This stray bunny had been abandoned and was trying to stay safe during an
unusual LA rainstorm. She found refuge under some patio furniture in a
neighbor's yard, huddling under the small dry space to wait out the storm. The
property owner, not knowing much about rabbits, was kind enough to leave out
food and water for it. I was informed about it via a Facebook post that
someone had published and decided I would check it out and see if I could
help rescue this bunny. I'm kind of nervous. I'm not prepared to bring a
bunny home or anything. It's been a really long time since I've hung around
another bunny. Yeah, I don't feel like mentally prepared or anything to do this
but when there's an emergency you just have to act fast. All right, just arrived.
I know that it goes from here to the house. I see it every day. Oh, you see it
every day? Yeah. Like between what times? Like in the afternoon or around this
time he comes out. No idea if this is gonna be successful or not. I mean
apparently everybody's seen him though, you know, but it's always like when the
rescuers get here that they're nowhere to be found. Pretty much how it always
goes. He said we could set it up wherever. Unfortunately the bunny was
nowhere to be found so we set up a humane trap nearby and a neighbor
agreed to monitor it while we planned to return later. That evening, before I could
even get there, I got a text from Nicole saying she returned and had caught the
bunny. Okay guys, so Nicole got the bunny. Not expecting that at all. She's bringing
the bunny here tonight and I have to prep for this bunny. I don't think I'm
like ready to use Lennon's litter box with another bunny. Like I just, I don't
know. I don't know. I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Hey, this is crazy. She's a
sweetheart. Oh my god, you guys. Oh my goodness. I can't believe I have a bunny
right now. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Are you okay? Hi, are you okay? You want to
try some veggies? Here's some veggies. You want to try some blueberry? It's a
blueberry. Yeah, it's a blueberry. Yeah. Yes, you want a blueberry. Oh, you're gonna eat too
much sugar. Some of the veggies. Oh, yeah. Oh my gosh, you are hungry. Lennon used to love
cilantro. I don't know why this makes me really emotional. I'm just feeling so many different emotions right now.
You're a silly goose. You're silly.
Good morning. Good morning. You want your breakfast? You want to eat some food? You hungry? Let's get your food.
Let's get your food. Okay, so she gets her very own hop litter box. It's been
doubling up as a Heidi house, which is really nice. I just put some more hay in
the feeder. She also had a little accident here on this pee pad. She is not
potty trained. She is not spayed, but she is going to the bathroom in the litter
box as well. So I feel like once she actually gets fixed, she'll be able to be
potty trained properly and won't be so all over the place. But you can see
there's really no hay spillage anywhere. You know, this really does keep
everything contained, which is nice. You just have to work on getting this baby
potty trained. You're so cute. This is my balcony, so you can see like the rain is
coming down really, really hard. It is just pouring in LA. It does happen, guys.
It does rain in LA at least like a few times a year. Not as much compared to
other places, but this baby would have been out here in the rain if she had not
been rescued. So we are very, very thankful that she has a roof over her
head right now. I know this isn't like, you know, the biggest X-Pen setup, but I
do let her free roam quite a bit because she's not spayed and my place is not a
hundred percent bunny proofed anymore. And because she's also still on the
young side, this is just the safest option for her. But I do give her
supervised free roaming time. Oh my goodness. No, this is not where you're
supposed to pee. Oh my goodness. Oh yeah, this is the life of having an unspayed rabbit, guys.
Yeah, that's where you're supposed to go, you silly goose.
Someone's got to do it. That's where Landon used to sleep.
