Clerk, please report.
Citation 69, Representative Raymer. Citation of adjournment.
The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky does hereby adjourn this legislative day
in loving memory and honor of Joe Davis Forgey.
Lady from Butler.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
Today, I rise to recognize the life of a man who is truly a pillar of the Morgantown and Butler County community, Mr. Joe Davis Forgey.
Jody was one of those rare individuals who seemed to know everyone and everyone knew him.
In Butler County and across political circles throughout Kentucky, his name carried respect, friendship, and a deep love for this Commonwealth and its people.
He loved Kentucky politics.
It was something he followed closely and participated in for many years,
helping on numerous Republican campaigns across our region and state.
Jody was also a longtime pharmacist and the owner and manager of Forgey Drugstore,
where he served the people of Morgantown and Butler County for many years.
Through that work, he built relationships with generations of families and became a trusted figure in the community.
His commitment to the profession of pharmacy extended beyond his local work as well,
as he served on the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, helping guide and strengthen the profession across our state.
I had the privilege of knowing Jody personally.
He supported my own campaign and remained a steady encourager and friend.
In fact, even though he was in a wheelchair, he attended my last fundraiser in November.
That speaks volumes about the kind of man he was, loyal, engaged, and always willing to show up for the people and causes he believed in.
Jody was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and spent his life serving his community.
His presence was steady and his counsel valued and his friendship cherished.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Alice, and all his friends and family.
Move the docket.
