Hey, I'm Dr. Wolfe, veterinarian and food therapist for pets,
and this is Ada, and today I'm gonna show you
just how easy it can be to make homemade dog food.
If you've hesitated to make the switch
from kibble to homemade because you think
it's gonna be too difficult, too expensive,
or too time-consuming, this video's for you.
I'm gonna show you how you can make balanced meals
for your dog without spending an entire day meal prepping
or blowing your entire grocery budget.
And you may even have most of these ingredients
in your kitchen already.
But before we get started, if you're new here
and you want to take the guesswork out of feeding your pet,

and recipe videos.
All right, let's do this.
So this is literally all we need for this recipe.
It's so easy, just chicken breast, spinach, eggs,
hemp seeds, sweet potatoes, apple, sardines canned in water,
and a couple of supplements, and this is gonna give us
a complete and balanced recipe.
Now, for this specific video, I'm not gonna show you
the full cooking process because it's pretty straightforward
and I've put some additional details in the description,
but I do wanna show you each individual ingredient,
what nutrients they supply, and how much each of them cost.
Okay, so here I've listed all the essential nutrients
your pet needs on a daily basis.
Unless you're using a complete and balanced recipe
made specifically for your pet,
they're probably missing several of these,
so don't skip that step.
Homemade recipes can be super simple like this one
that rely a little bit more heavily on vitamin
and mineral supplementation, or they can be very complex
and made up entirely of whole food ingredients.
I personally advocate for rotating
through different types of recipes
to help vary nutrient intake.
And at the end of this video, I'll share a resource
that can help you do just that.
But this is a really great starter recipe,
and it takes less than 10 ingredients
to make it complete and balanced.
This recipe has really become a staple in my household
because it saves me so much time.
I don't have to go to the grocery store.
I can just use what I already have in the fridge.
And knowing how to build and balance recipes
really comes in handy for when I don't have
a specific ingredient or as much of an ingredient
as I originally thought.
I can simply go into the formulation software,
tweak a couple of things, and it's still gonna be balanced.
So if you want to learn how to make recipes like this
that work for you, what you've got in your kitchen already,
and your budget, be sure to check out
my homemade diet mini course
called The Ultimate Guide to Homemade Pet Food.
It takes less than two hours to complete
and walks you step-by-step through the process
of building custom recipes for your pet
that fit both their needs as well as your budget.
And the link to that is in the description.
Thanks for watching, see you next time.
