Don't throw away a dying orchid yet. Many orchids that seem impossible to save can still recover
if they are treated properly from the beginning. When the leaves begin to wilt, the roots are
damaged, or the plant no longer has vitality, it is a sign that the orchid is facing a serious
problem. But this is not the end yet. Before doing anything, we need to check the plant's
root system to understand exactly what is happening. The first thing I noticed was that
the potting medium in the pot had completely dried out. The potting medium remaining dry
for a long time can cause the orchid roots to become severely dehydrated and gradually weaken
over time. Cut away all roots that are rotten, soft, or dried out. Keep only the roots that are
still firm and healthy. Cut off the leaves that have turned yellow or those that are damaged and
can no longer photosynthesize. Removing weak leaves will help the plant avoid continuing to
spend energy on parts that are no longer useful. After pruning, gently rinse the roots with clean
water to remove any remaining fungi and impurities. Do you think this orchid can still come back to
life? Comment yes or no below. Prepare one teaspoon of sugar and dissolve it in about
one liter of clean water. This solution helps provide energy during the recovery stage of a
wilted orchid. Soak the entire orchid in the solution for about 20 minutes. This period of
time helps the roots and the stem absorb the necessary moisture after a long period of severe
dryness. Next, prepare about one liter of clean water and one teaspoon of baker's yeast. Next, add
one teaspoon of flour to the solution prepared earlier. The combination of baker's yeast and
flour creates a nutrient-rich environment that helps stimulate orchid roots to begin growing again.
After stirring well, let the solution rest for about 20 minutes to ferment and activate beneficial
microorganisms. Then take the orchid out of the solution and gently wipe the leaves dry with a
soft cloth. If this video is helping you, please give it a like so other orchid lovers can also
find this video. And keep watching because the root results after one month are truly surprising.
After the solution has fermented, filter out the remaining residue in the mixture.
Next, mix the two solutions together. This solution will be used to help the orchid recover quickly
and stimulate new roots to begin developing.
Then soak the roots of the orchid in the mixed solution for about 20 minutes. You do not need
to throw away the remaining solution. You can use it to lightly water other orchids in the garden.
In addition, you can also put the solution into a spray bottle and lightly spray it on
orchids that are in the flowering stage. This method helps the flowering process last longer
and the blooms fade more slowly. After soaking for about 20 minutes, we proceed to plant the
orchid into a new pot. Choose a pot with good drainage holes and use a well-aerated potting
medium so the orchid roots can grow easily. I usually choose crushed pine bark as the potting
medium to replant the orchid. Repotting into a new pot also helps remove the old environment
that had become completely dry or previously infected with fungi. Finally, spread a thin
layer of moss on the surface of the pot. This layer of moss helps retain light moisture for
the potting medium and limits water from evaporating too quickly. After planting,
you can water the orchid with the fermented fertilizer solution made from sugar,
flour, and baker's yeast. Just water once every one to two weeks to gently supplement nutrients
for the plant. And here are the results after about one month. You can see that new roots
have started to grow. And here are the results after about one month. You can see that new roots
have started to grow. These young roots are gradually spreading and attaching to the potting
medium below. This is a sign that the orchid has adapted to the new environment and is recovering
very well. If you continue to care for it properly, this root system will become stronger and stronger
and help the orchid grow steadily again. And here are the results after about three months.
The leaves have become firmer and greener, showing that the orchid has fully recovered.
Not only that, the plant has also begun to grow a new flower spike,
marking a stage of stable growth and preparing for the next blooming season.
And that is the recovery journey of an orchid that once seemed to have been discarded.
With just a little patience and proper care, a weak orchid can start again and grow stronger over
time. If you find this method helpful, please share the video so other orchid lovers can also
save orchids that are having problems. And don't forget to subscribe to the Happiness Garden
