Tung Tăng greets you all from across the region
Good evening dear viewers
Every year as spring arrives
The ban flowers bloom white across the Northwest region
Such forests of blooming ban flowers appear completely white
Creating a very beautiful landscape
And in the city of Điện Biên Phủ every year the
local people also hold a large-scale festival
known as the Hoa Ban Festival
Today's program invites you all to join me in experiencing the Ban flower
festival in Điện Biên Phủ city
Now we will begin the program together
The spot where I'm standing now is the former territory
of Thanh Luân Commune—today it's Thanh Nú Commune
This place is about 3 kilometers west of Mường Thanh Market
And today I came here in the afternoon
so I also came to
rent a homestay I stayed here overnight last night and I
also had dinner right here at this homestay
The route to the homestay is easy enough
Dien Bien Phu is located about 450 kilometers northwest of
Hanoi's city center and the
journey up here is quite a long one
So if we want to go we'd better leave early
With a distance like that we'll probably need the whole day
It takes from morning until night to get there
And because the number of people attending the Hoa Ban Festival will be extremely large
Therefore in the city center I think guesthouses and
hotels are quite busy so finding a room will be harder
That's why today I came to Điện Biên Phủ—I'm not in
the central area but about
3 kilometers away from it
Staying at a homestay in this outer area is great and of course there
are still plenty of rooms available
here—they're more spacious and airy
And naturally prices are also lower in the central area
To enjoy the sight of the Banyan flowers at the Hoa Ban Festival
in Dien Bien Province we have numerous destinations to choose from
For example the roads leading into the city
center where the procession passes through the
crossroads and arrives at Ban Phien Loi or along the banks of the Nam Rom River
View of Mường Thanh Market
Or Võ Thị Sáu Park Lake
Additionally some locations farther from the city center
Like the old Mường Áng district's Nậm Cướm checkpoint or the Tây Trang
border gate—there are quite a few spots
to admire the blooming Hoa Ban flowers
But if we want to admire the beautiful Hoa
Ban blossoms we should go outside to those distant places—I think the scenery there
untouched and wild will be even more beautiful
To fully experience the Hoa Ban Festival you'd need to
spend one or two days here
as the area is quite extensive
Beyond admiring the blooming Hoa Ban flowers we can
also visit several other
popular tourist attractions
In the city of Điện Biên Phủ
such as the Nơ Cát Tunnels area
and other sites from the French resistance war period
This is the scene on Vo Nguyen Giap Street
Downtown Dien Bien Phu City
It's nearly 9 p m now
Their roads are lit with numerous
LED lights—so dazzlingly beautiful
Look over there—every single tree
trunk is adorned with LED lights
On the other side of the road are the rows of shops
And from here looking across that's Mường Thanh
Pedestrian Street—now I'
ll go over there right away
Tonight marks the beginning of the
Hoa Ban Festival opening ceremony
And we came here to visit during the peak blooming season of the Ban flowers
It will be the most beautiful time
Usually around March to May in the Gregorian calendar
Bế Văn Đàn Stree
Ban Flower Festival 2026
From March 6 to 12 2026
The festival lasts a full wee
However the Ban flower season only ends
when the Ban flowers themselves wither
The scene at the start of the pedestrian street
I saw a large crowd gathered here
Inside the electric lights were brightly glowing
Today also marks the opening ceremony of the
Peach Blossom Festival
The festival officially begins at 8 p m
The location is at the Stadium
—just now I went there to
take a look but I stayed far
away and couldn't get close
They keep us from getting closer—only
allowed to view it from afar about
几十 meters away—because it's so distant
and under such minimal lighting
That's why nothing could be filmed at all
Here it is
We can see clearly
The entrance they built in the style of a roofed gate
Along this path are stalls
selling fresh flowers
Pedestrian street
The day of the Ban Flower Festival
Also March 8
Very special
There are so many people
here This area is a pedestrian street
So all vehicles are prohibited
Along the pedestrian street there
are numerous shops on both sides
across the way they sell food and
drinks and right
here it's the same
Alongside these are local specialties
Honey
Or other local
specialties This area is almost entirely
Dedicated to cuisine
Offering meats bamboo shoots
That crowded area over there
Hearing the sound of gongs
They must be performing
The cultural performance team
Just now there were several girls
wearing their ethnic costumes
which looked very beautiful with
outfits in many vibrant colors
That's why
it's impossible to squeeze right in the middle
I'll stand over here on the side
I'll probably be closer when I turn around
Those women dancing there are from the Kho Meo ethnic group
The skirt's hem
is striped
In this area you can see the
ladies and older women standing
against the gong gate
Drum gate combined
Is she your
friend Phien Loi right
This doctor is the
head of sales he's
capable of handling
cultural affairs
If you're watching
my video just reopen
it—I've recorded a new version for you
Today stepping out here
Among tens of thousands of people
And unexpectedly running into
An old acquaintance
Next to a young girl
Very beautiful
She's wearing this outfit
What ethnic group is this dear
The Thai ethnic group
Black Thai people
In this northwestern region the majority
are Black Thai people isn't that right
In the festive atmosphere this
joyous scene occasionally features
people dressed in such costumes
holding musical
instruments as well
To have fun
On the day of
The opening day of the
2026 Hoa Ban Festival
It was fantastic
Look behind me here you can see
A sea of people
People standing shoulder to shoulder
It's amazing
What's your name again
My name is Thuy
What do you think of my sister Thu
If you think she's amazing
When I post the video
Please leave a like in the comments
Well goodbye to my sister Thu
Have a pleasant evening
Now I
Continue delving deeper into The bustling areas
In this pedestrian zone
There are numerous streets
Cross streets are narrow
Packed with people
And occasionally groups appear
They play music beating drums
or striking gongs dressed in
traditional ethnic minority
clothing looking
very beautiful
Indeed it's a festival
one of the most
vibrant celebrations
in the Northwest region
This morning I began my flower-
watching journey and the first stop
was the Dui De relic site located
in the heart of Điện Biên Phủ city
This is also a very famous historical site
during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign
in 1954
We see the path leading up the hill—
it's a very wide road allowing cars to
climb easily and the
scenery along both sides of the road
is quite impressive
The flowering trees bloom white across the hills
This hill is made of soil which is why there are so many banana trees growing here
Looking at this I
see that the mountain
laurel is mostly white
with pink stamens
There are many types of flowers you know—
They could be white flowers
Or they could be red roses
Mound Dyke
A historical site from the resistance war against France
And here long ago
Numerous fierce battles Took place between the two
sides
Between the French forces and the Viet
Minh troops this place is now a historical
site where a beautiful elevated walkway
has been constructed for visitors to ascend
Now I'm heading
up to the hilltop
And from up here we can look down onto Vo Nguyen
Giap Street the main road
I walked along last night
From here looking out around us it's easy
to see everything because it's so high
Here the pale pink
blossoms
mingle with the
pure white ones
It looks so beautiful
Flower viewing itinerary
Today in addition to the dike
hill historical site I also visited
Other locations and
One of those places is where people
They say the apricot blossoms
are in full bloom so abundant
they look like a forest and
that place is
called Nam Cuong
The district of Mương
Áng is approximately
50 kilometers away Along the way
if I come across anything interesting
or beautiful I might stop to take a look
To share this moment with you all
Now we'll head up to the top of the hill then proceed toward the viewpoint overlooking
the winding road nearby
Over there is a
very large roundabout
This is the view from atop the embankment hill
Up here the structures
were built from stone
with a notably ancient architectural style
The monument is up there
Now I'll
Look out across the hills
Today's main focus is going to see the ban flowers
So I
Will mainly shoot the ban flowers
As for the historical sites
Perhaps we'll meet again another time
Here it is
The banana trees across the hills
The blossoms are in full dazzling bloom
Step out to this spot—it's higher
from here it might look a lot better
You have to look from afar a bit
otherwise standing close beneath the
tree looking up you won't see its beauty because it'
s blocked from view
This is the monument of unwavering determination to
fight and win standing atop the hill
The image of the Viet Minh soldiers
During the resistance against France
Wore those distinctive cotton uniforms
Very characteristic
Goalkeeper jerseys are a type of protective jersey
That one is made of cotton
This is the pedestrian path
We're looking down
The roundabout on Vo Nguyen Giap Road below
And ahead there
About a couple hundred meters away
A flat expanse
That's Mường Thanh Airport folks
And this field down here
A smooth rice field
That cool green area is also
known as the Mường Thanh Plain
The Mường Thanh pink blossoms
fade to blue the peach
blossoms bloom white again the orange grove turns golden once more
Famous place in Vietnam
Now I'll walk down to the
street to see the Điện
Biên Phủ city center during
the peace festival season
Looks as lively as last night did
The square area
Adjacent to Vo Nguyen Giap Street
People are gathering in large numbers here
And this program
Is a joint training session
It's a final rehearsal
before tonight 's
official event—the street parade
There are many groups
marching in the parade
A group of
children dressed
in ethnic minority attire
So beautiful
What do you think of the colors in the highlands
True festival spirit Streets
He's so happy
Hello everyone
Here too
The children are wearing traditional attire
of the Thai people
These are black skirts
Che face of the world
Go ahead and ask me
I mean this outfit
Is it from Thailand right
That's right In the Northwest I'
ve heard there are both Black Thai
and White Thai
people So which group
is the outfit you're wearing from
The Thai people the white ones are
It's beautiful isn't it
Maybe she's his sister
Still in school
He noticed he
was being filmed Seemed a bit shy
Have a great day
Believe in yourself dear
There's nothing to be afraid of
It's so beautiful
These girls are wearing
outfits like this May
I ask you something Is
this scarf a Pew scarf
The Pew cloth belongs to the Black Thai people not the
White Thai it is primarily associated with the Black Thai
That's wonderful
The red thread follows the scarf Pew
Let the wind carry it here
Here you can show me
Here it is
Can you see it
Exactly the scarf
Pew follows the
red thread many colors this one
people can wear around the neck or
tie up on the head that's it
For example they can tie it up
high like that
woman over there
and the Thais also
have their own distinctive style of hairdo
That's my niece Auntie
This is the hairdo on top of the head you see
Don't you see it
It's just a hair bun
And that's called a stock split
The Northwest region including the provinces of
Dien Bien Lai Chau and Son La is predominantly
inhabited by the Black Thai people This area is home
to a large population of Thai ethnic group members
And the culture here is Thai
culture—what I enjoyed for
dinner at that homestay is
also characteristic of it
Thai people's favorite dish is undoubtedly larb or
perhaps the ban flower salad—
both are absolutely wonderful
That's right I find these
girls so lively
and cheerful
That's amazing
Well bye-bye everyone
Hello everyone
You're all dressed in the traditional attire
of the Black Tai people and Piu scarves
That's the whole scene here
As for the boys' outfits here
Those ones
I'm holding it in my hand—what's this thing called sweetheart
—It's a fruit dear
Take this one
Throw the doll through the ring
On that pole there
That's exactly the fruit
Those are my younger brothers and sisters
They're at that growing-up age
So lively and full of energy it's amazing
Hi everyone this is the channel that travels across the country
YouTube channel
Yes of course
The morning session today is
a rehearsal so the activities
proceed much like a formal event
but today it's just a rehearsal
It's bright in the morning so filming then
will look great Of course shooting at night
is also beautiful but
there will be some dark
corners—places where the light doesn't reach
It'll look beautiful in the morning otherwise it'll be a bit
blurry Guys
I think I prefer shooting this morning's atmosphere
Here we go
Hi everyone
You see the girls from the highlands wearing
Tai ethnic attire
Isn't it beautiful
Absolutely stunning
Teacher you 're
here too
The teacher has already instructed them to Guide the students in
forming a parade formation
For the Ban Flower Festival
2026
Hey can I ask you something
How far have you gotten in school
I'm in sixth grade sir
So today
the school in this area
The city of Điện Biên Phủ
Bringing the children here to join the festival
The students from
middle school whose
channel is YouTube
Tung Tăng Khắp Miề
I'll just stay here for a moment
Then right now I'll
Head over to the stage area
To see what
they're Dancing
The stage for that scene is the cultural performances
scheduled for tonight's
Carnival of the Hoa Ban Festival
They're on the move
Is this the Tai fan dance right
That's it Can you
see it everyone
Let's go everyone
The parade then continued with
a simple dance gesture but it
was unmistakably the distinctive
Tai dance known as the Tai Xoè
The girls hold their piu scarves spread open
while the boys carry fruit in their hands
Next came the parade
behind them each person holding two fans
in both hands the sight
resembling blooming cherry blossoms
That's when everyone rose up
at once a synchronized wave
looking truly beautiful—just
like the wave of
apricot blossoms
Viewing this morning's fusion session
The light is so clear
The filming turned out beautifully
If everyone wears costumes tonight
Then it will be
It will also be very dazzling
Maybe I'll come here
I'll ask that girl
The parade here
What's theme This is
how our group marches
So you'representing some team huh
The Thai people that's who
Thus this lineup
represents the Thai team
Now I'll move along the formation
Heading toward the site
Historical dike relocation roundabout
The parade is moving toward the
historical site at the roundabout
Too beautiful
I don't know what else to say
Highland attire
Vibrant colors
She's the younger sister
Leading the group
So beautiful to look at
I'll go to the front of the group
to see how they're walking on stilts
The acrobats
walking on stilts and juggling
riding a unicycle This stilt walking
is really high folks
Seeing that artist there
standing unsteadily this guy'
s pretty tall—about the
height of an adult—hello ma'am
This stilt-walking artist
is so beautiful to look at
Yes She's so beautiful
I wonder if she's married yet
I'm turning the stilts slightly
so you can see them better There you go
They're like two ladders attached to the feet
Not everyone can handle this journey
Down the house with a swaying hip
Tighten the belt fully
Car on the track
Stitch by stitch Straining to hold
onto someone's foot
The thing worth praising in the painting
With the swift morning song echoing
Goodbye to the month's fresh vigor
Full of life as each spring returns
That vibrant sound once more entwines
Into the skies of fortune
Just like the changing of seasons the world is ever-changing
After viewing the joint
training program at the Dien Bien
Phu city center I now continue along National Highway 279
To reach the area known
as Dưng Ban—
that is the Nậm
Cướm village located within
Mường Ảng District—also—
And along National Highway
279 there's another spot—
Tăng Quái Pass—where wild
banana flowers bloom profusely
The monk and the thief are heading
this way about ten kilometers ahead and along the route as
you can see we've spotted them
On either side of the road
There were rows of blooming mountain plum trees their white blossoms glowing brightly
This section is where
the apricot blossoms
bloom abundantly and beautifully so
travelers driving along the route often stop here to
sightsee and take photos
Even though it's just a row of
trees growing alongside the road
they bloom so densely that they
create a scene of breathtaking beauty
Now I'm heading to that area—there
they are standing there taking photos
The scene here is the
start of National Highway
279 with the Nậm
Giốm River flowing beside it
The rows of blooming cherry
blossoms are breathtaking
And now tourists come here to take photos
I'd say there are quite a few already
So beautiful
A line of stalls stretching along the road
This area is primarily inhabited
by the Thai people yet here I
see a woman wearing traditional
clothing of the Mong ethnic group
Travelers from afar have arrived
Over here
The black dress and the blouse
With a silver button fastening at the front
That is truly the hallmark of the Thai traditional attire
After taking a moment to enjoy the view
here I'll now continue
on to Dam Cuom Village
After driving
for about an hour
I've now arrived in this area
There are a few houses around here but they're quite sparse
Look around you—see the
endless rolling hills
From National Highway 279 this point
is 14 kilometers
away and this location
is a three-way intersection with
a very nice road that allows cars to pass
Flat resin flow and right at
this intersection a sign by
the roadside reads: Ancient
Ban Forest Dark
Bandit Village
The administrative area of Nà Tấu Village
Dien Bien Province
It's about another 4 kilometers from here to Ban Co Forest
In addition to this new signboard
there remains the old signboard
inscribed with "Dac Cuoi"
belonging to Ngoi Cay commune
Buong Uong district
Cultural Festival of Ban Dam Cuom March 7
to March 9 2026
A girl wearing a traditional
Tai costume from the
Western Flower Branch
Valley is beautifully printed
The path ahead winds and
twists through the hills
Here we see
Over on those hills
That is the vast green forest of Bạt Ngàn
Program to
Attend the Ban Flower Festival
And admire the blooming Ban flowers
In Dien Bien
Must say it was a journey
Evokes deep emotions—traveling
dozens of kilometers from the
heart of Điện Biên Phủ city to
reach remote mountain villages
The scenery here is so untouched and pristine
I believe there will be plenty of ban flowers
And naturally the view feels close to nature
It will look more beautiful that way
The feeling upon arriving in this area
The scenery along the roadside
appears extremely wild and untouched
Look up there at that
mountain slope—doesn't
it look completely white
That's the ban flowers
Exactly Look up
at the mountain
That distant pier is probably hard to see but when I
'm in the car I look up and
it's just a blur of white
The starting point will drop from here down
I'll descend right here
And begin walking in
I'll explore as I go guys
It will better
I'm stepping outside now
The space is airy and elegant
Absolutely fantastic
Look look don't you see
Her house is on a hillside
surrounded by a forest
of flowering apricot trees
Yes sir
I'll go ask about how
this version of yours is
Hello there Excuse me could
I ask you something
Which ethnic group lives in this village
The Mong people
All of them are Mong
No wonder I saw the wall you built out of stones right in front of your house
It is the distinctive
wall of the Mong people
Hello Grandma
Yes sir
I see it here—look the shop
has a few Mong people's outfits hung up
From out here watching the whole scene it 's enough to make you pause and take it in
That entire hillside Is
filled with countless flowering ban trees
She lies far away
It is now noon
The midday rooster crows with a lustful cry
Out by the roadside I saw a
sign saying March 7th to 9th
There's a festival in the village
So there's a festival happening at this time
Or what activity are you referring to sir
It's been two days already
Yes
Good grief
These two dogs
Is there
any activity today the 9th
Yes
At this location the festival is being
held—what activities are there sir
For example
Singing along or do you want to sing something
Yes
Cultural performances and
traditional folk games
Yes
I'll say goodbye to you now
I'm going to walk
now to get into the center of the village
How many houses are there in this village please
Yes 78 households
So the village has
only about
80 households
Now the Nậm Cắm area also has
homestay accommodations available so
visitors who come here can rent
a place to stay right on the spot
Then comes the sight of blooming apricot flowers
Experience the festive atmosphere of a village gathering
In a remote region
Here it is
This is also a homestay just like that one
Looking at the spacious very clean houses
The distinctive stone walls characteristic of the Mong people
This area is known as
the clay hills however these
hills are situated at a
relatively high elevation
We look up at the steep hillside high
above where the Mông people have built
their homes in such areas and even
constructed the path leading up there
The paved roads are decent
enough to ride a motorcycle
up but the incline has to
be described as extremely steep
This is the path leading into
the village just at
the entrance there's a signpost indicating the route up to Ban Forest
And this is the path leading up to the ancient forest
The road is very narrow
Now I'll head into the
heart of the village
then climb up to the
ancient banyan forest
Go a little further
At this point it's a T-junction
The road on the right
That's the one we drive on by car
To enjoy the view of the ancient rhododendron forest
This concrete road
Is a bit steep
That's the hiking trail
The path we just passed by
The path out there starts as a
pedestrian walkway but it begins
from the outside Inside there's
another path too but it's wider
Now I'll follow this
walking path to go up
The winding path through the
village is very beautiful
Within the village between one
house and another there are
footpaths some are paved with
concrete allowing motorbike access
Or perhaps it's just people building stone
steps—nothing more than a path meant for walking
The slope here is quite steep
This is a residential house
I thought it was a footpath
leading that way but it's not
We'll follow the road like this
I'm a traveler from afar unfamiliar
with the twists and turns of this path
A courtyard
This is the stage
The cultural festival linked to the preservation
and development of the ban flower tree
Na Tau 2026 Village
Now we'll follow
the path behind the
scenes to head toward the other side
Then comes the view of the ancient
Ban Cổ forest—where the trail
at the village's entrance is exactly
the narrow path we saw earlier
I went into the village to shoot the scenery for
a bit then had to loop back out onto the old road
Flower Ban Festival
In this place the people live
here the rice plants grow those
terraced fields over there
though their area is not large
Yet people still make use of it to grow rice
This road gets muddy and
slippery when it rains
Along the path the cherry trees
bloom whitening the forest
The leaves of the ban
tree resemble those of
an apple tree but are much larger
The ban flower is also very large
Now let's walk along the path
and pick a low-lying flower
I'll pluck
one To shoot a close-up video and share it with you all
Consider how that particular flower unfolds
Up until now we've
only ever seen the ban
flowers from a distance—never close-up
Blossom flood bucke
On the other side it looks like a school
That's right
I saw a drawing on the wall
Actually we came to the ancient forest
If we look from a distance
we can see the entire scene
But if we get close
all we see are the tree trunks
The tree canopy is dense
blocking the view from
above thus limiting the
forest's visual appeal
The final footsteps
To enter the central area
Of the ancient rhododendron forest
They say this is the ancient rhododendron forest
I believe it's the age of the trees
These cherry blossom trees here
are old indeed—so old in fact
that to tell their story would
take us back half a century or more
On either side
of the path the blossoms are in full bloom
These old banyan trees are many years old
Their trunks are extremely thick and sturdy
A flowering plum blossom
I zoom in closely so you can see
how the ban flower looks
It's fragrant too that's for sure
I initially thought flowers had no scent at all
but in reality flower blossoms are quite fragrant
This scent can be extracted to make
perfume—it has a
delicate subtle fragrance
I just went to look at the mountain laurel flowers and they kept lingering in my
thoughts but now perhaps I've begun to
understand part of the
mountain laurel's structure
At first I thought
its stamen was purple and pink
but when I looked again the second time
and then the third
It's not like that
that purple and pink hue
is one of the five petals of the ban flower
Here’s another
flower picked up
Five petals the central one
being multicolored
I vaguely thought it looked like a stamen petal
Pale lavender pink
But in reality it's one of five petals
Excellent
There are still more ban flowers here
And faintly visible below
Those tree stumps are the homes
of the Mong people
They keep their
house modest
surrounded by a stone wall
This village is located
approximately 50 kilometers
northeast of the city
center of Điện Biên Phủ
Here the surrounding area is dotted with mountains
Extremely high hills
The Miao people often live in places
like these—high up striving for glory
Thus we have just completed
a program of visiting
and experiencing the
2026 Ban Flower Festival
In the city of Điện Biên Phủ Điện Biên Province
this year's festival is
being held in early March
And this is also a very famous
festival attracting numerous
tourists and local residents who
join in the festive atmosphere
We will see the parades
They march through the streets
And the participants wear traditional costumes
Of the ethnic groups from Northwest Vietnam
And of course at the Ban flower festival we'll get to
admire the Ban flowers in
full bloom along the streets
In the heart of Điện Biên Phủ city
Or further afield
Such as the Tây Trang border gate area
Or Tăng Quái Pass
On National Highway 279 or in the
remote area of Nam Cuom Village the
mountain peach blossoms are abundant
and when they bloom in full glory
Creating a stunning picture amidst the mountains and forests
Now I'd like to conclude this video
Looking forward to seeing you in the next video
Goodbye for now
