It sounds like this.
Every letter makes a sound and T says T.
Can you make that sound?
Let's try it together.
Every letter makes a sound and T says T.
Great trying.
Let's put T on the board.
T, letter of the week.
The letter of the week is T, that's right.
And T says T, like tomato.
T, like turtle.
T, like table.
T, like tap.
Tap, tap, tap.
Great.
We will keep reviewing other words
that start with letter T all week.
So if you can think of some, just remember.
Okay, let's find out what our shape of the week is.
Are you ready?
Great, let's do it.
Shape of the week.
Ooh, this is a special shape.
It has four sides and two of the sides are short
and two of the sides are long.
What shape is it?
It's a rectangle.
Our shape of the week is a rectangle.
That's right, a rectangle.
How about I put this on the board
and then I'm going to show you,
now I want to show you the sides that are short
and the sides that are long.
I'm going to draw the rectangle
and show you the sides that are short
and show you the sides that are long.
Okay, follow me to our writing and drawing board.
I'm going to use my blue marker.
Got it open.
Okay, here we go.
Oh, look at this.
I forgot to tell you.
I wrote good morning.
That was for all of you.
Good morning.
Good morning again.
Now let's draw our rectangle.
Okay, I'm going to draw the long side first.
Long side.
Then it has a short side going down.
And then it has another short side going down.
And then it has another long side.
Long.
There's my rectangle.
Four sides.
One, two, three, and four.
Let's try it with the pointer.
Let's go across, down, across, and up.
One, two, three, and four.
Four sides.
One, two, three, four.
And now I want to know what's the weather?
What's the weather?
What's the weather out today?
Is it sunny?
Is it cloudy?
Is it raining out today?
What's the weather where you live?
You may have to look out your window.
I'll give you some time.
Tell me what the weather is where you live.
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Oh, are you back?
Well, what's the weather where you live?
Really?
Well, let me see what the weather is where I live.
I'm going to look out my window.
My window's over there.
Ooh, I see lots of sun.
It's a sunny day.
It's a sunny day and it's warm.
It's warm today.
I can't wait to help Weather Bear
get ready for today's sunny day.
And it's a little warm out.
Remember, Weather Bear lives with me,
so we're going to dress him for the weather here.
And it's sunny.
But first, let's find a picture that represents sunny.
Let's see what we can find.
I have my weather bag.
All right, let's see if we can find a picture
that represents sunny.
How about this picture?
Is that a sunny day?
No, let's save this one for another day.
How about, ooh, this one?
What do you think?
Is this a sunny day?
No, let's save this.
This is snow.
Let's save that for another day.
How about this picture?
Is this a sunny day picture?
Yes, this one has the sun.
And since it's sunny, let's put it on the board.
Remember, it's sunny where I live.
The weather is sunny.
We can read it together.
Let's read it together.
The weather is sunny.
That's right.
Now, what are we going to put on Weather Bear?
I have my Weather Bear bag.
Here are his clothes.
Let's see, how about we start with his pants first?
Because we all know,
Weather Bear loves his favorite blue jeans.
But guess what, everyone?
Guess what?
These were Weather Bear's favorite blue jeans,
but I got Weather Bear new blue jeans.
He can wear these blue jeans,
and these blue jeans have a belt.
Now he can wear his blue jeans with a belt.
Let's put on his blue jeans.
Let's see what they look like.
Oh boy, Weather Bear has new blue jeans.
And remember, we said it's sunny out,
and it's warm where I live.
Not hot, but warm.
How about, hmm, what if we...
Weather Bear likes to wear his green jacket,
but it's really warm out,
so I think he doesn't have to wear his jacket.
He could also wear a hooded sweatshirt.
Do you like his hooded sweatshirt?
This is his new hooded sweatshirt.
It's warm, just like his jacket.
So do you think he can wear his hooded sweatshirt today?
Yes, let's try it.
Why don't we try it?
Okay, green jacket, another day.
Hooded sweatshirt, today.
Okay, Weather Bear, you have a new hooded sweatshirt.
There you go.
And he needs something for his feet.
Let's see what we're going to put on his feet.
Remember, it's sunny and warm.
Should we put his boots on or his sneakers?
Ooh, I agree if you said his sneakers.
Let's save the boots for another day.
We'll put on his sneakers.
There you go, Weather Bear.
And guess what?
We have something special for Weather Bear.
I've been promising Weather Bear a cap.
And now he has two caps, a blue cap and a green cap.
What color should he wear today?
Well, I have an idea.
He has new blue jeans, so why doesn't he wear his blue cap?
Good idea?
Great, let's put it on.
There you go, Weather Bear.
I think he's ready for the day.
We'll see you later, Weather Bear.
Have a good day.
We did it.
We reviewed the entire circle time board.
And now we're ready for a circle time song.
Let's see what circle time song is on top.
Oh, this one, Five Little Ducks.
Can you sing Five Little Ducks with me?
Great, let's sing it together.
Are you ready?
Here we go.
Five little ducks went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only four little ducks came back.
Four little ducks went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only three little ducks came back.
Hold up three.
Three little ducks went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only two little ducks came back.
Can you hold up two?
Good.
Two little ducks went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only one little duck came back.
Hold up one.
One little duck went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
But none of the five little ducks came back.
Zero.
That means nothing.
Sad mama duck went out one day
over the hill and far away.
Mama duck said, quack, quack, quack, quack.
And all of the five little ducks came back.
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack.
Yay!
The ducks came back.
Did you hold up five when they came back?
Great.
Thank you for singing that song with me.
And thank you for coming to circle time today.
We found out the new shape of the week,
the new number of the week,
and the new letter of the week.
I can't wait to see you tomorrow.
Bye for now.
Bye.
