Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, marking the annual transition away from eastern standard time. Residents are advised to set their manual clocks forward one hour on Saturday night before going to bed.
Well, it may still look and feel like winter outside, but a sure sign of
spring is almost here. 22 new storm team meteorologist Adam Trump go is
working for you with what we need to do this weekend. That signifies the
start of spring is not too far away. Well, they can see our this weekend.
We spring forward as we go from eastern standard time to daylight saving time
after what has been a pretty cold and snowy winter. There is a sign that
not too far away. Daylight saving time begins this weekend. Daylight saving
time officially arrives at two a.m. Sunday morning. But Saturday night
before we go to bed, we turn our clocks forward one hour. We lose an hour of
sleep, but the sun will set an hour later Sunday evening and the starting
and ending dates of daylight saving time have changed over the years. The
Uniform Time Act of 1966 established daylight saving time throughout the
United States. In 1974, daylight saving time was extended to save energy
during the energy crisis from 1986 to 2006. The starting time of daylight
saving time was changed to April 1st and the last Sunday in October was made
the ending date. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changed the starting date to
the second Sunday in March and the ending date to the first Sunday in
November. While most of the country observes the time change, Hawaii and
most of Arizona do not observe daylight saving time. And fortunately, with
technology today, the time on our phones and our computers will
automatically change working for you. I'm 22 Storm Team meteorologist Adam
Stremko.
