, that would be a much faster way, but it is freezing cold here right now. We
even got a little bit of snow, which is uncharacteristic for us, so I didn't know if the
paint in my garage was going to be frozen or anything. So it was a tiny mirror, so I just
decided to cover it completely with some black paint, and then I went in again with the rub and
buff and a paper towel, and love the way that this one turned out. Also, if you like the images and
the frames, I will have the free printables linked down below. Thanks so much for watching. Until next
time, keep searching, keep creating.
