Hey everyone, today we are opening the ASUS Vivobook S16.
Find the full review on LaptopMedia.com through
the link in the description.
Let's begin!
Start by removing the four screws securing
the bottom panel.
We're using a Torx T5 screwdriver.
Use a
thin
plastic
pick to
release
the
bottom
panel.
Stay shallow to avoid damaging components.
The
bottom
panel
is
off.
We need to disconnect
the battery before working inside.
One M.2 slot takes
80mm drives.
The processor is underneath this cooling plate.
The soldered RAM
is likely beneath this shield.
One fan and one heat pipe handle cooling.
This soldered Wi-Fi 6 module cannot be swapped out.
To disconnect
the battery,
slide the metal
locking clip back,
then lift the connector straight up.
Watch the tiny components nearby.
The connector
could knock
them off.
Now remove the screws securing the battery.
The
battery
holds
52.5
watt-hours.
Let's remove the SSD. This 256GB drive uses PCI Express Gen 3.
Reinsert
the drive.
This slot
supports
PCI Express
Gen 4x4.
Set the battery back in place. Seat the connector,
then carefully
slide the metal
lock closed.
Now tighten
the battery screws.
The pack uses three lithium-ion cells.
It can be replaced without removing the motherboard.
That covers the battery, SSD and cooling layout.
