Hey everyone, today we'll open the Gigabyte Gaming A16. To learn more about its display quality,
thermals, benchmarks and many other lab tests, check out the full review on laptopmedia.com.
The link is in the description below. Let's get started. To reach the internal components,
we remove 11 screws and lift off the bottom panel. We are using a JIS number one screwdriver.
All screws are the same length. Using a thin plastic tool, we begin releasing the retaining
clips around the panel. Be careful not to slide the tool too far inside and damage internal
components. Be especially careful near the heat sink area so the cooling assembly is not damaged.
Repeat the same process along the opposite side. The bottom cover is now removed.
Before continuing, disconnect the battery connector and remove the battery. This laptop
uses a 76.1 Wh four-cell lithium-ion battery. You can check the result of our battery life test
on laptopmedia.com and don't forget to visit our top 100 laptops with the best battery life
ranking page. Next, we remove the installed solid state drive. This laptop has two M.2 storage slots.
One runs at PCI Express 4x4 speed and the second runs at PCI Express 4x2.
The solid state drive is covered by a metal shield to reduce electromagnetic interference.
The shield is also secured to the drive with a small adhesive strip. Now we remove the installed
memory module. The installed module is a 16 gigabyte DDR5 memory stick running at 5600
megatransfers per second. The laptop has two SO-DIMM slots and officially supports up to 64
gigabytes of DDR5 memory. We reinstall the memory module back into its slot. Here is the Wi-Fi card.
After disconnecting the two antenna cables, the card can be removed but we will leave it in place
since these antenna connectors are delicate. Here is a quick look at the touchpad assembly from the
inside and here is the cooling system with two fans and heat pipes. Under this assembly sit the
processor and the discrete graphics card. That concludes the internal look at the Gigabyte
Gaming A16. If you want to see how it performs, check our full review on laptopmedia.com for
